Pendzez took a stretch. "Soda sounds fine, thanks." Pendzez then walked up to Jynx to help her look. "Need help?" Pendzez was just tall enough to see the top shelf. He looked and saw a bottle that looked like soda. He got it out and showed Jynx to see if it was soda.
Jynx smiled at Pendzez. "That's it. Thanks." She turned, pulling out a bottle of water for herself, and closed the cabinet. "How do you like your steak cooked?" She asked, starting to turn toward the fire. She took a seat near the ledge, putting her bottle down. "So, what brings you to the desert?" She asked.
Pendzez smiled when Jynx said it was soda. He then walked to a wall then slowly stood up against it. "I like my steak rare, thanks." When Jynx asked what brought him to the desert, he replied back, "Treasure hunt, as always." He twisted the lid off the bottle and took a sip.
Jynx nodded, taking a sip of her water. Her ears perked at his answer and she looked at him, smiling. "What are you looking for? Maybe I can help." She offered, pulling the pan off the ledge and turning the steaks before putting it back.
Pendzez leaned his head back on the wall. "Two days ago, The Olsenu was getting signals originating from here, the Tmu Desert. We have reasons to believe that it's the Desert Sapphire. Know anything about it?"
Jynx thought for a moment, pulling out the steaks and going over to put them on plates. "The Desert Sapphire...yeah, I know it." Se replied carefully. Must have come out of the dream web, She thought worried. "Whyis it so important?" She asked.
Pendzez walked to a table that was there. "Besides the Diamond Thorn, the Desert Sapphire is one of the 9 treasures of the Adamaint Empire." He pulled out a chair and sat down.
Jynx nodded, setting his plate in front of him with a knife and fork. She sat across from him in the only other seat and started cutting her steak. "Isn't there supposed to be a gaurdian for each of the Treasures of the Adamaint Empire? I thought they were all supposed to be hidden, scattered around Ramath-lehi." She said, confused.
Pendzez picked up a knife and fork then started cutting up the steak. "Yeah well, the guardian is said to be the walls." He atre a piece of steak he cut off. "A creature that is part of the walls. Some call it a 'Demon Wall'."
Jynx took a few bites, considering his words. "Interesting. Where were you going to look for the Desert Sapphire?" She asked.
Pendzez looked at Jynx with his burning red eyes. "Well, here for starters. Come to think of it, when you came here, was there any kind of a false wall or an oddly shaped rock?" He looked around the kitchen but didn't notice anything. I hope the Harbinger will be ok in the sandstorm, he thought examining the kitchen again.
Jynx thought for a moment. "No, this was just a regular network of caves. We haven't explored the entire network, though. I'm sure there could be something deeper." She took a few more bites, though she really wasn't feeling hungry anymore.
Pendzez looked at Jynx with fire red eyes and was confused. "Hmm, mabye the Harbinger can pinpoint the exact location. I can't really get to it until the sandstorm dies down." He took another piece of the steak. "The Harbinger is my ship and the Olsenu is the flagship of the Clan Klentur."
Jynx nodded, frowning in thought. "These storms can last a while, you know. The last one we had lasted for about a week before it died down enough to move around the desert. Two more weeks before the sky was clear again." She warned, looking down at her plate before offering it silently to Pendzez.
"Hmm" Pendzez thought for a moment. "Well, my next assignment is in the next two weeks. I guess I can stay for a while." He then remembered. "Oh, Flay rang me the other day day saying that Jutwras visited her. She hasn't seen him in a long time."
Jynx looked up, smiling. "That's wonderful. I'm glad she got to see him again." She picked her plate up, putting the bone aside and washing the plate. Then she went back over, tossing the bone into the fire. "We could look through the caves while we wait for the storm to let up. Even if we can't pinpoint the exact location with the Harbringer, I'm sure we can get close."
Pendzez though for a sec. "Yeah, we could. Mabye it's in this cave." He picked up his plate then threw the bone into the fire. He went to wash it. "You know, mabye, that's if you want to, can come aboard the Olsenu and mabye make you a Treasure Hunter or Bounty Hunter."
Jynx thought for a moment. "There is one cave that seems a little...off. We could look there first." She got up, smiling as she tok the plate. "Don't worry about it, I'll get it." She said quietly, smiling again. She paused at his next words, hesitating. "I don't know...I don't think I'd be very good at that." She said hesitantly.
Pendzez looked at Jynx. "Well it must be near." When Jynx walked over to take the plate, Pendzez handed her the plate. "Thanks." Jynx showed hesitation when talking about boarding the Olsenu. "Well, will you at least come aboard the Olsenu?"
Jynx finished washing and put the plate away, thinking. "Sure, I suppose I could do that." She paused, frowning down at the empty sink before turning back to Pendzez with a smile. "Let me go get a few things from my room and then we can search for your Sapphire." She grinned before turning to walk down the dark passage across the cave.
