Nyx nodded to Chi and quickly walked after Raizan. The last thing she wanted to deal with right know was her fathers men. She had dealt with them to often in the past. The made it out the gate, which slammed shut behind them. She heard pounding feet and realized it was all the ardens running in the opposite direction.
<span style='color:purple'>Ok now we run</span> He said, sprinting away from the household with nyx, getting far enough away so they wouldn't be seen. It was near a small oasis, crystal clear water springing up and creating waves on the surface.
Nyx sprinted along with him. Once they reached the small oasis she stopped. She probably should be crying but, the only thing she felt was anger. She picked up a rock charged it with electricity and launched it as hard as she could into the water. "I hate being lied to. He didn't die of old age. Old age doesn't leave a scar down the side of your face!" She said the words and her legs went out underneath her.
Raizan sat behing her and laid a hand on her shoulder, knowing that she needed her space for now. <span style='color:purple'>Think about this, when was the last time you saw him? He could have gotten into a fight before that and the scar never healed. Did you think about that?</span>
Nyx reached down and pulled out the book from the front of her skirt. She thought about what Raizan said for a moment. She turned around and looked at him. She said in a calmer voice,"I wish I could say that were true but, I can prove to you otherwise. You see I know that particular blade." She stopped talking set down the book, and pulled up her skirt showing the exact same scar that was on her fathers face, only hers had healed. "This is what it looks like once it healed. His was still fresh. I cannot remember who the blade belongs to but, I guess father finally pissed him off one to many times." She layed back in the grass, and tried to relax a little.
Raizan bent over her head and gave her a quick kiss. <span style='color:purple'>Just relax and let it out, I'm here for you</span> He said, leaing back into his sitting position and looking down at her, hating this. There was nothing he could do to make her feel better. He could try, but it was ultimately up to her.
Nyx looked up at Raizan, and pulled herself into a sitting positioned. She gave a tense smile and then a thought passed through her mind. Her smile softened. She looked over at the water and back at him. "I have never swam here before. I was always told not to. I can't think of a better time to do so." She giggled as she removed her boots, stood up and removed her sweater and her skirt. She turned and stepped into the water, shivered a little and then completely submerged herself. After a moment, she came back up with a grin on her face. "There is something relaxing about water. Are you going to join me?"
<span style='color:purple'>Why wouldn't I?</span> He said, getting in beside her and sinking down, letting the water relax him. His fur clung to his, showing his semi well defined body. He wasn't one of the muscle freaks, but no weakling either. He loved to swim, letting the water caress and soothe him.
Nyz smiled and looked at him. Her dark green eyes sparkling. She giggled splashed him and then quickly swam away. At this moment she could care less if anyone walked up on them. She was taking this chance to try to relax and unwind.
Raizan swam after her, easily catching up with her. <span style='color:purple'>You can't swim as fast as me</span> He said, jumping up in front of her and holding her by the shoulders, facing him. Water dripped from both of them, creating small ripples in the spring. He smiled and her and gave her a quick peck, pulling away only enough so that he could speak. <span style='color:purple'>You should swim more often, you look beautiful</span>
Nyx laughed as they stood there facing each other water dripping off of them. She blushed. "Raizan, thank you for coming with me today. I would never have been able to do it alone." She looked into his eyes and gently ran a hand over the side of his face.
<span style='color:purple'>Did you honestly think I would let you go alone?</span> He said, smiling at her and rubbing her shoulders, trying to make her forget about the events of the day so far.
Nyx laughed. She let her eyes close for a moment and then opened them back up. "No, I figured that if I tried going alone. I wouldn't have been able to convince you but, that is one of the reasons I love you." She stepped closer and nuzzled his neck.
Raizan returned the favor, giving her neck a few playful nips for good measure. It seemed his way of cheering her up was working, at least for the short term. How badly he wanted to just chase her fears away and let her be happy and relax, no worries, no problems, no future, just the here and now.
Nyx felt a warm feeling deep inside her. She knew that it was because of Raizan there was no other reason. Lately she had devoted so much to helping others, that she had almost forgotten what it was like to relax. She giggled as he nipped her. She couldn't resist nipping him back. It seemed every day she was around him, he managed to get through another barrier she had up. "Raizan, how is it that you are sneaking through every barrier that I have up?" She asked.
<span style='color:purple'>Any barrier can be broken, given sufficent pressure, or just one crack.</span> He said, smiling at her and laughing a little, knowing it was true. <span style='color:purple'>Besides, I'm not the one breaking them, you are. You are learning to trust me because I have not and will not try anything to hurt you.</span> He whispered to her, nuzzling her cheek and growling.
Nyx looked into his eyes and realized what he said was true. She let her eyes close and moved her neck as he nuzzled her again. "You are right and it is a wonderful feeling to finally be able to trust someone." She let out a soft growl and nuzzled him back.
Raizan kissed her gently, letting his arms wrap around her waist and pull her close. As he broke it, he whispered her name, wanting her. She was right, it did feel good knowing that you could trust someone.
Nyx gently kissed his neck. She felt a shiver of excitement go up her spine as he whispered her name. She kissed his neck again. "Raizan." She whispered.
She was testing his self control to its limits. She had no idea how little he had left. He wanted to just take her right there, not caring if someone stumbled upon them. However, even the basic desire to mate could not overcome the last shred of it he had. He loved her, and would wait until she was ready.
