1. Veaji nodded. Yes, just what I thought you would be. She then lapse into silence as soon as the waitress brought their meal. Silently, she ate while thinking of her own past. It was dark. Possibly the darkest part of her life.

You need not, she said suddenly, Feel the need to find my village with me. As I said, it is dangerous for you. It's even dangerous for me to go back. She looked at him, expecting whatever reply he was to give. Then she went back to finishing her meal.

  2. i can easily disappear or go into a mere canine form... if its dangerous for you then surely you will need some back up? if the worst sould happen if not, i'll leave you to your clan... he stared at a marsmallow floating in his cup, how did you know... he then asked about my background... he siad grief tainting his voice

  3. Veaji sighed. If you like... it's your choice after all. She started on her Hot Choc Mocha. It had a weird taste yet satisfying.

Your background... Veaji allowed a small laugh. I'm sorry if I've offended you, but it was just my guess. I've met with alot of vampires in my past. You don't seem the same. She looked at him for a moment. As an anubi, I should think that half breeds are unclean. But I do not think so. I have a past more unclean than yours... She looked down at the table thinking she'd said more than what she should. She wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. She didn't want to sit down and talk anymore. She took her drink and downed it.

  4. shadow watched her down the drink, you don't have to talk veaji. do you want to do to the bed and breakfast now? he asked knowing that she was not happy with what she had just said. at least she doesn't think i'm some dirty blood of sorts he sighed gesturing to the waitress to cancel to orders or if they were ready to put it on the bill, placing down enough to cover all the meals he slowly stood up and held his hand out in a gentlemans way, are you coming Veaji? he asked againg more softly this time

  5. For a moment, Veaji let her guard drop. What with remembering her past and Shadow being so kind to her. She liked what he was doing. But just as sudden as she'd let down her guard, the mask was back on again. She couldn't get emotionally friendly with Shadow - or any other living being for that matter. She must not, for the good of all.

Yes. Let's go... she stood up, ignored his hand that she wanted to take and walked out of the cafe. Night had already fallen. The village was filled with lights and gave a very bright aura. Most of the villagers are already in their homes or in a tavern nearby the cafe. She waited for Shadow to come out and show her the way to the bed and breakfast.

  6. Shadow sighed giving the waitrees the money and heading out the door....

this way Veaji... he guestured padding lightly on the dusty floor, the place was close by, as he turned one corner where a very lod fancy house stood, thats it there... one thing, follow what i do when i get in here the owner is a bit grumpy i might have to play up a little ok?

  7. Veaji absent mindedly nodded. She was begining to feel a little sleepy.

Wait. Play up? What cha gonna do? she asked as she followed him to the inviting house. The insects that sing in the night was quite irritating to Veaji at the time. Maybe she should crush them up.

  8. Shadow smiled playfully. you'll see... he said flicking his orbs back to look at her as he entered the old wodden door.

Sure enough he saw the innkeeper there staring at him with a hatred that could only be described as well... scary. he looked at shadow, pointed at veaji and then snapped, no visitors... shadow looked at him unscathed by his glares.

i'll have you know this fine lady is no visitor!, this is my fiance! saying this he slipped his arm around her waist telepathing Veaji play this will you? hes a old fashioned sod... he wont let us in if he thinks your not "with me" as such...he then smiled widely at the frowning keeper. surely you can't say no to her face? i know i couldn't huh? honey? he added so smoothly giving a her a peck on the cheek, even he was chuffed with his acting running his hand through his short hair, glancing at veaji raising his eyebrow in a suggestion for her to act out.

  9. Veaji stared at the mean looking innkeeper for a while. Hoping her acting skills were still as good as it used to be, she cracked a wide I-am-so-in-love grin on her face and looked up at Shadow with adoring eyes. Couldn't you just say I'm your half sister? she telepathed, but yet she felt her heart gave a little leap at the warmth of Shadows arm around her waist.

Well if you did say 'no' to me, you'd know you'll be sleeping alone tonight. she said. Then she turned to the innkeeper. Sir, we're a little sleepy, ya know? she rested her head slighty on Shadow's shoulder for effect. We had a little party at the tavern celebrating our coming wedding. So if you don't mind, we'd like to get an early night?

  10. Shadow looked at the innkeeper questionly as he grunted a barely audible ...fine before turning around again his nose practically through the newspaper. But for the moment he kept his armly firmly yet gently around her waist. soon after three whole flights of stairs they reached the penthoouse.. slowly his arm left the area from around her waist while he fiddled with the key, and upon opening the door he playfully scooped her up in his arms and walked easily over the threshold bridal style. gently putting her down on the sofa he smiled widely.

Great acting! god, it was brilliant... topped me right off.. good playing. i never thought about saying you were my half sister, but that could be a bit dodgy.. he smled again, better than what i thought though huh? standing there he kept smiling before reaching over the counter to switch the kettle on. do you want another drink. i brought wine in earlier...?

  11. For a moment she had a wild weird up fantasy, as she was set down on the sofa, of her actually having someone by her side for once. Namely the person in her head now was Shadow. Then she nearly burst out laughing at the stupid thought of it. How can she? She was always running away from trouble. Having a happy life wasn't Veaji. Even if she do start to have a happy life, Veaji felt she should change her name. Now he was complienting on her acting. She smiled. She took great pride in her abilities.

Thank you. Thought it'd gone rusty. I was afraid the innkeeper wasn't gonna buy it. Veaji said. She smiled at him as he smiled at her. Then she realised what she was actually doing and she looked away. This is one freaking day... she thought. Yeah. I'd like some wine. she replied. Lots of it. she added in her head.

  12. his smile looked at her knowingly as she looked away... you were great, it showed me a thing or too... white, red or this pink stuff i found? he said walking to the kitchen taking out two expensive looking glasses and bringing the through with the bottle his tail had wrapped around. ladys choice... he grinned

  13. Red. Veaji chose. She unbuckled her holster belt and set both her sword and gun on one of the coffee tables.

That wine is expensive? she asked with one brow raised.

  14. Relatively, you donÂ’t have a problem with that do you? He asked showing her the vintage wine. It was - if you knew about wine - very high class you may as well though cos its opening tonightÂ… and with that he pulled the cork out, filling the glasses full, he sat down beside her with the full glasses handing it her gently, do you want me to come with you tomorrow? If what you say is right, then even you could do with back up, I donÂ’t want you getting hurt and I know you can hold your own... he silenced for a second. No matter how strong you are, if youÂ’re outnumbered youÂ’ll have no chanceÂ…

  15. Nope. No problem at all with vintage. This tongue never tasted cheap wine before. she said as took the wine glass from Shadow. She took a sip and swirled the wine around in her mouth, enjoying its taste.

She continued to sip her wine as Shadow talked about tomorrow. How could she bring him to her village? Especially when she knew the anubis wouldn't be too pleased to see her face there. Bringing a vampire could make matters worst. Why does she care anyway? Since when had she start caring? Without realizing it, she had downed half the wine in the glass. I do know I'd be outnumbered. But I have teleportation skills when this occurs. she replied.

After a moment, she said, It's nice of you to want to come along. But... I really don't want you getting hurt. she looked at the floor. You don't know my past, Shadow. You don't know how the anubis in my village hates and despises me. They aren't happy with vampires either...

She twirled the glass in her hand, studying its built. Flashbacks were happening inside her head but she managed to shove them down deep inside again. Have you ever wondered why most of the time I am angry? Or have no company? Or know nobody except mafias? she asked suddenly. She turned to look at Shadow I'd like to tell you all that's inside of me. But it's harder than I thought. I'm not used to this and I don't think I'd ever be. And this is as more than my usual talk... 'Cause I'm quite close to bursting. This is why I felt the need to find my village. Probably seek forgiveness... she downed the other half of the liquid and reached for the bottle for somemore.

  16. Shadows eyes clouded...as he slipped his arm around her trying to comfort her. dont worry i have a few tricks under my fur, but i dont want you to get hurt either, remember there is magick barriers that can be cast on you, and then what? she was still looking at the floor before she continued she was right he didn't know her past, but she never knew his either...

    i dont hate you....

it was all he could think to say after she had stopped talking completely. he stroked her hair, for once not trying to pull a lady but trying to be a friend....

  17. That was it. Either it was the wine or her mixed up life or her confusion on why someone was being so kind. She burst out into silent tears. Her body shaking with sobs while the tears ran down her cheeks and dropped to the carpetted floor. She set down her glass of wine and curled herself up, hugging her knees. It has been a long time since she'd shed these tears.

It took few moments but she finally calmed down. Still hugging her knees, she said in a small voice, You know, maybe one day you'll know about my past. It is up to you how to judge me on what happened. I wouldn't blame you She looked at Shadow then she gave him a hug. She'd forgotten how it felt like to hug someone or be hugged back. But she found it somewhat comforting. Then as sudden as she'd hugged him, she pulled back. She was feeling a little akward.

Um... I'm kinda tired. I'm gonna go... sleep. she stumbled upon her words before she got up from the couch and headed quickly for one of the rooms which took her a few minutes to find considering she was new to this sort of house. She shut the door and threw herself on the bed, pulling a pillow towards her and hugging it. The bed was very comfortable and soon, she was drifting off to sleep with a million thoughts in her head.

  18. Shadow didn't have any idea on what to do when she broke down. All his mind could muster was to keep half hugging her letting her get it out of her system. His hand stayed on her head and it only moved when she began to speak in a small voice, which was unusal to hear from her mouth.

He looked at her and listened. And as she gave him a hug he felt a protectiveness he wanted to give to her. To stop the world from making her feel like what she was feeling like now. She jumped back from her show of affection of sorts, stuttered words about her going to bed and then quickly made of towards a room, luckily going in the bedroom - it was the one he had hoped to sleep in for it had his clothes in it, but he would use the spare room tonight.

Getting up, leaving the glasses for morning he headed into his room, hoping that er tortured soul would br alright...

  19. She was running. Running away from the fire that kept chasing her. She looked behind her and the fire was getting closer.

Get outta here, you scum! someone from behind screamed. Maybe the one carrying the torch.

Veaji ran until she was stopped. Her mother, a frail looking anubi was crying her eyes out. Mommy? she heard herself say in a child-like voice. Mommy don't cry... Then everything got blurry and there were screams and a mixing of voices. Veaji felt fear grip her heart. She tried to run but her legs won't move...

Veaji woke with a start. Her surroundings were dark, unfamiliar and it took her a moment to remember where she was. She was sweating and her wildly pumping heart was slowly going back to its usual beat. Veaji noticed that she was hugging the pillow tight and loosened her grip. The blanket that she was sleeping on was in a messy order. Morning had not yet come when she looked out of the window.

Feeling thristy, she got up from the bed and walked out of her room. Her eyes adjusted easily to the dark but she had yet to find where the jug of water was. She noticed that the glasses of wine were not kept and reached for her full glass. Then she walked towards the window and sat down on the sill, wishing morning would come faster. Slowly, she sipped her wine while her mind ran back the images she'd dreamt. She wondered if she'd been screaming in her dreams. She hoped not for she didn't want to wake Shadow.

  20. Shadow was sitting on his bed reading, another book about the victims of Vamyre hunters... his eyes fixated on the page with his mothers face... Screams interupted his thought as he took a few moments to register that they weren't in his mind. They were Veajis'. Leaving the book on the bed. He made his way to the door, hearing her move about in the living room. He completely forgot about the red and grey checkered pajama bottoms as he came out to see her sitting there on the window sill.

    Veaji? are you alright?

He asked tenderly padding his way next to her. As she stared out of the window sipping the wine from her glass.
