When Cronvint was first built, it was as a citadel standing proudly on the coast of Trilok, overlooking the Kaushal Ocean. Above the ground, its city and farms were kept within sturdy walls, and below the subways and tunnels grew and thrived. All of this was overlooked by a grand castle - Cronvintok, the home of the Jarkorlis, descendants of political marriages between Khell nobles and families from abroad. Over several thousand years they became the rules of the whole continent, and commissioned the city and castle as the new capital and the seat of their power.
Today the Jarkorlis do not hold nearly as much political power, instead usually working alongside a parliament that handles everyday issues and affairs in Trilok. However, Cronvintok still stands (though the city has long since outgrown its original walls), and while the family no longer lives there, it is a popular tourist attraction.
