The leader glanced over her shoulder and muttered sarcastically, "I'm fine. And I don't need any help. Maybe the kid does." She shook her head. "We're not in this to help eachother, Fe'shi, we're in this for your potions, and.." She stopped suddenly, and continued walking, making sure not to slip backwards. Her entire wingspan remained open to keep her balance on rocky ledges. They neared the top of the mountain slowly.
Fe'shi took the smaller dragon onto his back and packed her up the moutainside slowly making sure that he was getting good footing as he goes up. Looks down a bit and growls slightly. Continues on his way watching how his feet touched the course soil. "Well, this could be worst...I mean it could still be raining." Closes his eye and shakes his head a bit.
Kairis smirked with disgust. "Oh, would you stop complaining??!? You don't _have_ to carry the damn kid!" Impatiently, she picked up her pace. She was only doing this so Fe'shi would be willing to return the favour. The thought relaxed her slightly, and she loosened up and slowed her pace down. "Not much further," she mumbled to herself, but knew the others would hear her.
Shakes his head and places the kid on the mountain side beside him. Makes sure she has good footing on the soil then he picks up the pace to get up near Kairis. Stands up onto his hindlegs and grins as he gets beside her. "Well, if I would complain then where would the fun be in climb this mountain side." Smirks and laughs lightly as he strolls up the side slowly. "Becides...the kid isn't that heavily...she is really light to tell you the truth." Closes his eye again and comes to a stop on the ridge. Listens to the slowing winds as they come to the summit of the mountain then to the faint words of Kairis as she speaks them.
Impatiently, Kairis leapt to the summit of the mountain as they reached it. Her magnificent wings sprung above her back, as if she were ready to take flight. "Give me a minute...I'll find it." Opaque orbs of the most somber obsidian surveyed the area from this high point, thinly slitted as if she were squinting while reading small print in a book. Her head slowly turned as she scanned the landscape for what she was looking for - the plants that Fe'shi desired. Her vigilant glare came to an abrupt stop as she smiled slightly and her eyes re-opened naturally. Without looking at Fe'shi, she took flight in an instant so sudden, you would have missed it if you'd blinked. Because her wings were already open, she just needed to hop off the highest point of the mountain with a gust of wind and glide. Soon, though, her wings began flailing vigorously, for the winds were very powerful at this altitude. She was flying for the side of a neighboring mountain in the distance, seemingly for an opening on the side of it. The foot of the mountain lay on a lake that surrounded it entirely, so it would be impossible for anyone to reach this mountain unless they flew. Kairis just needed to inspect the gap on the side of the mountain before she would confirm it with Fe'shi, instead of the three making the journey there for nothing. Apparently, Fe'shi's loot lay within this mountain...
Fe'shi stood at the summit of the mountain with his arms crossed and watched as the female soar throughout the windy skies. Licks his lips a bit and looks back over at his other little companion that was heading back down to the bottom of the mountain. Smirks at the sight of this then looks back to where Kairis was flying about the dark skies. Glares slightly with his one red eye and continues to watch her as she explored the mountain.
Unsure if she was even at the right mountain, Kairis landed upon the crevice's mouth and peered into the dark void curiously. She looked back at the mountain she had flown here from, seeing, far in the distance, a tall form on the peak with one deep red eye, staring at her. Dear God, patience, Fe'shi... Back when she was 1 100, Kairis remembered her mother bringing her here to hide her. She had accidentally fallen upon the plant, that grew plentifully upon the walls of the cave. Until now, she had never thought about this place...
Fe'shi continues to watch her with contentment as she scans the mountain for any possible areas of entry. Licks his lips a bit then reaches to his side with one of his hands then draws a bottle that was gray and black. Takes a bit drink of the liquid that is inside it then places it back to his side. Wipes his lips with his forearm and whisles out to Kairis.
Two cream colored paws appeared at the mouth of the crevice, preceeding the arrival of a pendragon in full - it was Kumet, a rather eccentric 'dragon to say the least who made a point of lurking in places such as these. She tilted her head curiously, "Well, well, visitors, eh?" With each step she took, metal jewlery jangled and dye-stained skin rippled with patterns and designs that stretched and squashed rythmically with her movement. "I was actually just on my way out for the day, yet since you were so kind enough as to drop by, I guess I'll be staying. I've been quite interested in the contents of this hole as well." She glanced inward. "The insides, as far as I can tell, are full of a plant of many uses. I wish to press it and use it as a new base for my fur dyes - not to mention that when burned, the smoke, as I have discovered, can be quite intoxicating. Dragons kill for the experiences one can have... However, I have a feeling that's not what you want to use it for, which leaves us at quite the conflict of interests - though I have discovered an interesting way of harvesting it, if you wish to help. Maybe you could even share in the bounty." She smiled in an inward fashion - she was simply provoking them - the only reason anyone came to her cave was to take from what was rightfully hers. To toy with them, she reasoned, was her right.
ooC: Woo, this thread was going slowly. Yay, someone to anger Kairis into a bloodlust-rage-psychotic...fit. She's always game for that sort of thing. biC: She was about to step foot into the cave and check for plants on the walls. Kairis barely blinked when Kumet walked out and began rambling on and on. She wasn't surprised this cave was 'guarded'. She rubbed her forehead impatiently and ran her paw-fingers through her jet black hair, pulling it back. The end of her tail twitched, showing how anxious she was. "You obviously don't live here,", she said coldly. "So step aside, please." Her tone was sarcastic, yet serious and aggressive. She wasn't about to start explaining that the plants weren't even for her. Kairis glared at Kumet, hoping for her that she would step aside. Actually, Kairis would be happy to kill Kumet now.
A gentle grin crossed the maw of the tawny femme, yet one could tell that it was a sarcastic mask of emotion hiding a deeper, more defiant glare of mild annoyance. She did not see the danger in riling up this particular 'dragon, for she had dealt with many who were far more fearsome than her with little to no effort, however, it took a certain degree of mental fortitude that it was quite possible Kumet lacked at this point in time. She turned her head aside and spat on the ground beside her, then glanced back up, hair falling in her eyes - though she made no significant effort to remove it. "C'mon now, mate, you really wanna start a bloomin' fight over a path of damn flowers?" She glanced once again into the cave. "I realize my flowers are quite stunning indeed, yes, but of course, you must understand that they belong to me, and me alone. It's not polite to barge in and demand the property of another, eh? We all learned that long ago, when we were babies, wouldn't you say?" A more serious expression now flashed across her face, "I offered to share. If that's not acceptable, you can go fuck yourselves - head back to whatever disgusting place spawned you. By the looks of it, I'd wager to guess the junk heap - but what do I know?"
Kairis chuckled loudly. She was trying to sound tough. Well it's not working. Her laugh stopped suddenly and an audible snarl began echoing throughout the cave, obviously straight from Kairis' throat. Her patience had now worn off completely. Despite the fact she was young, Kairis looked very mature. Not old, mature and one could easily mistake her to be 2 300+. _Your_ flowers, my ass! Her scaly fur bristled under the moonlight, as clouds cleared from the sky and gave way to silver rays of cold light. This was going to turn nasty if Kairis was to be provoked any further. She pounced into the cave, above and behind Kumet and let her tail grace the wall lightly. She felt that it was literally swarming with the mysterious plant that could be used in so many ways - to heal, smoke, dye fur...But kept her eyes on Kumet. A grin so malicious crossed the ebony femme's face. If Kumet was to approach her by a single step, she would attempt to rip her throat open, or something like that. ooC: ..That's just how she is.
ooc: Kumet has no power to attack yet she's quite adept at evading it. Don't expect to lay a paw on her However, she HAS been smoking said plant all day. So who knows? ic: Kumet read the silence as a sign that she was winning, pushing back Kairis in a mental retreat, though it wasn't the case. However, her eyes began to droop slightly, her ears dropped from their tilted back defensive stance to a downward facing, almost depressed look, and her jaw began to hang slightly open. She stumbled sideways and regained her balance, shaking her head - obviously, she had been experimenting with the plant just before they had arrived - it simply needed time to work into her system. She growled lightly, her perception of time slowing as the moments ticked by, small dots working their way, mysteriously, into her field of vision, her peripheral vision all but gone. Her ears began to ring, her mouth grew dry and her tongue involuntarily lolled out in an action reminiscent of panting - her breathing slowed down to strained, deliberate breaths. Yet somehow she managed to remain focused enough to snarl back a response through the painful, roaring screech that seemed to drown out all other sounds. "...It's all mine, you lousy bitch... and I swear..." Her sentence trailed off into nothing. Most likely, she had forgotten what she was saying. She was a complete wreck of a pendragon - a complete burnout and failure in most aspects of life, yet somehow in a spat of irony landed a job as a health teacher at Janardan academy, the money from which went to buying this small plot of land so she would have a supply of drugs and body ink to last her a lifetime. However, she had no means by which to protect it now - she was far beyond help. Objects in her vision began shifting and her muscles relaxed, causing her to take a few akward steps back into the cave, blocking the entrance, and sit down. "You... be sorry..."
Fe'shi watched a bit longer then noticed the appearances of the other pendragon. Glares slightly as he looked to the two of them as they conversed. Shook his head then dashes to the edge of the summit and dives off of it. Upon doing so, he holds his hand up infront of his face then closes his eye, vainishing before hitting the ground. Reappears on a ledge just below the enterances of the cave then listens to the two of them as they throughout their jesters to each other. After listen for a short while he scales the mountain side to the cave then climbs up onto it. Drops down to a knee as he does then opens his eye looking to the two females. Kairis was standing inside the cave as healthy as ever, but noticed that the other 'dragon was kind of out of it. Shakes his head slowly and takes a deep breathe. Lets it out slowly clearing his throat before speaking aloud. "Excuse me...but...what is going on here? I mean it couldn't be such a big deal to just share the plants, could it?" Stands up onto his hindlegs once more then wipes his lips with his forepaw slowly as he watched the two with a red glowing eye.
Bloodshot eyes not registering his presence, his voice came through in broken words and phrases that echoed and bubbled as if underwater. Before her, colors shifted and phased on their own will and she took flight, floating away in her own bubble. About her, the commotion of the moment seemed all too real, and anxiety and paranoia kicked in. She grew quickly defensive. She could only make out a few words of the phrase, but she did not like what she heard. Her plants were hers. She would not settle at sharing, no. "Share, my... I own... the land..." She tilted sideways and then, in a complete haze, tilted her head to the side, casually vomited, then looked back. Her eyes were now clearly bloodshot - almost glowing red. Her extremities shivered violently, knees quaking under what now felt an enormous load to bear. And then the powerful hallucinogens and amphetamines struck her full-force, delivering an incredible tingling sensation all across her body. Before her she could see a beach - an endless beach that lasted for miles in either direction. In the background she could hear the echoes of tribal drums and a rythmic chanting that so entranced her that her head tilted upward, causing her to stare to the sky, completely dumbfounded, and nearly totally zone out. Her brain had fried - it would take hours for her to return to normal - survival seemed an outside chance in such a situation. Yet she had to protect her plants... but how?
Kairis chortled maliciously. "You stupid bitch. It's bad for you to smoke that shit..." She laughed again, making faces at Kumet as she stared blankly in a daze. "Fe'shi, I guess now's the time to take as much of this stuff as you like. I'll watch her." She approached Kumet, reared backwards and put her entire body weight into pushing Kumet forward, toward the entrance of the cave. If she was to fall, she would plummet to a certain death. But that wasn't Kairis' plan. She'd rather enjoy killing someone herself, with her claws and teeth, than push them off a cliff. She could only hope she wouldn't accidentally push her over.
Kumet stumbled, yet managed to regain her balance by some miracle of fate. The tawny femme was now positioned directly next to the gaping maw of the crevice, there being just a few inches between her and a certain death. In the scuffle, pebbles were knocked into the cave's mouth, and they clacked as they bounced their way down to the bottom off the pointed, jagged rocks that lined the sides of the cave like teeth in some gigantic rock monster. The sound echoed in her ears with a metallic quality, bringing swirling blue lights into her field of vision. She strained to see through the translucent aura. Her plants were in danger - she had to do something, and she had to do it fast. Suddenly, she had a plan. She took her handcrafted machina lighter, her only posession of any value, ignited it, and tossed it into the cave. At first, it seemed for nothing. But finally, the thick, cobalt-blue smoke of the burning plant began to rise from the mouth of the crevice. Thanks to the volatility of the plant, the crop she had stored dried at the bottom of the cave had ignited easily - yet the still-moist-with-dew plants that lined its sides were protected from the inferno. "Try... get...." Once again she trailed off, her field of vision now completely blocked by expanding, morphing shapes similar to fireworks, of all colors and sizes. Her head grew lighter as if it was filled with helium, and her body became seperated from her mind. She could see herself... standing over the flaming pit on the verge of falling in... and she could see the 'dragon who was to push her. She realized, all too suddenly, that she was completely paralyzed. She couldn't move - her front legs failed and she fell into an akward laying position, head tilted sideways and eyes rolled backwards in her head. On the way down, she involuntarily clamped her teeth on her tongue - blood dribbled from the side of her mouth. She, surely, looked dead. Yet one could tell by the violent shivering of her body that she certainly was not. Hopefully, her plan would work, because now there was nothing more she could do.
In a frantic rush, Kairis flailed her wings violently to prevent the flames from spreading or catching anymore than they already had. Then, she stepped on the burning embers on the cave's floor to make sure they were out, and kicked some dead shrubs out of the cave to further prevent another fire to catch. "Your attempts are in vain, dear.." She laughed, yet kept watching the ground for any more flames that would possible erupt, while standing in front of Fe'shi as he gathered plants. She hoped he'd finish soon, so she'd get her end of the deal, and so she would no longer have to deal with Kumet, who was now convulsing on the ground. ooC: I hope that only a few square inches were on fire at the moment Kairis put them out, because she couldn't put out much more herself. :S
Fe'shi places his forepaw over his maw as he walked into the rising smoke of the plants. Shook his head slowly and looked to the burning pile of plants. Upon looking to the burning plants his eye begin to sting and hurt from the smoke. Shakes his head again and moves to the side of the cave out of the smoke's reach then drops to a knee, taking plants up gently without damaging the roots. Looks back over his shoulder at Kairis and glares slightly then continues to draw plants out of the ground slowly. "Kairis...we haven't much time. These plants are begining to burn. So can you help me a bit in collecting them." draws up two more in his paw then places them into his pouch.
ooc: Darn, we posted at the same time. But it makes sense, anyways...lmao.
