Pendzez regained himself. "Well, me and my sister were able to cope. She does ask me about mother, like who was she, or what she looked like." As Pendzez turned to Jynx, he saw tears running down from her eyes. "It's sad. I know."
Jynx looked up hesitantly, not sure what she should do now. She looked around before quickly changing the subject, faking a smile. "I think it's been ten minutes now. Um...do you think that dragon is finished yet?" She asked.
Pendzez knew that Jynx was changing the subject, so he didn't bother about it. "Um, Shen should be calling about..." Then Pendzez's PDA rang. "Now." Pendzez got out his PDA and pressed answer. "Pendzez, I've translated the writing. It says, 'If Thy will is strong, Thou shalt be allowed to enter.'" Pendzez looked at the rock, giving it another examination. "Ok, thanks. Over and out." He canceled the trnsmission and put the PDA a in his bag.
Jynx studied the writing, frowning slightly. If Thy will is strong... It sounded...easy. A little too easy, actually. She glanced at Pendzez, wondering what he would do.
Pendzez looked at Jynx. "Well, I don't know what to do. Unless you have a strong will, what should we do?"
Jynx hesitated, thinking it through. "It seems...too easy. Maybe it's a test." She suggested, frowning a little.
Pendzez obviously knew what was going on, so he thought saying it two terren miles a minute. "No, it's just obvious. If we were to minimize the power of the rock to zero percent, we can destroy it. However, if maximize the power of my Sol Crest with your Daemon and Darkness Lore techniques, we can break the barrier." As Pendzez looked at Jynx, he could see that she didn't catch any word he said. "Um, did you catch that?"
Jynx blinked, confused, and went back over it slowly. She shook her head, smiling apologetically at Pendzez. "Sorry, I couldn't quite understand that. Could you explain it?" She asked, feeling stupid.
Pendzez knew that she was going to say that, so he had an idea. He reached into his bag and pulled out an object shaped like a dagger, with the blade that is forged like a flame. "This dagger has the blade of fire. I want you to take it and slash the rock."
Jynx smiled. "Oh, ok." She took the dagger, going over to the rock. Holding it firmly, she slashed the rock harshly, wondering what would happen.
As Jynx slashed the rock the Flame Dagger, he magic sealing the rock vanished and the rock was cut in half. He turned to Jynx, "The dagger is made of the same magicks that made my Sol Pedant. I was able to extract some magick from it and used it to help forge the dagger. The blade was like a normal shape, but the magicks that was used gave the blade the flame shape. When you touched the dagger, the magicks from it went through your body and synchronized with yours, so if I'm correct, you have a strong will. I too have a strong will, but it is a bit too strong."
Jynx gazed into the opening, frowning a little. She picked up a pebble and threw it into the opening, waiting for it to clatter inside. After a long moment, she heard a faint noise, indicating it hit something rather far down. She took a couple steps forward, hanging on to the opening as she looked for any source of light. "Well, I'm glad we didn't decide to just walk in. I don't know about you, but I can't really fly when I'm surprised by a fall like that." She commented, turning to smile at Pendzez.
Pendzez looked into the dark opening. "Well, it's not the darkness I'm not worried about. It's the Demon Wall I'm worried about. If I had Ultua Lights, we could throw them in and see how far it is."
Jynx thought for a moment, tapping her claws against the rock, befre she turned and looked at the library. Hmm...no Ultua Lights; Amaroq must have taken them. Maybe... She went to a nearby shelf, pulling off a box, and lifted the lid. She pulled out a flare and set the box down, going to the opening again. She lit the flare and threw it in, watching the flashing lights fall. It hit the bottom, still going, before something...moved. She saw the flash of what looked like an eye before it went dark once more. She glanced at Pendzez, eyes wide. "Please tell me you saw that too."
Pendzez looked at Jynx as she looked a tad scared abput something, like something frightened her. "See what? What did you see?"
Jynx shook her head, eyeing the dark distrustfully. I must be losing my mind. She thought, the hairs on the back of her neck raised, blue eyes fixed on the opening. "Never mind. It...it was nothing." She looked to Pendzez, waiting for his next move.
Jynx hesitated before getting another flare, tugging Pendzez over. "Watch. Something moves." She lit the flare, tossing it in, and watched intently. Again, it hit that same something and it moved. She saw the eye again, the hair on the back of her neck rising once more. But this time, the thing kept moving, and she heard the click of claws on rock. She jumped back, away from the opening, and looked at Pendzez. "I'm not going in there with that thing." She told him, wrapping her arms around herself and trying to calm down.
