After here Baal’s question, he turned his head toward him. “You know nothing about me or him!" He turned his head to the bizarre red crystal that he was holding. He head back toward the cave but noticed that Alamu started to run through the forest. He turned his head towards Baal once more and threw a gray crystal. “If you want to find Nailo… that will show you the way, but only in a twenty mile radius." He opened his wings and took off into the air, heading towards the forest. I need to find Alamu and tell her something.
Baal caught it without thinking. <span style='color:red'>This one needs someone else he's gonna end up dead.</span> He had to make a hard decision, go with Averin or go after Nailo. In the end he went after Averin. At a walk as he was too tired all ready. As he walked he studied the crystal interested at how it might work.
Alamu argued with the voice in her head as she ran, weaving through trees unconsciously. <span style='color:gray'>Go to the city.</span> No. <span style='color:gray'>Yes. You could get a job and a home.</span> I have a home. <span style='color:gray'>No you don't.</span> My home is where ever I want it to be. You go to the city. She growled. The voice growled back, and Alamu laughed quietly. Ha! I'm in control! She said triumphantly. <span style='color:gray'>You're being followed.</span> Alamu stopped and looked around. She glanced up and saw a dark shadow against the sky. Averin... She waited, watching him patiently.
Averin sharp eye had caught Alamu and he landed next to her. “Why… Why did you run?" Averin stand there looking at the ground and then realized that he still had the bizarre red crystal. The wounds on his face, neck, chest and shoulder were healing. He looked upon Alamu once more and then he had a vision of the past.
Baal slowly walked towards the pair with the crystal in his pocket. <span style='color:red'>"I'd love to know the answer to the same question that I asked you. And I would like to know more about you, after all you can't keep going on like this with no one to help."</span> He sat down on a nearby rock to wait for a reply half expecting a harsh remark. <span style='color:red'>"Oh and I changed my mind, If we are ever going to stop Nailo we will have to do it together."</span>
Alamu watch Averin silently, wanting to explain but not knowing how. "I...I just wanted to run. I wasn't really thinking." She said it like an apology, feeling bad. She looked away for a moment and then noticed Averin seemed a little...spaced out. She glanced back, uneasy, and then shot a glance at Baal as he sat down. She reached out hesitantly and put a paw on Averin's arm. "Averin? Are you ok?" She asked.
Averin snapped out of it, but not out of thought. Impossible. It can’t be… It as to be some trick of Nailo’s… but with the healing crystal… no dark magic… then… Averin soon snapped out of thought and looked at Alamu. “Uh… Yeah, I’m fine. I was just thinking." Averin looked over towards Baal. “And why are you following me? I thought you would be after Nailo by now." Averin then looked at the ground. A decision has to be made… Tell Alamu information that I’ve hidden from her from the beginning or keep it till another time…
<span style='color:red'>"Well I thought I needed to know more about you and Nailo, before killing him. Though to be honest I thought I had killed him when I blew half his head off and sent his body to hell for my friends to punish."</span> He smiled grimly after a while he slammed the butt of his rifle on the ground with a thud. <span style='color:red'>"But he's back to cause more havoc."</span>
Alamu eyed Averin critically. Something wasn't right. <span style='color:gray'>Go. Don't trust...don't believe.</span> Her other half whispered. Shut up. I'm not going anywhere. She snapped back. She lost herself in her own thoughts, wondering why that strange look was in Averin's eyes. <span style='color:gray'>Secrets and lies. You've seen them before.</span> Shut up! She was confused. Alamu shook her head closing her eyes. Calm down. Think. You have to do this. She told herself firmly. I need time to think. She glanced up. Averin was looking at Baal. She slipped back a step, soundless. She was shaking. She couldn't stop trembling. Something was very, very wrong, and she couldn't work it out in her head. She closed her eyes again, working everything through her mind. She had to figure this out. She took another step back, wanting to run but also wanting to stay. What is this sense of wrongness? She wondered.
Averin kept his eyes lock on Baal and said. “You sent Jericho back to hell! That wasn’t smart of you, but I can’t blame you… You have no idea who you are dealing with." Averin looked at Alamu and said a phrase from his past in Ramathian. “Sjots ymli iyoj klytats vjeampt!" Averin looked at Alamu and hoped that she will remember that phrase from the past.
Baalberith stared at him, it was obvious that Averin was right. <span style='color:red'>"Okay then tell me....erm...us...just what is going on it seems this isn't a normal taint now is it."</span> Baal slowly got up of his rock to stand by Alamu. <span style='color:red'>"We well at least I hope it's we, are here to help you so you can tell us right? It doesn't matter if you choose not to but a little knowledge wouldn't do any harm."</span>
Alamu's eyes snapped open and she stared at Averin, translating quickly. "Klyta vjeampt uja hujp sy kyna ri. E'n dlup E huba u vaf." She answered softly. She glanced at Baal as he came to stand by her. "I don't know how much help I'd be, but I have a friend who could help as well." She offered quietly. She looked up at Averin, waiting.
Averin’s eyes flashed when she said the answer. So, it wasn’t a trick, it was a memory. Then he looked at Alamu and said. “Sha Sjaa yv rademmemd vjeamptheg, Sha Sjaa yv rademmemd lyba, Sha Sjaa yv sha sfy haujst." Averin looked at Baal and told him. “One minute please, then I’ll tell some history on him."
Baal listened intently though he didn't exactly know why. <span style='color:red'>Friends, so damn useful.</span><span style='color:red'>"Okay I'll leave you two alone for a while, I will be back call if you need me. After all we are all friends here."</span> He walked off in a round about way before jumping into the branches of the trees.
Alamu watched Baal walk away before sighing softly, thinking of an answer for Averin. "Sha shjaa rakyna yma fham sha sfy kynrema." She said quietly, looking up. "Sham sha ymka-shjaa rakyna Sha Sjaa yv Abajlutsemd Lyba." She looked down, uncertain, before looking up shyly.
His eyes flashed once again when she answered. So, she is… but one more test. Averin’s body was started to shake. “Fhus py sha gemc vlyfajt tsump vyj? Fhus py sha laubat tsump vyj? Fhus py sha sjomc yv sha sjaa tsump vyj? ump fhus pyat sha shyta tinrylt tsump vyj?" Averin threw a piece of paper and controlled the wind to guide it towards Alamu.
Alamu caught the paper, carefully unfolding it as she answered. "Sha vlyfajt tsump vyj lyba. Sha laubat tsump vyj sjots. Sha sjomc et vyj tsjamdsh ump kyojuda, ump ull sha tinrylt tsump vyj ull shus et ump fell abaj ra." She studied the paper and looked up at Averin, confused. "What is this?" She asked softly.
Averin softly laughed. “That paper has the symbols, which I was talking about, but you answered that question correctly." Averin looked down at the ground with a despairing look on his face.
Alamu folded the paper and slipped it into a pocket, watching Averin worriedly. "Averin? Why do you look so sad?" She asked, standing up and moving toward him. "Averin?" She asked when he didn't answer.
Averin looked up at her. No more lies, it’s time to tell her the truth about me, her, and Nailo. “Remember when you asked me a question. ‘Were we friends before this’ and… I’ve answered I don’t know, I can’t remember." Averin sighed. “The truth is… that we were friends before the destruction of Chrysalis Cannon." Averin laughed softly. “Actually, we were friends when you were seven and I was nine, and continued to be friend till the day of Chrysalis Cannon’s destruction. The tree was… a secret that only we knew."
