Javelin was glad that Faedra didn't ignore the comfort he offered. As a matter of fact, her acceptance was more than he had hoped for. It was accepted with a warm smile, the blushing noted but regarded without being commented on. After all, the other pendragon had no reason to be embarrassed, no reason at all. Her singing was lovely to the ears. Why anyone would have made her feel like she should be sorry at a prior time was beyond him. Evidently she thought there was something to apologize for, though there truly wasn't.

As Faedra spoke, it was the spy's turn to blush. Though there were still stiff walls around the spy sort of stuff, his guard was mostly down. Faedra was a nice girl and she didn't seem to have any ill intent toward him. Thus, the spy didn't worry. Everyone was an enemy until proven otherwise, but she had shown otherwise. That didn't mean he wasn't prepared to defend himself, merely that Jace was being relaxed around her. The words were quite welcome, too, as he felt the same way. It just seemed... as if he should blush, because it was a compliment. Not embarrassed, more of a delighted sort of pinkish tint beneath the white portions of his fur.

<font color=maroon>"I'm glad you feel that way, Faedra. It is nice to be able to relax around someone."</font> Valimos responded with a kind smile. It was true, he had few friends and enjoyed those he made. Today was one of those days where he had found a fast companion. Though whether their relationship would blossom into true friendship was something that the spy didn't know. At least not yet. Someday he would realize whether it was just a one day thing or not. Then he would be more content with the way that things were going. Right now it was just so hard to accept that she was a true friend, since she was just met. They would see. Before too long it would be clear.

Jace noticed another approaching before Faedra, at least by a second or two. Ears flicked forward and eyes sharpened as he peered about in unnerved concern. What was that? Another male, he could tell, fingers tightening into fists as he eyed the dark world with careful vision. As the other appeared and questioned whether he could sit down, the spy gave a slight frown. He didn't like mystery people just showing up, seemingly out of nowhere. It annoyed him. Obviously this one was up to no good, at least as far as Valimos was concerned. There was no reason to turn him away unless he confirmed the black-and-white male's suspicions, however.

<font color=maroon>"If you mean no harm, stranger, then sit."</font> Was the male's simple response.

  2. "harm? why would i harm you?" said the 'dragon. "you have done mean or bad nothing to me, so i have no reason to harm you." he said, sitting down. "i'm sory if i suprised you, i heard the singing, and i think i've heard it before. forgive my rudeness, my name is Adun, and i am a wanderer." he said, extending one hand to Javelin, and his other hand to Faedra.

  3. Faedra watched the interaction between the two males carefully, scrutinizing Jace's expression and Adun's greeting with a shrewd eye. She saw no threat in the other male's presence, and she felt at ease with him. Besides, even if he did turn into a problem, she was certain that both she and Jace could handle it. Jace was, after all, in apparent good shape, and Faedre was a skilled fighter after fending for herself nearly her whole life.

She shook Adun's hand warmly and offered him a smile.

I am Faedra, and that was my singing you heard, she said. She felt that it was Jace's right to introduce himself.

OOC: I apologize for the shortness, I have to be leaving the house in five minutes!! I couldn't resist writing though, since it's been a while since I posted.

Javelin was wary by nature and this had been reinforced by training. Making it so that Jace was a rather cautious fellow. One that didn't like wanderers who appeared in the desert, abruptly, in the middle of the night. Where was the best place to murder someone if you didn't want them found? Here. There would be no one to hear them scream, no one to stop the brutal end of their life. Though there were two of them here, Valimos was well aware that a mage who got in the first hit might be able to take one - or even both - of them out. Regardless of the wards and protections that were set on him. It didn't matter, though, as long as this "Adun" didn't do something stupid.

<font color=maroon>"The name's Javelin Valimos."</font> Jace commented as he shook the proffered hand, allowing a slight smile to curl his lips. While Valimos was still on his guard, there was no sign of his own unease anywhere on him. He seemed welcoming enough. Which he was, there was no reason to be rude. Thus the reason he hid his slight discomfort beneath multiple barriers.

  5. "it is nice to meet you both." Adun comented with a smile. "i am out here looking for artifacts, and you two?"

  6. Adun's friendliness was both charming and off-putting to Faedra, someone who grew up learning to always be on guard and cautious of strange behavior. However, she suspected that there was nothing strange about Adun's attitude, and that it was perhaps just his nature. Perhaps he was raised in an environment of tolerance and affection, rather than being abandoned and forced to learn everything the hard way, at the cost of one's innocense.

Actually, I just came out here to do a bit of exploring, and I only met Jace prior to your arrival, she said in responce to Adun's friendly inquiry.

Faedra twisted her neck around and picked a burr out from the fur on her shoulder with her teeth, and then spat it out off to the side. A moth fluttered by and then curiously landed on her ear. She flicked her ear casually to rid herself of the pesky insect, and then watched out of the corner of her eye as it flew off in a disgruntled huff.
The desert air was even cooler now, and the silver black femme found herself relishing the chilled environment. The sand was still pleasantly warm from the fiery desert sun earlier on, and she stretched her limbs out to embrace the heat as she waited for Jace's imput to the conversation.

Dangit... that was a long delay. I had the reply typed up on my disk and never posted it. It seems I have a lot of those. [dies]

It would seem that Adun was unaware of how insincere he seemed to Jace. Maybe it was merely his spy caution, but it was something that kept Valimos from completely opening up. No one knew that Javelin Valimos was a spy, though, so it hardly mattered. To any who recognized the name, he was merely a son among many sons in a family that flourished in the trade of magery. Which was a gift he either hadn't been granted or merely chose not to use. It wasn't in his personality, like spying was. Listening into conversations, reading into them, correctly discovering what it meant, those were his strong points. He had never been one to even dabble in sorcery, though, given the history of mistakes he had been told about his ancestors. Some of which had done absolutely terrible things to themselves because they had not been well trained and their spells had backfired. Besides that, his father wasn't the one who had sired him, so it was a bit of a dispute as to whether or not his mother - Glayce - even had a bit of magic in her bones. Which wasn't really debatable, seeing as some of her ancestors had also been powerful mages.

Yet his wariness wasn't conveyed so that Adun and Faedra could be entirely relaxed in the situation. Given the fact that Javelin was never going to be until he was absolutely sure that the other male was no threat whatsoever. Artifacts, eh? It was a likely story, one easily bought by those who didn't care to dig further. A safe thing, seeing as the desert was full of them. If he was to believe the historians, that was. Archaeological digs weren't uncommon out here, that much was true, and treasure hunters were far from rare. That didn't mean that he believed Adun, all things considered, merely that it appeared to be an alibi that might be reality. Faedra spoke, then, and he gave a slight grin at the word "met". It had been a rather odd way to get to know someone.

<font color=maroon>"I was sandboarding."</font> Javelin commented as way of explanation for his presence, though he found no need to continue with anything more than exactly what he had been doing. Not elaborating on what he had - or might have - done afterward.
