<blockquote>WILD TIGERS I HAVE KNOWN Arctic - the posting order was established for a reason. LACING ME DOWN, POUNCIN' AROUND Req wasn’t sure what time it was – 9, 10? He had slim, brittle, squared-off wrists, and never wore a watch, and so had to rely on street-clocks: its buckle and strap against his veins made him feel as queasy as though a doctor was permanently taking his pulse. Jello appeared, then, just as he finished tuning his guitar. "Hey," he cooed, and poked his lips out at at the keyboardist - was it a grin or a gesture of uncertanity? "D'awww, thanks, Jel'," 'Quiem purred huskily, leaning forwards at the waist so that he was looking up heatedly at Jello, his face half-hidden by a curtain of bicolored hair. "Yeah, he'll be here. William - hai!" The rockstar straightened, then, leaning back in his chair - it teetered dangerously, but then he steadied it with wide-planted feet, and began to speak: "I've gotten a bassist. He's... an old friend of my father's - Attrius Infernus. You might have heard of him - he was the Medhsjyta's half-brother." He offered a noncommital, distinctly feline roll of his snake-tattooed shoulders. Nell's leaving the band was a delicate topic for all of them - no one dared breach the subject. "Anyhow, he's pretty good. I'll go grab him in a moment... think he's having a smoke." --- The shadows assumed the shape of a revolver against his head. Atti sucked on the last of his cigarette, nearly down to the fiter, inhaling a few ratcheting breaths through his side teeth. A trellis of shadows crosshatched his face, rimming the smoky blue infuscation of his eyes with deep underscorings. Up he rose from his haunches, and then walked to the other side of the stage, slipping forwards to where the rest of the band was. Absently, he flicked his cigarette butt into a trashcan, and said, "hey."
OOC: Gah! Short post! IC: "Heya, Sarah," Karma looked around. "Aren't the other's here. You did want to do a few songs right?"
Kuma again heard a familiar voice, this time able to pinpoint it. Jumping off the stage, he quickly made his way over to his bandmates, struggling to hear them over the crowd. Finally, he saw Sarah and grinned. <span style='color:gray'>"That's the last time I tune out during a band meeting." </span> He said by way of greeting, grinning at Sarah and Karma. <span style='color:gray'>"So, when do we go on? Where's everyone else?"</span>
Krike let out something that sound like a cross between a sigh and a chuckle. He shoved his left hand in his pocket and pointed at her with his right to add effect to his words. "I would have felt something, yeah." He said as if the thill had said a joke. Krike had picked up on all of what the Khell meant. Front his standing, she wanted him to get out of her face. "Look, you obviously don't have the slightest as to who I am, do ya?" He was about to say more before another's words, sounding as if directed at him, broke in. He turned to see the darkly-dress noitie staring at him with affection. He softly growl at his misfortune at being double-teamed before he was going to 'put the thill in her place'. He turned to the Khell and mouthed the word "Later" before slowly backing away from her, hoping the noitie fan would follow. He still felt the stare of the Khell from the distance he made from her. He exchanged it with his own stare, giving the message for her to leave him alone. He turned to the young fan with a friendly smile, like the one he gave most fans, and bent over so he was at eye-level with her. "Yyyeah... Hailey." He chuckled to himself, trying hard to look for her in his memory. As he remembered, he was pretty high on life that night. "Barely recognized you in that costume there. As you plainly see, I didn't bother dressin' up for this occasion." In all truth, he didn't recognize her at all.
Codat stifled a giggle. He liked Szambel immensely and could easily tell why Vythe liked him as their second-in-command. Their abilities just complimented each other well. Codat on the other hand was still finding his niche. “Shumc iyo, Abigail. 'Bel and I, well our costumes are somewhat based on an aktrieor. It seemed fitting at the time," came Koani's response. The Grader liked the aktrieor in particular due to its immunity toward poisons. Szambel dipped his head. “Counter-espionage is why we rely on our friends and other allies such as yourself, Ms. Wuos. The more friendly pairs of eyes that we have, the easier it becomes to detect those whose intentions are less than desirable." It was a difficult job that often had Szambel running high on his instincts, eyes watching for the faintest slight of hand or misplaced movement. Due to his developing situation at home, it was becoming more and more difficult for him to put other's safety before his own. “Ack Dyl'ni!" Koani shouted as she was enveloped in a tight hug by Dylan. The arden's pounce had come as a complete surprise as her attention had been focused fully upon Abigail and Szambel. Koani laughingly disentangled herself from Dylan's grasp so that she held him now at arm's length. “Have you been drinking?" The scent of alcohol, while faint, was rather unmistakable to Koani. ~ Vythe was used to others giving him a wide berth. He wasn't entirely sure why people feared him – most likely they feared the power he was associated with, so he tried not to take it too personally. It was times like these that he thought about Quenetym... Quen was perhaps one of the most dangerous figures that he knew. However, unlike Vythe who was known almost all over, Quen was more recognizable and known among the criminal world. He could almost be considered a vigilante, were he not quietly employed by the Grader Corporation as well. With his ears pinned back against his skull, Vythe wrapped up his little tour of the stage. He had been around long enough to know that there were different strains of “popularity," and that he wasn't all that fond of a lot of them. Despite all of that, he'd exchanged his fair share of words with various managers and security personnel. They at least appeared to have everything under control here – most had been in the security business for years, so they knew what to expect. Vythe didn't have to chide anyone. “I beg your pardon, but would you happen to be Ms. Sonyarit?" Vythe said as he came upon a brightly coloured khell female. She seemed a little preoccupied with one of the performers, so the arden was a little hesitant to interject at first. “I'm Vythe Vidallyn, Head of Security for the Graders. I've heard a bit about you and was wondering if you'd like to do a walk around the perimeter with me."
<center><table width="90%" cellpadding=10><tr><td> <font face=verdana style="font-size:12px; line-height:16px;"> Hailey-tenn tried hard to soften the pull on her lips, the one that tugged them into a grin of light-headed glee. She'd followed Krike deeper into the crowd and, by then, had long forgotten the security guard he'd been making talk with. Here he was, and oh, how he advanced upon her with what looked like pointed intention... shouldn't young thills be leery of looks like that? Y'know, the look of wolves smiling sharp and pearly, heady and hungry, ready to launch at the jugular when you were looking over your shoulder..? Or into your drink? Poor wolf, you're only doing what you know best. Lamaria wasn't going to stand by and let the locusts take the crop, though. Her sharp-eyes said it all. And surely Krike was able to read that message, because he'd sent a look back over her way, almost as if he were performing a safety check. 'I know who you are,' she thought grimly with her teeth set strong against one another, 'and yor coming with me.' She moved forward to advance upon him -- meanwhile, Hailey was tossing her hair, laughing a champagne-bubbly laughter that took hold of one too many highschool nioti. Krike was certainly a step up from them. Again, she couldn't help her grin. "You look good enough to me... so, how long til you're on stage? Maybe... we could..." The words trailed off. Hailey-tenn's eyes were dark, reminiscent of moonstruck obsidian, and suggestive. She had drugs and Krike, well, he had rock'n'roll. What were they missing, again? Before anything more could spring from her mouth or his, Lamaria cut in with her presence. She'd heard enough to understand that the arden was one of the performers, his guitar a wise tipoff, although she didn't know or care what degree of fame (or infamy) he had. <font color=deeppink>"Ey, I heard backstage needs ye, sir,"</font> the khell said in reaffirming baritone, the notes of which sent the youthful Hailey-tenn scampering off in the other direction. She'd just been about to produce a happy baggy of angel dust, too. Who knew? In any case, Lamaria was just pointing the musician in the direction of the backstage area when Vythe came about. She'd done enough to get Krike's attention and scare away his makeshift fan club... and hopefully without any repercussion. Feeling that she was finished, she turned toward Vythe with a polite smile. <font color=deeppink>"Ah, yes Vidallyn'ba, I'd be Lamaria Sonyarit. I have heard much about you,"</font> she replied a little shakily. She knew of Vythe. She knew the of Graders, too. And she hoped sure as hell that rockstar wouldn't come back on her all crabby-likes because if Vythe wanted to walk with her, it likely meant business. Business, indeed... <font color=deeppink>"I have the time to walk."</font> </tr></td></table>
OOC: Due to taking so long, Rattus will be skipped. Leaf came up with it. IC: Will smiled at the greeting that the guitarist gave him. With a count, there was only three members. One was missing. William and no one else knew what happened to Nell, only that he left, but for what reason? The bassist is an important part of a band. Without him, Parallax would be incomplete. Think of the humiliation. However, things seemed to be in the clear for now. "I've gotten a bassist. He's... an old friend of my father's - Attrius Infernus. You might have heard of him - he was the Medhsjyta's half-brother." Attrius Infernus? The One Winged Angel heard of that name many times before. Just recently, he tried to commit suicide, but thankfully, he recovered. Will pondered on the topic for a moment, and gave an answer. "Yes, wasn't he one that almost committed suicide, but has recovered?" He said this while looking slightly up, then to Requiem. William heard a voice from the doorway. "Hey." He looked around and saw a dark pelted figure with wierd marks on his arms and his shoulder. From the sight of him, Will could tell that he was Attrius. From the top of his head to his feet, Will examined him. Will looked back up at his dark face and said politely, "Hi there." Sarah stared at Kuma and Karma when they asked about the others. What was she going to say? We can't go on, the others aren't showing up? Or look, we can't go on? She had to think of something before it was her turned to go on stage. Come to think of it, she was going on after Requiem, so she doesn't have long to go. What was she going to do. She had to do something to fix this problem. "Well, hehe...um... you see... Roland and Terry are, ah, not...coming. They can't make it. This is a problem because I don't know what to do." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Shumc iyo, Abigail. 'Bel and I, well our costumes are somewhat based on an aktrieor. It seemed fitting at the time," Abbs looked at the dress that Koani had on. It looked nice. Akterior wasn't a word familiar to her. She never even heard of a akterieor, what ever it was. Upon the many creatures of Ramath has nutured that Abi knows about, she never has seen one, or heard of one. "I...don't know what a aktrieor is, sorry." “Counter-espionage is why we rely on our friends and other allies such as yourself, Ms. Wuos. The more friendly pairs of eyes that we have, the easier it becomes to detect those whose intentions are less than desirable." Abi looked at 'Bel as a reply to his answer to her question earlier about counter-espionage. The dark blueish pruple thill started to think that he was clueless. Sometimes those who say they are friends sometimes to be the enemy. Surely 'Bel knew that. If not, then he could be dead within the minute. That's why that sometimes, you need to suspect everyone. "Well, those who say are allies sometimes are deceivers. You should know that." Not long after, an ardan came around and assalted Koani with a hug. Abi saw that as a cute thing. That looked like love to her. Someday, hopefully Abi would get some of that. Well, there is a time and a place and today and here isn't. She had something on her mind for a moment about Yumi. She should be here by now. Abbs looked around. "Where is she?" Abbs started to get worried that she might not be coming. The day was here, and Yumi was glad. She was hoping that there would be something like and with her help, and some of the other sponser's help, it became possible. Yumi, with her Khellin feeling, took a breath of relief. "Finally, it has become true." With another breath, she started to think if Abi was here. She had to be because Yumi made sure that her name was on the list. She looked around. Nothing. She thought to look for her, but mabye that was like intruding if she was busy with something. Yumi didn't care. Instead, he finished her drink, and went to look. She passed a few groups of Pendragons, chatting away about things that were between them. The Khell stopped. She heard a voice most familiar to her ears. She turned and saw the back of her friend. Yumi had a trick to play. She slowly walked behind Abi and stood still, hoping that Abi wouldn't notice her. Like old times, they played this trick on each other when only young.
OOC: pc is fixed and is up and running again IC: As razorback made his way to the back of the stage he showed his pass to the guards and was allowed to proceed into the back stage area he wondered if the event organizers had gotten what he asked for although he did have his bare essentials for what he was going to do while he was attending the event. "<span style='color:red'>Ugh...man this stuff's heavy... maybe i shouldnt have brung all of my cooking utensils</span>" he muttered under his breath and then looked around...there were a few ardens standing around and he preceeded to ask them where the event organizers were because he had to ask them where he'd be setting up his stuff after all he was going to be cooking for the performers. he also drew a fresh cigerette from his pocket and lit it up and then proceeded to take a long drag from it and then exhaled and he felt better as the nicotene started taking effect. walking up to the group he asked "<span style='color:red'>excuse me but you wouldn't know where the event organizers are would you</span>?"
Karma saw Kuma come over to them. After Kuma was done talking Karma said, "I hope that Roland manages to get here. Won't be much of a gig if we don't have drums." He looked towards Sarah, "You wouldn't happen to know anyone who can sub for that, would you?"
Karma frowned, scratching the back of his head thoughtfully. <span style='color:gray'>"Well...I can sub for Terry, if it comes down to it, but I'm not sure what we can do about the drums...I can't believe Roland can't make it!"</span> He frowned, tapping his fingers on his leg as he thought of anyone he might know who could sub for either missing band-mate.
Krike was laughing along with the young thill, making small talk. He had nearly forgotten about the Khell, thanks to a rather short attention span at the moment. He noticed Hailey was starting to trail off on her words. A good look at her easily told that she was on some sort of drug, of which Krike would have no part in. He was about to open his mouth to say something, the Khell from before spoke up, scaring off the fan. He turned around on his heel quickly and just gave her a stare. After a brief moment of silence, he raised his finger accusingly. He hesitated on what to say before he just sighed and stormed off in the direction of backstage. He couldn't wait to get this show done and over with now.
