Tucoju smiled, she'd never been called ma'am before, always Miss Uej. "Yes, I'm an inventor you see, and a writer. So having a job like a librarian gives me lots of spare time to draw blueprints. I've made all sorts of machina before. I've made a personal shield for me, and my bother and sister." She frowned, "I also made the most important machina five years ago. You see my sister in an unstabley strong elemental psychic. She is very nice, but if anyone threatens her or her family she has gone berserk a few times. She was attacked when she was 6 and never recouvered from the damage." She looked up at Kutz, "What to machina does is, it moniters her vitals. Whenever she goes berserk she will distroy her attacker quite brutally, and sometimes she'll ever distroy the ground and everythine around her too. Once about 10 minutes has past she'll have used of her energy and her heart stops. She stops breathing too." "So this machina detects that and automaticly activated to revive her." Tucoju let out a tear, "It's been used more than 4 times in those five years." She quickly smiled, "But she's been doing better lately so no point in worrying about it."
Kutz listened quietly with much interest and sympathy. It was a scary thought to lose a family member. She knew the feeling of loses but decided to ignore it. She was glad, hoever, for the machina that was used to revived Tucoju's sister. It's a nice talent you have in inventing. I've tried but failed a few times. Plus, I don't have much creativity. she admited with a small smile. She then thought of the stranger's sister and of her own past. You're a good sister, you know? She's a very lucky pendragon to be having a sister like you. She'll be alright under your care. Do you talk to her often?
"When's she's around we're unseperable, but the lifestyle she choose keeps her away most of the year. She likes to wander the planet. With no real direction then heads back here every Mia." "You see a seer fortold her elementally kinetic abilities and she has trained from birth. So not only was the attack, when she was 6, horrible on such a young child, but the two that attacked were also the first strangers she'd ever met." "I basically glued myself to her after that, watching her, and talking to her. It took 3 years to get her to even talk, and another 5 to get her to talk to strangers." Tucoju sighed, then smiled, "But just recently she told me that an arden named Kwerty, befriended her and gave her a memory that almost completely restored her confidence and shyness."
So her sister was shy like her. Kutz had never thought other individuals would be in a more serious case of shyness than her. But then again, she'd never been out much. She'd never known many. Nice to think that she'd met someone special... she said, looking at the ground. She'd dreamed of meeting someone special but it was only going to be in her head and none a success, considering how anti-social she was. If you don't mind me asking, ma'am, how was your sister attacked? I mean, you don't have to answer me if you don't want too...
"Special? No, no. He isn't anything like a boyfriend to her. He has dreamweaving skills so he literally gave her the memory." Tucoju thought for a moment, "I don't mind telling you." "Like I said from birth she'd been trained, day and night, she had already learned how to control water before she could evern walk. But when she was 6 she got curious about what was past the fence in our yard. So she ventured out, and saw two ardens. Not knowning about bad people, she went up to say hello to them." Tucoju paused, "The two ardens acted nice at first, but I knew they weren't. You see I'd placed a camera on Hishema's shirt, so I knew where she was. First thing i did was tell our brother, Pumeal. Pumeal picked me up and we flew to where she was. While on our way I continued to watch the video, The ardens got nasty and ripped her clothes off." Tucoju paused again, "Sorry. They pinched her undeveloped nipples. They were trying to rape her. That, was probably their greatest mistake. It took us less than a few more seconds to get there. Pumeal put me down and walked up to them. By this point they had begun fingering Hishema. Pumeal, without even asking them to stop, grabbed the automatic rifle from his back and shot the two right there. Now don't get me wrong, Pumeal is a very nice person, married now actually. It's just he's very protective of Hishema. VERY Protective. Plus what they were doing was horrible." "Hishema fell the the ground and didn't move, she was covered in the blood of the one that was raping her. Now he hadn't penetrated her yet, so for that I'm glad, I fear if he had she'd never have recovered." Tucoju let out her breathe, "And that's how it happened."
Oh, forgive me then. she said, indicating the mistake she made when she said that the arden Tucoju's sister had met was someone special. Kutz listened in silence, and once or twice winced when she heard the horrible things that the two, now dead, ardens did to Hishema. She could feel goosebumps rising on her arms as the story unfolded. Kutz now could understand why Hishema was terribly shy. She would have just dissapeared into thin air, leaving her body, if that would have happened to her. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that happened to her. she gave an involuntary shiver. But she's lucky she has siblings like you and your brother. I'm glad she's recovering now. She looked up and smiled. So you said you're a writer. What sort of books do you write?
Tucoju saw her shiver during the story, "Pumeal is very strong-willed. He has protected us a few times. Last times was just a couple quarters ago. He is a highly skilled sharpshooter now, so he kill anything with anything that shoots a projectile. He doesn't like killing people though, usually just animals. Killing those two has haunted his dreams every since. Tuju, his wife, has helped him through it but he still suffers from it." "Well, I write anything that comes to mind." Tucoju thought for a second, "I've written sci-fi, thye're always fun cause you have no limits with what technology is in it. Angst, I usually write these on request for people. I've written drama, action," Tucoju laughed, "Pretty much anything."
She listened as the stranger talk about her brother. He sound scary. Kutz wouldn't want to meet anyone like that. She should ask for a description to Pumeal as to avoid him in the future if she so happen to meet him. But that was a silly request. I would like to read one of your works sometime. she said. I think you know I love reading... very much. I would like to write too, someday. Next time when I want to, would it be okay to get some help from you? She paced around a little, trying to get the stiffness out of standing so long. When she stopped, she looked down at the ground and sighed. You seem to be living a very interesting life, ma'am. I think you're blessed.
"I'm not blessed, I would rather have a boring life of a librarian then the life of one who's sister almost dies every couple years when she's threatened." Tucoju looked up at Kutz, "I wish I could just sit here like you and just sing." Tucoju stood up, "I want to take you out to get something to eat or something. I know a great little shop not far from here. Will you join me? Oh, and call me Tucoju."
Kutz momentarily looked at the ground, a sad expression on her face. She then looked up. Sitting around and singing isn't as nice as you think... Have you heard of Golden Pheonix, ma- er... Tucoju? she asked. My grandma told me that there was once a golden pheonix which was too heavy to fly, because it was heavy, as it is gold. So it just sang sweet melodies and people would pass by and admire its songs and its beauty. But it was never free to go where it liked. Never had the chance to fly. It had no freedom. My life sort of resembles the Golden Pheonix. I'm just sitting around, doing nothing. For some reason, I'm not so free. she gave out a small smile. I would love to go have something to eat with you. I'm not much of a traveller so I guess I'll be following you around. I hope you don't mind.
Tucoju smiled and walked down the lush trail. They walked for nearly half an hour before they emerged near a small diner. "There it is," she said, "They got some of the best food in this region, just not many people know about it." The building was small, and could only hold 20 customers at once. It was green and had a sign on the front saying, 'Taklopap Pemaj'. "Come on."
Kutz took a moment to admire the small little cafe. It wasn't so crowded as those she went to before. It actually seems quite comfortable. What Tucoju said about best food even made her like the cafe more. Do you come here often? she asked while trying to keep up with Tucoju. It's a very nice place. How did you know of it? She took a glance at the sign. That name suits this cafe really well.
Tucoju smiled, "I found this shop one day when I was walking through the woods testing my latest invention. I like the solitude you get when you come here. There's never a big crowd so there's never a lot of noise." She sat down and the watress walked up with a smile, "What can I get for you, today?" Tucoju looked at the menu on the table, "Uh, http://shadowlack.com/life/flora.php?id=31Cammarill Tea please," turning to Kutz, "what are you going to get?"
She nodded. She sat opposite her companion and smiled. I guess I know where to go now when I need some quiet. She took a long look at the menu on the table. It was hard for her to decide which to choose. This cafe may be small, but the variety was enormous! Finally she looked up from the table and turned to the waitress, whom had waited a little more patiently than Kutz had expected. I'll have an extra large Burger Number 1, a milkshake and some fries she ordered. The waitress scribbled on her notepad, collected the menus and walked away. Kutz then turned to Tucoju. What else do you invent? If you don't mind me asking...
Tucoju laughed, "When you're a librarian who works fast, you have a lot of free time. Plus I just get these ideas and a strong urge to build them." She grabbed a device from her bag, "This wasn't inspired by anything, I just made it to keep track of everything I've made." She laughed again, "Let's see here," she scanned the list, "I've made lots of things, but my pride and joy are these little guys." She reached into her bag again and pulled out a dozen like sphirical robots, they activated, floated into the air, and began orbiting Tucoju's head, "They can do all sorts of things, from defensive turrets, to lifting heavy objects. I have about 30 of them. Want one!? They're really useful. They have little tow cables that allow them to carry things. Plus they have an automatic collision detector, so if they are about to get hit by something, they project a shield to guard them from it." Tucoju grabbed one pressed a few buttons and aimed it at Kutz. A little light hit Kutz in the forehead. Tucoju let go of the robot and it hovered over to Kutz, where it began orbiting her, "There, it now recognizes you as it's owner. Enjoy."
