Salme looked at Del quizicaly. She had heard of these warrior type pendragons, going around and picking fights. Just another petty argument I'm sure. He must be exagerating. She assumed, not so ready to beleive that someone she shared a dorm with would really try to kill someone elce. She looked at Jahhar, the two seemed to be hiding something. She shook her head and cleared the thought from her mind. She sat back down on her bed. "I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding." She said looking back at Del. Vlun paced the floor near his own bed, trying to thing of some explination. "Great, locked in. Now what?" He said, oblivious to the conversation taking place without him.
Jahhar raised an eye. "I suggest you start looking for ways to get out of here, because these creatures are gonna try to kill us or do something else, who knows." Jahhar paced around the room. He saw a black foot in the kitchen. He quickly drew one of his knives and drove his knife through the foot in the ground. His knife went through it. Then Jahhar realized that the "foot" he had seen was just something in the room casting shadows. Jahhar got up and looked into the back of the kitchen where the pantry was. Jahhar heard the knocking of something in the pantry. He froze and didn't move. He looked down at the foot shaped shadow and noticed it wasn't there. Jahhar looked for the thing he suspected was making the shadow. It was still there, but the shadow wasn't. Jahhar glanced around him, the shadows seemed to be alive. Then Jahhar realized that his mind was playing tricks on him. Jahhar looked down to the other side of him and saw the foot shaped shadow. Jahhar slowly lifted his head and saw the blank stare of the hideous creature. Jahhar stabbed at its head and it caught his hand. Its face hadn't changed the least bit. It still had the blank cold stare. It then backed away into a wall and seemed to dissapear into the wall. Jahhar rushed foward and stabbed at the wall but with no result except ruining the wall.
Misunderstanding? believe what you want, but he pinned me to a wall and tried to stab me to death, i lost part of my shirt sleeve! the arrival of another creature made Del reach into a small holster on his left hip, and pull out a small steel rod, as it grew to its full staff size, the end splitting into the familiar two prongs, When the thing dissapeared, he relaxed a small bit, and looked around the room, we have a couple of options, one, we challange this thing to some form of duel, two, we bash down the door and run like cowards, or three, figure out what kills it, so, i think we need a plan, and fast, i just hope this doesnt turn out to be like that movie i saw last week, he chuckled, and said, Got anything to eat around here?
Salme had decided to tune out Del. She was not in the mood. Shadow creatures playing games with their heads was bad enough a situation as she needed at the moment. She watched as the creature backed into the wall and left, Jahhar chasing after it. She looked over towards Del. "There are a few things in the fridge I think. But we must stay focused. To chalenge this thing seems increadibly stupid at this point, seing as we have yet to even hurt it. " Vlun walked over to the door of the room. Reaching back to get another handfull of the flames he spoke. "Well Im all for option two." With that he threw the ball of flame letting the fire lick at the door, slowly burning it to ash. He stepped back a couple of steps. As he did he felt a strong wind come up from behind him. The flames billowed, struggling to stay alive. But they where soon blown out. Vlun turned to see a uge hovering face before him, sporting a nasty grin. He conjured up another ball of flame and threw it into the face. The face faded and flame when right through, headed strait towards Slalme.
Jahhar shoved Salme out of the way and then looked at the door. "Escape, quickly!" he shouted. He ran at the door, but before he got very close to it, it regenerated. Jahhar skidded to a half in front of the door. He thought he heard something outside of the door. He bent down and peered under the door. This time he saw a foot, but its toes were long an horrible looked. The foot wasn't like anything Jahhar had seen. He looked around for another escape and spotted the window. He quickly ran up to it and smashed it. He then jumped out. "Come, hurry,"
Works for me! running to the window, You two go first, Again the creature had materialized, charging with an expresion that could have been anger, I hope this thing isn't as tough as it seems, he said, readying his weapon,
Salme was shoved to the ground as the fire ball came towards her. She stood up and gave Vlun a glance could kill. He smiled weakly and shrugged. She shook her head and ran to the window, jumping out as fast as she could. Vlun was quick to follow, not one to be deemed a 'hero' in a situation such as this. He much rather liked the safe route. He jumped out the window and looked back in to the dorm. "Come on, hurry up! You can't fight it with weapons!"
Jahhar noted that Salme and Vlun were getting out, Del though, he needed to get out. "Come on Del!" shouted Jahhar. He flew down to the ground and ran into some woods as fast as he could. By the time he stopped, he realized his foolishness. He had left Salme and Vlun behind, and worse, he was alone in the woods. He looked around. The woods were dark and menacing. He didn't think that the things would have followed him into the woods. He looked around and saw something. He saw the creature walking, but not towards him, it hadn't spotted him. The creature looked more horrible than it did when Jahhar first saw it. Its fingers and toes were longer, it looked like it was half decaying as well. Jahhar didn't even breath because he was afraid that the creature would hear him.
Del reacted immidiately, You're lucky, this time, he leaned one backwards and dived out of the window, straight as an arrow towards the ground, near the bottom, he spread his wings, and swooped in, flying extremly fast by using the momentum from his fall, folding his wings just before he got to the forest, rolling to a stop and springing to his feet, readying his staff, prepared to kick some monster tail, the beast that jahhar had seen, along with two others, came charging through the woods, following the noise, and in a flash, he was in the branches of a tree, looking down at the stupid creatures, Poor sapps, so stupid, how sad, he grinned, watching the things bicker in theyre own strange language,
Salme fell to the ground, landing hard on her feet. Vlun however was not quite as lucky. He had fallen on his feet but he had been slightly off balance, making him topple over into the ground. Salme quickly helped him up and they ran after Jahhar. When they finaly caught up they imediately wished they hadn't. The creature that had been walking around Jahhar was almost right infront of them Vlun was first to gain his wits. Before the creature could spot them, he dove into the underbrush, dragging Salme down with him. "Close one." He wispered, sounding more relaxed than he actualy was. Salme was scared out of her mind. It took all her will power just to keep from screaming then and there. It was times like these when she wished she had taken USEFUL classes, scorcery, spells, weapons anything. "To late for regrets." Se told herself.
The creature looked up at where Del was in the tree. "Foolish mortal," it seemed to whisper. It dissapeared again. Jahhar started breathing as soon as the thing dissapeared. He looked around and using his heat vision, located his friends who had followed him. He looked around. He needed to escape from these creatures, but how? He flew up into a tree and then wished he hadn't done so. He was looking at the creature's back. It slowly turned to face Jahhar. "Leave me be freak!" shouted Jahhar jumping down from the tree. He ran, not caring which way he went. His heart was beating quickly.
Jahhar! This Way! Del shouted, casting a Mage Torch spell, standing near the mouth of a cave, his excellant night vision could eaisily penitrate the gloom, but he didn't know about anyone else...
This time it was Salme who reacted first. Pulling Vlun on to his feet, she ran towards the voice of Del. Asuming it was some safe spot or something of the like. She ran through underbrush, aware of the shadow creatures around them by only small whisps of smoke. They seemed to be taunting her, as if they knew they could let her by now for she would not be hard to dispence of latter. She practicaly dove into the mouth of the cave. Her eyes did not adjust very quickly in the gloom and she tripped on a rock and laid there in the dark. She did not dare move, she felt safe enough. Vlun had followed close behind her, flames in his hands at the ready. When they reached the cave he took a quick peek in before extingushing the flames and walking inside. He did his best to minimize the glow of the fire that crackled on his back to help keep him hidden. He stood near the mouth of the cave, ready if anything tried to come in without welcome.
OOC: Guys, I'm gonna end this thread, make your next post your last post, thanks. BIC: Jahhar looked at Del and then ran into the cave. He peered out into the woods and watched. Then he headr the thump of a foot landing on the grass. He heard it again. He saw the creature come out of the trees. It looked so horrible, Jahhar could barely stand to look at it. It approached Jahhar. "I will take you life now mortal," it said in its same whispery voice. It reached a hand towards Jahhar. Jahhar backed up and the creatures started walking towards him and more creatures began coming out of the woods. Then, the creature and the others vanished as sunlight struck them. The sun was rising and the creatures were leaving for the day. Jahhar sighed and breathed deeply as he backed into the back of the cave. He looked at Salme, Vlun, and Del. "I must go and find a place where they can't find me. Don't follow me." Jahhar ran off towards the school and ran into it. Tommorow night would be jut as horrible, if Jahhar didn't find a safe haven. He had all day, the day would go by quickly and night would come. Jahhar walked through the school halls. How would he find a place to sleep where they wouldn't find him?
As the sun began to rise, Del turned to face the creatures, he was still standing at the mouth of the cave, You won't hurt us tonight... he said when the creature was only a short distance away, Because tonight is over! the beams of firey morning sunlight burned through the creatures bodies, and one creature, burning away, slashed out at Dels face, cutting three lines along his right eye, from his temple to the other side of his eye, near his snout, after a moment, the wound closed, like water, it was as if it was never there. as the rest of the creature was burning away, Del said, I'll have to fight you another time, bye-bye! Sucker,
Salme and Vlun both watched happily as the sun peaked over the horizon and smote the creatures. Vlun relaxed and turned to Salme. "You ok?" She was sitting on the ground, her white tails coated with dirt and dust. She stood up and dusted herself off as best she could. "Been better, but Im glad its over." They watched as Jahhar left, he seemed troubled. Salme waved as he left. She stepped out of the cave, back to her old confident self. She turned to Del. "Well thanks for helping us. Se you latter I guess." She smiled weakly and then walked off towards the school. Vlun followed her, turning to Del as he did. "See you in class." He smirked. They walked back to the school as if nothing had happened. In an hour or so the full shock of their ordeal would settle in and they would find themselves wondering in vain what had gone on that night.
