Totobenki are naturally occurring monsters that spawn out of fluctuations in Fronima, similar to Gritskulls. They are commonly created whenever there is a violent disturbance in the flow of Fronima, particularly in Trilok and Dhruv.
Appearing as massive ice beasts, the Totobenki are an incredibly intimidating and fearful sight to behold. They rise up, snaking, out of seemingly thin air to tower at heights of up to twenty feet tall and stretch to a maximum length of up to thirty feet. The Totobenki largely resembles a dragon. They are snake-like in appearance, having no legs, but have two arms that are each five feet long and are tipped in razor sharp talons. The entire body of a Totobenki is covered in massive horns of ice which glisten in the sunlight.
Totobenkis are ruthless, violent, and are unintelligent. They show no mercy, and any attempt to communicate with them has been in vain. They respond violently to any sort of movement or noise. It is if their only motive in their short lives is death and destruction. The Totobenki often kill living creatures in order to keep their own life source flowing.
A Totobenki usually dies within a week of forming from its magical source, becoming freed Fronima in the form of small, permanently frozen ice crystals. Only five to fourteen crystals survive the natural death or destruction of a Totobenki, and can then be used as a valuable fuel for machina.
commonly created by a violent disturbance in the flow of Fronima. This beast is an ice elemental, draconic in appearance and ferocious. The Totobenki stretches at its maximum length to thirty feet long, has two arms at five feet long, and is covered in massive horns of ice.
Habitat
The Totobenki finds refuge in icy seas near places that experience frequent death or waste of magic. They are most commonly found in Ramath-lehi’s polar regions: Dhruv and Trilok. While possible, the Totobenki rarely appear outside of the poles.
The Gritskull is a similar physical manifestation of Fronima that also spawns in water bodies, but quickly makes its way inland toward the hearts of deserts.
Farming Totobenki Crystals
Totobenki are regularly farmed for their crystals in known areas. The Adamaint Empire has the largest Totobenki farming operation on all of Ramath-lehi. They own and patrol much of the land and ocean where Totobenki regularly appear. The Adamaint Empire uses the Totobenki Crystals to power much of their machina technology, namely the Portal Transportation System. Without Totobenki Crystals, much of the Adamaint Empire’s power would be lost.
