Stops and looks over her shoulder at the two, grins big and sits down. Scratches her ear and glares slightly at the open desert. "Well, do you want me to hunt for something? Or tag along to look?"
Nebai nods, "I think that'll work. You'll probably be more help than someone I know." The orange-hued twin shoots a death-glare back at her sibling. Temkaja snorts airily. She wouldn't resort to fighting. Dirty. Nebai turns her head back around, smirking, as they walk. She then looks down at Qamu, "So, how good are you at hunting?" She wasn't being arrogant, the question was to find out what experience the niotie had, and if she had none or little, if she'd mind Nebai sharing her knowledge.
Grins and looks out over the desert, licks her lips slowly and glares slightly. Laughs a bit and looks back to Nedai. Telepaths with her. [I know a lot about hunting, small prey I mean...but larger prey, you'll have to give me a few pointers.] Grins nervously and looks down.
Nebai nods, {I'll have to see how you are with small prey, but with larger prey the only true thing to memorize, is always be able to run faster than what you're attempting to catch.} She grins, {If you can run faster, then you know that if they turn around and decide to chase, you can leave them in the dust. And if you can't run faster, then you've gotta have another plan, either an escape plan should the tables turn, or to hunt something smaller!} The orange-hued twin looks forward over the desert. One reason she didn't want to go there, in addition to the lack of sources of fresh water, were the animals. She didn't want to meet up with a sand tmuka any time soon. But I would. Temkaja had been reading her twins' thoughts. You'd just want me to catch it, and risk dying, so you can milk it for your poison needles. Temkaja grins, though since their more private conversations were on a 'frequency' not even the most skilled at telepathy could hear, it would appear she was grinning to herself - going quite looney. Nebai looks down at Qamu, speaking aloud, "What do you prefer to hunt?" she glances back, "I'll eat anything. But Temkaja won't eat it unless it's cooked." "Cooked is healthy, I'll have you know." Temkaja puts in. Nebai smirks, "She just can't stand the sight of raw meat." The twins chorus together, Nebai mocking, Temkaja being adamant, "Dirty."
"Well, the biggest creature that I ever truely hunted was the daneyrian, but anything smaller then that I can hunt as well." Rubs her forepaw on the ground slowly then looks back up at Nedai. "So, that's about as much as I can do for myself since I'm this size." loks over her shoulder at Kaja and grins slightly, then giggles. "So you can't have meat raw?" Looks away from her slowly and glares at the ground. "My mother never fed me any thing that was cooked, besides Cruork meat."
Temkaja shakes her head, "If it's not cooked it's dripping, and it probably has a face. I refuse to eat something still staring at me." she shudders. Nebai laughs. Nebai then looks at Qamu, "Don't worry about being small. You'll find a way around it. And you'll probably be better off for it, because you can hide where others can't, being far too big." Temkaja was still talking to herself, "Ugh. Slimy, bloody meat. Pshaw. Can't imagine having to eat that. I'd eat insects before I'd eat raw meat." a pause, "Now, cooked, mmm, what a delight. Flamed, perfectly. Always well done.. sometimes very well done. A little crispy.. perfect." she had her eyes closed as she walked, savoring the thought of her last good meal.
"Well, I'll kept that in mind when I have to find a way to get away with my life." Looks up at Nedai and grins big at her then looks back over her shoulder at Kaja. "You're very strange...", laughs and looks back ahead.
Nebai chuckles at Qamu, "Oh, you said it, alright.." Temkaja closes her eyes and raises her nose into the air, "Well 'hmph' to the two of you!" With her eyes closed and nose in the air, she misses a little dip in the ground, and with a paw snagged in a pothole, she stumbles. Nebai turns to look at her twin, slightly concerned for her wellbeing, but Temkaja had already raced to her feet, and stares back with a 'what?' expression. The orange-hued hunter smirks and turns back around, continuing the journey. Temkaja pauses a moment before asking, "So.. when do you think we'll be eating? I'm.. um.. a little hungry.." her stomach growls as if on cue, and the lavender pendragon looks a little bashfull.
Looks back at Kaja and sighs softly shaking her head as she does. "Are you okay, besides the fact of being hungry?" Walks back to Kaja and rubs up against her.
Temkaja nods, "Yes, I'm fine thank you." The thing that was injured most was her pride. But that would very quickly heal. Within the next five minutes, her faux pas would be forgotten completely. "So.. what're we going to hunt?" Nebai stops a moment, and looks around, "Well, we can go back, and try for smaller game either on the plains or in the mountains, or go further into the desert and try an ohrayyin." at her sisters dumb look, she explains, "I saw them when I went scouting, before. They're not too far off." Nebai looks at Qamu, "What do you think?"
Nods to Nedai and sighs slightly. "Well, I don't mind...whatever you see fit." Sits down and stretches as she sits there. Looks up at the sun and glares at it. "We...could wait till later on in the nite before moving into the deserted...so that it won't be so hot."
Nebai nods, she hadn't really thought of that. Well, she wouldn't mind; she was a hunter. But Temkaja would complain and probably scare all prey off for miles. "I guess we go back. Because 'Kaja's hungry, and I doubt she'd let us wait for nightfall." Temkaja smirks. Nebai continues, " 'Kaja, do you want to come hunt?" She already knew the answer, but she figured she'd ask anyway. "Nooo thank you. I'll get the fire started." Temkaja nods, turning around and setting off to pick up twigs. "Bring home something tasty!" Nebai whispers to Qamu, "Puh. I'll hunt her some stinky nyotas." "I heard that!" Nebai smirks and shakes her head, smiling at Qamu, "Shall we?" gesturing toward the more forested and decidedly greener area.
Grins a giggles a bit as she nods to Nedai. Moves out ahead of Nedai and goes into the woods ahead of them. "Well, we try our best to collect you something terribly tasty." Laughs as she moves along.
Nebai continues walking, in vocal silence. But between arguing with Temkaja about how wet sticks didn't burn properly (and how 'Kaja thought they made the food taste better) she discusses their prospective prey with Qamu. {What do you think we should bring back? Trinthil should be around here.. Some inth as well.}
Nods slowly and licks her lips. {That sound great, if it isn't to far out of the way.} Strolls over to a tree and climbs up a bit to get a better view of her hunting ground. Glares out over the grassy nile and grins. Drops back down with grace and lands softly. Looks at Nedai and back to the grassland. {Didn't see anything that can cause us any trouble...so this should be a strait hit and go.} Stumbles out into the grassy naul and moves around slowly in the waves and listens to the sounds of it.
Nebai scans the grass for any sign of unnatural movement. By that, she meant caused by something than the evenly and gently coursing wind. She nods her thanks to the young 'dragon, {Good, If you listen carefully, I think there's something just past that tree..} she nods her head in that direction, {See it? It looks small, but would you rather my flushing it your way to capture and kill, or sneak around a flush it my way, and I'll take it down?}
Grins big and looks the direction of the tree, sees the small creature near the tree. [Flush it to me and I'll take this one...] Nods slowly and licks her lips. [Should be no problem.] Moves towards the tree slowly through the grass. Getting close to the tree as she goes, kneels down in the grass and waits of Nedai to make her move.
The silent huntress walks without making so much as a sound. She circles down wind, so she wouldn't be detected until it was too late. Moving around into the trees, where she could to longer be seen, the orange-hued pendragon spots her prey. A young trinthil, leaving it's hole to an underground system, where it lived, and presumably, many others did, also, was what had been disturbing the bush. With louds yells, barks, and much aggressive jaw-snapping, Nebai streaks out of her hiding place, and lands on top of the hole, preventing the creature from returning to it, in it's fear. The trinthil runs hell-bent away from the much larger Nebai, out of the bushes, and directly towards Qamu.
As the little beast runs towards Qamu she gets up and dashes back at it. Catches the beast into a roll and you hear rustling in the grass and sharp screams of the animal. For a few seconds more the screams carried on till they die out to silences.
Nebai squats down, looking through the brush as Qamu captures and kills the little beast. She grins, watching the young one; and notes she was quite good at hunting. {How many do you think we'll need?} Nebai asks, as the solitary trinthil dies.
