{Shadow?} Veaji telepathed back. {What are you doing here?!} Answer me, young one! the Kiom suddenly boomed. Such strong voice for such an old anubi. He began to pace. You had brought chaos into this village. Are you planning to bring more? I came to seek pardon. And that is all I ask. Whether you want me to leave or not, I will willingly oblige after you've pardoned me. Veaji said. She could see that the kiom was thinking hard. He was a wise one and thinks most of what he was going to do before he does it. But he was also full of stubborness and pride. Never, he said quietly. Never will I forget what you've done. Veaji, you've done much to print those memories in my head... Something tugged at her heart. She knew what he was talking about and she truly regretted the pain she'd caused for both of them. What am I to do for a simple pardon? _____________________________ Jaleurla was just walking out of the building at that time. He saw the dog, waiting patiently by the entrance. He looked around for Dev but he was no where in sight. You idiot, Dev. he mumbled to himself. I thought I told you to get rid of this pest. Then he reached for his dagger. Stay. This is the fastest way to get rid of you. And he began to move closer to Shadow.
Shadow looked at the anubi in surprise, how dare he approach him in that way... Shadow growled his eyes changing from their white to a deep blood red... {stay back anubi...lest you face the wrath of a guardian spirit...} His fur raises, fluffing him out... would another fall for this trick? He telepaths Veaji. {i'm the dog that was following you...i'll explain later, in a little muddle...} He stares at the anubi a wind speel ready under his breath.
Jaleurla stopped his dagger in mid air. He was surprised and it clearly showed in his face. But he also has a brave soul and therefore, he wasn't easily spooked. Forgive me, if you will err... guardian. he bowed in apology and respect. I'm guessing that you were looking after the anubi stranger. Would you like me to take you to her? he asked. ______________________ The Kiom stopped pacing. He wanted her to pay for the many sins the thill did. But something was holding him back. Was it because of his tie to Veaji? Or was it because he knew that Veaji was capable of repeating history? And if I give you pardon, what good it would do? Will it erase the history made? Will it bring back the souls you took? Will it even benefit both of us? And not only us. Will it benefit the village? the white anubi asked, looking Veaji straight in the eyes. Veaji didn't answer. You just came here for a peace of mind, didn't you? I know you dream about it every night. Your tired eyes tell the tale. the kiom uttered an eerie laugh. Tell me, do you dream about your mother?
{ ahh, if you please would at least take me to outside the room where she speaks...i do not wish to meddle in her private affairs... i am a mere tool for protection... That is why i was created...} Shadow walks up to the anubi slowly, giving a nod of acceptance, before waitin gto be led to a place where he can be there for veaji.
He nodded and walked inside the building. He looked behind him to make sure that the guardian followed. I should at least inform the chief. He would like to know a guardian is here. Jaleurla said. He stopped in front of the room where Veaji and the kiom were arguing. Beyond this door is where your anubi is. Now, please excuse me. he said and then walked into the room. Veaji was actually glad of the interuption. The subject about her mother hurts her most. What is it now? the kiom asked. I'm just to tell you that this Veaji Ralla has a guardian with her. I do not think you'd like to hurt her or anything. Jaleurla whispered to the chief. The kiom glanced at Veaji, then he said to Jaleur. Show me this... guardian of hers. Jaleur nodded and walked out of the room where Shadow was waiting. The kiom followed the guard and took a long look at the Dakesto. I'm told you're the guardian of this anubi I have inside the room?
{indeed i am here to protect her... and i ask your interest in this matter} He decides that for this to work a third time... he will need to act with an air of power, like the guardian of his old clan... in fact... he could pretend to be that guaridan or at least summon his old spirit friend to vouch for him... he would play along... Coldly he looked back waiting for the chief to reply, yet still showing utmost respect for the clan master.
Out of Character

I might powerplay a little bit... If you don't like it, let me know and I'll change it ASAP

The chief clad in black took a good look at Shadow. Then it seemed as if the kiom was getting furious. It didn't look good for Shadow's part. You fool! You think you can fool an anubi like me? Get up, you filth! he spat at Shadow. Then he turned to Jaleur and Jaleur shrank back, as if there were fire in the kiom's eyes. You! How can an experienced guard such as you let this happen? B-but Dev was supposed to take care of him... I really didn't know... he- Enough! I'll deal with you later. Go and find Dev. Jaleurla gave a quick nod and rushed off. Veaji heard the commotion. She came out of the room to investigate. The chief was there, ready with his furious gaze. You think this he accented and pointed to Shadow. is funny? A guardian? Leave him out of this. This was all my idea. I forced him to do it. Veaji coolly lied. The scene don't look so good. She needed time to think how to get out of this. But for some reason, her brain won't work. {Don't do anything, Shadow. You've done enough.} she telepathed to him, making sure the message would not be heard by the chief. The chief mumbled something and suddenly in a wisp of smoke, several anubian guards appeared. Take him away. the chief coldly ordered. He mumbled another spell and this time it was to make Shadow sleep. The guards surrounded him, caught him before he hit the ground and then dragged him away. Where is he going? What are you going to do to him? Veaji asked, a hint of concern in her voice. Nothing much is going to happen to him. He'll just be locked up. It is you that'll be facing much trouble. Veaji could do nothing but stare back at the cold hard eyes.
Shadow tried to fight the spell, his body thrashing and convulsing in its Dakestoe form. He gave a panicked look at Veaji as he heard the cheifs words. He fell down in his 'dragon form. Blackness surrounding his thoughts. He woke up in what seemed to be a barred cell a cage that looked as though it had been made for a rabid animal, Getting up and feeling the cool metal in his hands he shook the side violently, Panick clear in his eyes. This was how he had once been caught a long time ago by vampyre hunters, this was how his mother had... LET ME OUT! YOU BASTARDS! he bellowed ramming his whole body into the side of the bars, yelling in pain and then doing it over and over. Every bar tore chunks from his fur and flesh as he soon sat in the middle rocking back and forth watching everything around him. Blood stained his skin and the cold steel floor as he mumbled under his breath madly. Veaji, i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry. I was only wanting to protect you, protect you, protect you... He kept doing this, his eyes black and his soul receeded into his heart.
A moment later, the prison that held Shadows cell cage and several other unoccupied ones, opened its door and two guards were seen. Each was heaving a protesting youth down the staircase between them and after several failed attemps of escape by the new prisoner, was pushed into a cell beside Shadow's. The gate was then shut and locked tight. The youth uttered a curse. His voice was familiar to those who'd met him. And definately would be familiar to Shadow. Dev turned to his left and came face to bars with Shadow. The youth's icy eyes became slits. A look of annoyance was upon his face. Thanks for getting me into trouble. It was a very good deed of you. But for future reference, you might not want to act as an anubian's guardian. Especially Miss Ralla's. For her guardian was long gone... or so I heard.
Shadow was in no fit state for a social chat, slowly he stood up and charged at the cell wall where Dev sat, His black eyes shining red with anger at Dev. As if i care about you! he spat, his paws punching the bars, making them vibrate. His tail flame spitting wildly. He began his pacing again, some of his sanity restored with the twisted comfort of another gave him.
How rude.... Dev muttered to himself and sat down on the cold steel. The place, dungeon or whatever, was quite dark and only a dim light somewhere from above could be seen. There was not much expression on the youth's face proving that this cell was not a good place to be in. He doesn't even seem bothered at all. He was whistling a tune while looking around the place, trying to see if there was anything interesting in the room. Say... a weapon? Why do you go with that anubi anyways? Don't you know at all she's trouble? he asked after a while.
Shadow stopped his pacing, slowly turning to face the half blood. You know nothing about her... How dare you assume, because of those stories... She did not... why am i wasting my time! shadow sat down finally, facing thesame way as Dev. Playing with his magic he rolled a ball of blue flame across the floor of his cell, making it take the form of a dakestoe, ironically.
Dev nodded. Charming, ain't she? You know, you're the only person who had stuck by her though knowing what she did. But of course, you don't know all... you weren't here. Then he took out something from under his fur. In the dim light, it looked like something metal for it was shiny. Dev started playing with it. And I do not assume, my dakesto foe. I know Veaji. She doesn't remember me, however. A look of annoyance was back on his face when he mentioned Veaji doesn't remember him. He continued to play with the metal and waited for a response from the other.
You know her? Yet you procceeded to discourage her from her home? Shadow stopped in thought thinking how he had got into this mess. Veaji didn't know i was here, as the dakestoe... and i may not know everything about her... i was taught to take people for how i saw them, rather than judging by their past... vampyre or not, i have a heart. Veaji is...a... friend to me. i protect my friends by all means. shadow glanced at the shiny object, his eyes narrowing and then rolling a red flame in a dakestoe form to join the blue one...
Dev held up a paw and clutched the shiny metal in his other paw. Hold it! he said, his face held the look of amusement. Where in the world did you get the idea that I discourage her from her home? I told you that I know her and that she's trouble. Nothing more. He chuckled and continue on playing with the metal. You know, despite that you got me into trouble, I really respect your opinion. No anubi around here thinks like that. They're just one stuck up lots, I'm telling you. He paused a while, thinking of something. Veaji is capable of taking care of herself, yes. But she's foolish sometimes. She rushes much into things... He obtained a far away look. I saw her once when she was 16. I went to Swaraj on an errand and saw her. I tried talking to her but it looks like her past had changed her alot. She seemed colder somehow. How did you come to be her friend, eh?
i met her in the black market in one of my darker moods... we needed to group together for our own sakes. Met her in Pwa desert while i was staying in another anubian town. Invited her for coffee and a place to kip. Her past, well all bad pasts can change a person. he ran his paw through his hair. His Liking for dev rising. How do you know her though? You seem to know alot... A slow blink and adding a green flame to dance with the other two he turnede to face Dev. I do however apoligise for my actions earlier, i did not mean to get you in trouble. You'll be ok right? i have no idea of the different clan punishment...
I do know her alot... the past her. I'm her childhood friend... well, used to be. She didn't mind if I'm a half blood or not. It doesn't seem to bother her. We used to play alot before those incidents happened. I believe she told you most of what happened. he replied. Then he placed the shiny metal in front of him. It now had a vaguely familiar shape about it. I believe also that she didn't tell you who she'd killed when she tried to escape? She's like that. The youth paused for a while. Memories of that terrible night that changed the village as much as the villagers came flashing back. He shook his head in sadness. It was her mother that she shot before she went away. Poor girl. I've never seen her that confused before. There is much of her past that she would not open to people. Even the ones close to her. That much, I know. Whether she changes her ways again, I cannot say. But I do wish she would. There was a short-lived silence before Dev brightened up. He smiled at Shadow and then said, As for punishment, I'll not be getting it. he took up the piece of metal and held it to where Shadow's flames shed light. It was a small key. Evidently, it looked big enough to fit in the cell's keyhole. I snagged this little thing when I was struggling with the guard. I still have no idea why these brainless guys carry spare keys. He then turned to the cage's gate and slot the key into the keyhole. There was a click before the gate swung ajar. Dev pushed the gate wide open and went out. He stood up, shook himself, stretched and took back the key. Ah, yes. Apology accepted, my half blood foe.
I do not see why i am a foe? I meant no harm to you? i'm guessing however... i'll be left here... Then his mind clicked...half blood? he hadn't told him what he was... wait one sec...how do you know my heritage? I have only told one person of my true blood line... His eyes narrowed as he tried to figure this one out. His white eyes darkened as he tried to figure out what was happenning. Only his clan and Veaji knew this...
Dev chuckled. It took him a while before he calmed down. You're not dumb after all. He then moved to Shadow's cell and unlocked the gate. The reason I know this is because Veaji sent me a quick message to me to save your Dakestoe butt. Hmm... come to think of it, you and I have much in common. he pulled the gate open to let Shadow out. Took her a while to remember me. Come, we must move fast. The guards would be down here any minute to check on us. He turned around and grabbed a stick nearby. He threw it to Shadow. Then he bent down and collected a few rocks, wrapped them in a dirty cloth he found on top of a dusty box and grabbed an old catapult beside the box. It took Dev only 5-10 minutes to get everything done. It was clear he had this all planned. You can't use any magic here so don't try. It'll just waste time. Just attack all the guards you come across like crazy and we'll be fine. he walked towards the entrance door slowly (for it was dark and it was quite hard to see). He placed a paw on the brass door knob and waited for a while. Ready?
as if i need magic... he gave a smile before going into his were form. It wasn't as horrifying as it had first been, looking like a giant dakestoe, his fangs and claws lengthy and outstretched. {got this from my mothers side, no magic needed...} he gave a growl as he nosed the stick to dev. {i'm Shadow Degoz, or just Oz, pleased to have finally made amends with you.} he cracked his spine. {ready}
