The most notable thing about the fey is their size: fully grown ones are almost never larger than an Earth fox when quadruped, and when humanoid, they hardly reach beyond three feet and eight inches in height. This is, of course, not their only distinguishing feature. They are often quite slender, with powerful limbs. They always have wings, and they always have tail-flames - unless they somehow lose their connection to a power source.

A Feydragon is always easy to tell apart from other subspecies of Pendragon, as they have distinct traits in their appearances. Most notably, the Fey are smaller; on average and when fully-grown, quadrapeds are no bigger than the red fox of late Earth, and bipeds are no taller than 1.10m (roughly 3 feet 8 inches). It is possible for one to be larger, but if the individual is not a hybrid with another subspecies then this is extremely rare. Fey often refer to Pendragons as 'tall', even if the Pendragon in question is considered 'short' by his/her peers.

Many kinds of feydragon have a special, Fromina-infused tattoo which represents the deity they seem to follow. The design of the tattoo depends on said deities, but they always have one thing in common: they are so powerfully infused that it takes one with an equal of journeyman rank or higher in Sorcery, Inner Sight or Seerism to be able to see the tattoo.

The Fey always have wings, and always have tail-flames. The only exceptions are if they were cut off, or something else happened to remove them. Fey wings are one of the most varied parts of their appearance; wings that would be biologically impossible, yet are capable of working, are not uncommon, and in fact are a good way of spotting a Fey. Aside from the tail-flame, the Fey's tail is more or less the same as a regular Pendragon's.

There are multiple kinds of feydragon, but they can be narrowed down to several types: the Alanamsul, the Telbaj, the Azetsum, and the Myshemd.

Nearly all Fey wear special tattoos, often related to their bloodlines and infused with Fromina. This technique was developed long before technology, and it continues to be used frequently, due to it being much cleaner and generally less painful and dangerous than regular tattoo artistry.

They age at the same rate as the regular Pendragon, but due to their smaller size, they have more frail bodies and are more likely to die of old age. Accidents which would leave larger 'dragons mildly injured have been known to fatally injure Fey; in particular the nioties are often in danger if they live in mainstream Ramathian society.
The name is Ramathian for "elemental", and indeed, these Feydragons seem to have a link to the Numegola. When they train in elemental sorcery, they specialize in a specific element, and if they have any kind of 'kinesis, it is very likely to be their element, and they can sometimes be quite powerful in it. Their tattoo is, of course, related to them as well. Typically Alanamsuls have surprisingly sturdy insect wings - they have bones and muscle in them, and the wings are related to the deity.

Most notable is that the Fey are divided into a number of different subtypes - being so magically attuned, this is not as surprising as it may seem. For simplicity's sake, and to save peoples' sanity, they are grouped into four subtypes: the '''Alanamsul''', the '''Azetsum''', the '''Myshemd''' and the '''Kynnyn'''.
As their name, meaning "silver", suggests, the Telbaj Feydragons tend to stay on the neutral side of things. They can essentially be normal pendragons in the sense that they typically worship more than one god. Their wings vary - they can be normal feathered wings, leathery wings, or even insect wings. They can touch upon a range of elements in elemental sorcery, but making up for variety is lack of power: their spells can never be as powerful as spells in a specialized element.

'''III. Azetsum'''

'''I. Alanamsul (elemental)'''
The name means "existent", though lacking a letter, and as one would guess, they are the fey which seem to be of Fromina and Tanastlasei - but Fromina is of greater importance to them. Their wings are large, feathery and seemingly angelic. Easily the most beautiful and handsome of the fey, they are also the most reclusive: only a few Azetsum sightings have been reported, and none have been confirmed. But the Azetsums are of great importance; there is many a tale of an Azetsum helping a lost soul into Fromina.
+
In terms of population, the Alanamsul are the second most common subtype of Feydragon, although there is a significant gap between them and the most populous (the Kynnyn). Despite this they are amongst the most well-known, and one of the most studied subtypes.

'''IV. Myshemd'''

The Alanamsul are named for each clan's practice of worshipping one of the Numegola as a patron/matron deity, to the point that they refer to themselves as that deity's children. Their magical inclination takes after their "parent", and their appearance is likewise influenced, though to a lesser degree. (e.g. A clan that worships Reda would refer to themselves as Children of Reda, be inclined towards fire magic and pyrokinesis, and have fire-themed appearances.)
However, the Azetsums have an enemy. Myshemd is Ramathian for "nothing", and it is a dead giveaway of what these Feydragons serve in tales: Kythlekh himself. They are often dark-coloured, possess demonic-looking leathery wings (the females' wings are covered in feathers), and their claws are occasionally tipped with poison. There are many tales about them assisting rapines, as well as tales of tricking and murdering young pendragons, offering the victims' souls to the Nothing. However, a surprise was recently unearthed. Most of the time, they were only myths. What these Feydragons actually do is, for the most part, unknown.

Feydragons are more fragile than regular pendragons, despite being more magically powerful. They can actually die from old age, which is almost unheard of with their larger "cousins". Aside from that, they can die from the regular causes of death. They live to roughly 70 Ramathian years of age, but there is a common belief that they are not murdered nearly as much...

Their wings resemble those of insects, but are far more sturdy (having bone and muscle is not uncommon, these being the Fey). Other, rarer insectoid traits that occur from time to time include scales, antennae and (extremely rarely) compound eyes.

The beauty of the fey is unspeakable
They fly swiftly beyond the trees and sky
Whilst I watch their children in the snow.

The faeries of Ramath-lehi have many names, but they are most commonly referred to as Feydragons. These special creatures are part of many a myth, legend and tale, but they are far from bedtime stories.

Description

A Feydragon is always easy to tell apart from other subspecies of Pendragon, as they have distinct traits in their appearances. Most notably, the Fey are smaller; on average and when fully-grown, quadrapeds are no bigger than the red fox of late Earth, and bipeds are no taller than 1.10m (roughly 3 feet 8 inches). It is possible for one to be larger, but if the individual is not a hybrid with another subspecies then this is extremely rare. Fey often refer to Pendragons as 'tall', even if the Pendragon in question is considered 'short' by his/her peers.

Most notable is that the Fey are divided into a number of different subtypes - being so magically attuned, this is not as surprising as it may seem. For simplicity's sake, and to save peoples' sanity, they are grouped into four subtypes: the Alanamsul, the Azetsum, the Myshemd and the Kynnyn.

I. Alanamsul (elemental) In terms of population, the Alanamsul are the second most common subtype of Feydragon, although there is a significant gap between them and the most populous (the Kynnyn). Despite this they are amongst the most well-known, and one of the most studied subtypes.

Their wings resemble those of insects, but are far more sturdy (having bone and muscle is not uncommon, these being the Fey). Other, rarer insectoid traits that occur from time to time include scales, antennae and (extremely rarely) compound eyes.

II. Azetsum (existant) (Placeholder description: light-coloured, angelic-looking, said to worship Tanastlasei and Fromina like the Alanamsul worship Numegola. Of course, Light Is Not Good; in other words, not all of them do so.)

IV. Kynnyn (commo[n]) (Placeholder description: The "everyman" of the Fey, and easily the most numerous. Hold little elemental affinity, but can become the most powerful mages. Reproduction and Social Life

Ranging in size from small clans to great cities, feydragons often live in their own societies, away from the normal pendragons. There are only two social classes: the leaders, often one to three families with a council, and the general inhabitants. Many have called whether it actually works into question, and indeed, rebellions have taken place, but for the most part, society is kept in order.

History

For far longer than anyone can remember, there have been Feydragons. None know exactly when they came to be, but written records dating from tens of thousands of years back suggest that they could very well be one of the oldest of the pendragon subspecies. Some Fey claim that they were the very first to exist on Ramath-Lehi; needless to say, whether this is true is highly debateable.

What is certain are several key events in their history, as well as in the history of their interaction with the pendragons. The most well-known is referred to as the Azypot (Exodus), and occurred in approximately 81000. Due to uncertain reasons, an abnormally large number of Feydragons left their native clans and moved into Ramathian society. Some suggest that it was due to civil warfare or drastic changes in law; regardless, records state that these Fey believed that they would be much safer amongst the Pendragons than back home.

Prior to this time, the Fey were seen as little more than rumours and legends. The Azypot confirmed their existence to the rest of the world.
