  1. Mercurius turned around to face Koani Grader. "Fues! E nedhs ra yv tyna uttetsumka! Uvsaj ull, E un azsjanali vuts." he said, placing a hand on one of the hard chairs. "Give a dragon a chance."

He was indeed, the fastest dragon in the room, and could be of some use. At least that was what he hoped. He looked down to the cold flooring of the warehouse. Thoughts falling away into the cold realms of Fronima. Now, he could only hope for an answer. Right or wrong, did not matter. Only the true meaning would.

Wings fluttering once more, he decided to convince them one last time. "E kum thyf iyo." he said, near ready to run. He could circle the entire room in a matter of seconds. Auburn hair, blowing in the winds created by the speedy wings, he lowered a knee to the ground. He was ready to show the world that he was not nothing. He was something. He was Mercurius.

  2. Koani bit back a harsh reply. It was calm, cold Vythe who spoke her thoughts instead. "How fast do you think you can make yourself disappear?" He queried, his voice deep and emotionless. He was getting to be just a little more than just irritable now and was rapidly falling into an ornery disposition. At last they had figured out what he wanted though. Employment. And he was willing to give them a display of his skills right then and there. Koani shook her head, putting her right hand up as if to ward the stranger away.

"No," she began, "you don't need to do that. I'm sure that you're fast. Exceptionally so. But... whatever speed you have cannot make up for your lack of skill and tact that you've already displayed. If it really is a working place you're looking for... I'm not the one that you should be appealing to. I only choose my own personal guards. Everything else is done through a few Services that my father and I monitor from time to time. They have their own trials and training methods of course, and several divisions. You'd need training of course. I can easily tell you're too green for any type of job with us at the moment. Maybe after a while though, and if your background check comes back positive..."

She cast a brief glance at Vythe. He clicked his tongue in mild annoyance. Apparently whatever he had already dug up on Mercurius via his telelink hadn't told him anything of much importance or help. "In either case, this is neither the time, nor the place for a job interview." This was starting to get ridiculous.

  3. <blockquote>Jace was really quite glad that they had this little talk, in which Mercy made a fool of himself and promptly gained a dislike among the Grader's more inner circle. He was not foolish enough to consider himself particularly important in the long run, but Vythe was with Koani often enough to really be considered a companion. To get on his bad side was a very bad idea indeed and that was a border that Mercurius had long ago crossed, one were dragons resided. Dragons that were this close to letting loose some fire.

<font color=darkred>"It would have been nice if you had brought this up earlier. If you had, maybe we would have been in a better mood. As it is, we are tired of you. Now, last chance, walk on your own, or we make you."</font> It wasn't so much a threat as a statement of fact. If Mercy didn't hustle, then the spy and the bodyguard would grab him and throw him bodily out of the building. None too lightly, either.

The spy was, frankly, rather tired of trying to get him to leave nicely and he would be rather glad if Mercy refused this last offer. It would mean he could give the kid a personal faceplant as a goodbye.

Mercurius had one last thing to say before he ran out of the room. It was not to the other dragon, only to Koani. "Jananraj, Iyo uja ymli u pjudym." he said in the same thought speech. In an instant he was gone, already out of the room. The event that had happened would be forever in his mind. It was a demonic change in his life.

  5. "Gee, thanks for the reminder," Koani muttered darkly under her breath. Mercurius had already left though. Out of the building, out the door, and out into the cold Ajita night air. Koani was relieved of course. She hadn't liked the tension at all that had been building in the medium sized break room... and was immensely glad that Mercurius had decided to leave when he did. These sort of situations were what bred headaches. Koani wandered slowly over to the break room's kitchenette. She began to run some water and flick a few switches. "Coffee?" She queried, casting a small look over her shoulder at the two males. Vythe had been checking the door and making sure that it was secure again while running a few diagnostic radio wave tests. She was making a pot whether the two of them wanted some or not. Of course, drinking such a thing at this time of night was a little out of the ordinary. She would have much rather preferred some alcohol right about now, but it always made her a little sleepy. She felt like she could drop into a deep unconscious sleep right at that very moment. But, oh, the night was still young and there was plenty more to do!

Vythe shook his head gently, declining the offer. He patted the door to the outside, then did something uncharacteristic of him. He laughed. It was a deep laugh, more of a chuckle than anything and only lasted a few seconds. Koani paused in her activities in order to look at him, a deep frown on her face. "What's so funny?" she asked.

"Well, for the longest time, I thought that Mercurius character was going to propose to you." Vythe explained, although his laugh had dried up, the remnants of a smile still remained etched on his face. "What with his love and dream talk."

Koani's eyes flashed, irritated by the mere suggestion. Vythe was only kidding around now that they were 'alone' again, and he did have the command to speak freely. Making light of the situation. She snapped her teeth at him in an angry jest from across the room. He only smiled politely in response.

With the coffee quickly brewed and a warm mug in her hand, all of the attention in the room focused in on Javelin. Despite the delay, they hadn't lost too much time to their interloper. Now they could get down to the real reason for this meeting. "Mm, let's get down to it then, shall we?" Koani said. She'd moved to hover around the chair she had been leaning against previously. She set her mug on the side table beside the chair. Then Koani held her breath against any sort of pain that might ensue from her movements and settled herself carefully into the chair. Vythe had made a slight motion as to help her, but had backed off just as quickly. Now he plopped himself onto one of the couches on the end nearest Koani.
