ooc: OMFG!! I posted but it didnt post!! God... bic: Naedalya withdrew her head from the carcass, now remembering the feeling of having a full stomach rather than a shrivelled and empty one. She rose to her feet and ambled over to the side of a large tree. She now knew she didn't have to worry about the other two so she lay down and closed her eyes. Those colourful, happy dreams that she once had now returned, rather than those spontaneous nightmares she had before.
Nadine finally finished consuming her enormous meal. Made sleepy by the food, she yawned and curled up for a nap. Nadine awoke and stretched. At first she coudnt place what felt wrong. Then she realized that she felt different because for the first time in months her stomach felt totally sated. Grinning, she got up and walked around for a bit. She was bored. And her boredom gave her no respite from those suspicous, nagging little thoughts that had been nagging her ever since she had agreed to hunt with Naedalya and then Estrella. Nae and Estrella seemed nice enough, but you never knew - and Nadine had had too many bad experiences with strangers to trust them. It was only her extreme hunger that had led her to agree to hunting with them. It would be better to leave them now, while nothing had as yet gone wrong. So she stole away into the woods on velvet feet, and, when she was out of sight and sound of the other two, broke into a jog. She hoped they hadnt seen her. She just wanted to be on her own. She had never met any pendragon who hadnt wanted to use her for something. Even when they seemed genuinely friendly, they always had ulterior motives. It was just better for her to be on her own. Then she wasnt dependent on anyone. And she could fend for herself. When she finally came out from under the trees' cover, she took flight, and soared above. She couldnt even see the spot where she had left Naedalya and Estrella. Good. Hopefully they couldnt see her either. And to make sure they didnt, she cast an invisibilty spell over herself and spiraled down to a lake she could see off in the distance, which would hopefully afford her some decent swimming. For although she was quite comfortable on dry land, and was at home soaring graacefully through the skies, there was nowhere she loved more to be than in the water.
Except for the random chirpings of birds high in the canopy, Naedalya didn't hear anything. It was almost spooky. Se awoke as a beam of sunlight shone on her face. She stood up hastily, swirling her head to see if anyone was there. Nothing. "Nadine???" she called out, but no answer. The kill had been pretty well cleaned up, there was nothing but a large skull, ribs and legs left, all meat stripped off. Naedalya still felt how full she was from all that food. With all the silence surrounding her, a very intense feeling of loneliness came over her. She had got used to being with others and teaming with them to get things done. And it was awfully boring without anyone to talk to. Her large wings were in need of exercise. Over 70% of her time was spent in the sky, there was just no way she could do without them. She opened them and rose from the ground with a few wing beats. She cut through the dense canopy easily with the speed she gained so quickly. Leaves flew around her as she skimmed above the treetops, slashing at the very highest leaves. She didn't really care that Nadine had left, she was just searching for something to do. With a twist of a wing, she dove upwards, and gained so much altitude so quickly, she could probably detect any movement within 10 km around her and see it clearly. She was right, Nadine wasn't too far. In the lake, a large, dark green figure was diving through the waves skillfully. She glided ever so slowly and quietly towards the lake, pondering on what to do. Closing in on the large body of water, she decided to simply continue flying away, pretending she hadn't seen Nadine. She was still pretty high, so it was possible to get away unnoticed if Nadine wasn't paying attention to the sky.
