Pendzez stood still, but not like scared stiff. Instead, like perfectly calm, like he wasn't scared of anything. As he looked at Jynx jump back away from the opening, he turned back to the opening. "The Demon Wall. This will be tricky."
Jynx shook her head. "That is no wall. There is a creature down there, Pendzez!" Her eyes were wide, and she was shaking; there was just something...wrong with the beast. She hadn't seen much of it, but those eyes gave everything away. It wasn't a natural thing, and it scared her.
Pendzez looked at the hole, then to Jynx. He could see that she didn't want to go down there. He approached her, then pulled her close, holding her in his arms. "If you don't want to go, you don't need to. I'll go."
She felt like such a baby. Resting her head on his chest, she closed her eyes. If the thing hurt Pendzez, she'd never forgive herself. If she went down there, she'd forever be afraid of the dark, and she was always in the dark. It was a lose-lose situation. Jynx looked up at Pendzez and sighed; he was the most important. If there was a possibilty of him getting hurt, she'd go with the possibility of her preventing it. There was no other way.
Pendzez looked back at her with his flame red eyes, then gave her a little kiss on her head. "Jynx, I know we're inportant to each other, but you are the most important at this time. I don't you to get hurt. My job is life - threatening, but I see it as gameplay. I don't you to be involved in it."
Jynx looked up and kissed him gently on the cheek, leaning her head against his neck. "Pendzez, if I let that thing hurt you I'd never forgive myself. Let's just...get this over with, kay?" Pulling out of his arms, she grabbed his hand, glancing at the hole again. She could still hear it moving, and it seemed to be getting closer to them. She stuck close to Pendzez, waiting for his next move.
Pendzez nodded his head in reply to Jynx's request. However as he turned to the hole, he could it. He approached the hole, but at the same time, he grabbed his Sol Crest and took it off. He held it up just in the mouth of the hole. "By the power of the Sun and the Order of Reda, REVEAL!" The Sol Crest emitted and bright light with three quarters the brightness as the sun, showing the darkened places and the creature. The appearance of the Demon Wall was undescribable, only the obvious thing was that it was coming out of the wall. Just looking at it was scary. Pendzez turned to Jynx. "Stand back." As Jynx stepped back out of the way, Pendzez turned back to the Demon Wall. "Am I addressing the Demon Wall?" The Creature growled in response. Many would find it hard to understand what it was saying, but Pendzez could understand it quite well. "Ok, just wanted to make sure. Now, during the war between the Adamaints and the North of Ramath, the Ykis created you for the Adamaint Emperor so you can protect the Desert Sapphire. When the Emperor died, the Ykis bound you into a thousand year sleep, but you are awake. Tell me, why is that?" Pendzez was sounding like an interrogator, but he had to know why it was awake. Again, the Wall growled in response, but at the same was moving around. Pendzez listened and was baffled. Something that the Wall said made him wonder. "Sandstorm Frutie? That was seven years ago. You were awake for seven years? How could a sandstorm wake you up again when great magicks were used to put you to sleep?" The Wall was now hissing with anger. It was awake for so long, that it made him angry. Pendzez was still baffled, but this response was different. "Daemons. The energy that the daemons gave off when they were wondering through the sand storm disturbed your peaceful sleep by making the sapphire react. Grant me a request. Let me take the sapphire, so you may sleep for another thousand years." He waited for a reply. The Demon Wall was now furious. He was suppose to guard it, and guard it it shall. Pendzez, full of bravery took his Crest and yelled, "SUN SET!" The Crest changed into a blade, similar to a Flametongue sword, ready to fight.
Jynx stayed back away from the hole, listening to Pendzez speak to it. At each growl, another shiver ran down her spine; it was just so wrong. She closed her eyes, gathering the shreds of her courage as quickly as she could. When she heard Pendzez yell, her eyes flew open, shocked. He had a blade in his hands, and the thing was slowly creeping out of the hole. It truly was indescribable, and she almost turned away, but she refused to abandone Pendzez. Jynx checked to make sure she had her weapons and closed her eyes again, shivering at what she was about to do. Casting a glance at his back, she took off at a run, slamming her body into the thing when it had the least balance. It started to tumble back into the hole, but it lashed out with one strange limb, dragging her quickly after it as it fell. She yelped, hearing the sound echo up the cavern as she tumbled down, down, down... ...and landed on something soft.
Pendzez had no choice. Reasoning with the demon would be impossible, like the last Guardians. A quick blood rush ran through him, making him move. However, he took a step, then Jynx just charged for it. Pendzez wasn't sure why she did it, but with her body, she slammed herself into the creature. Pendzez was amazed to see her such a life-threatening stunt. However, as a retaliation, the demon reached out and pulled her down. P endzez ran as fast as he could, but he was too late. She fell. "JYNX!!!" Pendzez didn't know what to do, but he jumped down the hole. He fell and fell, until he saw groung. With a flap of is wings, he slowed his fall and landed on his feet, but as soon as his feet touched the ground, it felt soft. As he looked down, he saw a grass patch with flowers. "Flowers?" He didn't bother about it. He looked around and saw Jynx. He ran to her. "Are you all right?"
Jynx frowned as she studied the flowers around her, feeling a strange sense of peace. This must be what magic they used to send the beast to sleep; she certainly felt like taking a nap. She looked up as Pendzez appeared above her. Pushing herself up, she rubbed her head, slightly dazed. "Yeah...yeah, I'm fine." She answered, wondering why her head felt so clouded. Blinking, she looked up at him, confused. "Where are we?"
Pendzez looked around at the flowers. What were flowers doing down here, with no water or light, unless... "Mabye, this is the Adamaint's secret garden. Of course. The Ykis used the flowers to seal it, because these are Nyca Lilies, a rare flower that is said to seal away demons." He turned to a shining gem that was amongst a bushel of Nyca Lilies. It was the Desert Sapphire. "And the Nyca Lilies is what contain the power. But the Daemons that passed during the sandstorm, their magickal energy must have disturbed the Sapphire, making the Lilies power weaken, thus awaking the Wall." Pendzez looked up and saw the Wall coming down to them, letting off light growls, like it was trying to talk. Pendzez listened to it, this time it sounded calm, not angry. "You Poor Creature. You didn't find true peace, they just put your soul and spirit into this artifical body, didn't they?" The Demon then started whimpering, like it was crying, but with no tears. Pendzez started to pity it, for now he knew the truth of the Adamaint Ykis. "Do you want me to release you, so you may find eternal rest?" The Wall moved his head, as if he was saying yes to Pendzez's request. Pendzez replied, "Ok." He lifted his Crest up and in a soft voice "I release you from your demonic bonds." The Sol Crest then emitted a shining light that shone on the Demon, cause it to back up against the wall, then a ghostly, shining blue figure appeared from the Creature As the light shone on the Demon, it backed up against the wall. A body, a shining blue ghost body appeared from the Demon before it turned into stone and shattered. The Yki ghost stood looking at Pendzez. Pendzez looked back the ghost while lowering his Crest from it's presence. Pendzez walked up to the ghost and put his right hand on its left should. "You are free. May you find peace." He removed his hand. The ghost smiled for now it was free from it's burden of duty. It then started to dissolve into small particles of light then flew away into the Fronima. Pendzez witnessed it's passing untill it was gone. He turned to Jynx with a botha slight sad look and an angry look. "Those Ykis used the soul of that Yki to make the Demon Wall real. When I mentioned to you what and how it happened, it remembered. Now he's free."
Tilting her head slightly, Jynx looked around at the Nyca Lilies, picking one. It wilted and died in her hand, unable to live without the others. It was sad, really, that someone would do that to another. Trying to take her mind off it, she turned to Pendzez, smiling though her eyes were sad. "Well, that was quite an unexpected adventure. Let's get out of here and wait out this storm. It's cold down here." She shivered, spreading her wings and lifting herself out of the cave. Jynx looked back, making sure Pendzez was coming, and waited at the top for him.
Pendzez watched and waited for Jynx to get back to the opening. As she did, he stayed behind to finish his mission. He turned to look at the Sapphire and reached out to take it. As he touched it, he felt a strange magickal energy that ran through him, but faded as he picked it up. The Sapphire emitted a light, then all the Nyca Lillies whithered and died. It was upsetting to see such pretty flowers die, but it was the way of life. With the Sapphire, Pendzez looked up at the opening and flapped his wings to reach it. As he landed, he looked at Jynx. "Mission Complete! And I think it is best to step away from the hole." He pushed her back and moved away from the opening, for it was being covered magically with a wall that appeared.. Pendzez then looked at the Desert Sapphire, throwing it up into the air and catching it in his hand. "That is another treasure of the Adamaint's found."
OOC: Sorry, I'm swamped with homework. >.< IC: Jynx grinned, watching him. "That's great! You did it!" She kissed his cheek, smiling as she took his hand and pulled him out of the library. "Now, let's go sit by the fire and wait for the storm to let up. I'm freezing." She hurried through the dark cave, sticking close to Pendzez for warmth.
Pendzez froze for a split second when Jynx kissed his cheek, but this was something he was used to. He was pulled by her out of the library. The mention of a fire for warmth was a sound of invigoration for Pendzez. He needed warmth to help keep him going. "Sounds like a plan," he said with a smile.
Jynx worked her way to the front cavern, lighting the fire quickly. She settled down close enough to singe her fur if she wasn't careful and smiled brightly, rubbing her arms. It was getting late, and soon enough she'd have to make up a bed for Pendzez, but for now she focused on warming up.
