'Sper sighed, following Kyofu to the hallway. The vibrant fuchia-purple carpet clashed slightly with her more electric pink fur, but she payed it no heed as she turned left, past some metal artwork on the walls, and to the glass sliding door to her room. She shoved at the pewter knob, ushering the other femme through the doors into her bedroom. Esper's bedroom was a pleasant one, with a black velvet bedspread, neutral, cream-white shag carpeting, and paintings of electric violet pears on the white walls. There was a wooden dresser flush to the wall, with a few tubes of lip balm and eyeliner scattered this way and that. A glass bottle of patchouli essential oil was also there. The room smelt faintly of it. On her bed was a book, "The Fadings of the Spirit: Poetry in Ramathian and its Common Translation." On her bedside table (black-stained, slick wood) was a clay mug of water and a whole slew of bracelets. Above her bed, in permanent ink, were the signatures of a few 'dragons; she'd had a few of her friends scrawl their anecdotes and names 'pon the white surface. As lovely as the room was, it was in no way clean. The floor was littered with makeup tube wrappings; pens; socks; and, quite inexplicably, a few peanut shells. Over the one chair in the room, a plain off-white armchair, was draped many articles of clothing. Among them were a deconstructed orange muscle-tee bearing the words "J'adore Vintage", a black racer-back top, pink sweatpants, and a black denim dress. Esper kicked a high-heeled boot out of their way as she proceeded to the other glass door off her room: the bathroom. It was simple, with golden-flecked cappucino tiles and a brown-cream colour scheme. The shower was boxed in with frosted glass. It was true that 'Sper wasn't so well-to-do, and she was lucky to inherit the place from her mum's half-sister. Fortunately, Lilianh had posessed good fashion sense, and much of the furnature and decor in the residence was what was left in it. But the pink femme's only real changes had been made in the bedroom; it was the room she was most proud of, as she'd payed for or created everything in it, down to the necklaces that were scattered on the bedside. The bathroom was cramped, so 'Sper pushed the door open and motioned for Kyofu to help herself. "Soap, water, whatever. All the luxuries of life are there," she told the other female. Having nothing else to say, she backed away from the door, closed it, and set about cleaning up the place a little. A tattered wicker basket in the corner served as a hamper; Esper beat it mercilessly with barrage after barrage of dirty laundry. Once her clothing was off the chair, the femme walked over to her floor and used her hands to scoop the crisps, undies, and other random detritus clumsily to one corner. Lastly, she smoothed the rumpled bedspread, picked up her book, and threw herself onto the soft covers, opening the poetry novel and beginning to read. Her Ramathian was slow and difficult, but she loved to stumble through the works. Sometimes she opened her mouth to read aloud, letting the strange sounds thud across her ears without bothering to translate what they meant. sha tyvsmatt yv sha rjaaxa-- lekcemd sutsavolli ros mys thunalattli! us sha syfajemd ladt yv sha sjaa... shet, ni pauj ET. fhus fa huba & uja the softness of the breeze-- licking tastefully but not shamelessly! at the towering legs of the tree... this, my dear IS. what we have & are. The poems were beautiful, and some were just a touch naughty. This one, Esper suspected, would turn in a kinky direction soon. She began to become engrossed in the next stanza, forgetting Kyofu was in the bathroom.
Kyofu followed her throughout the house as she was lead to the bedroom. Licks her lips lightly as she goes ito it then looks about at all the stuff that was scattered about. Shakes her head a bit then looks over her shoulder toward Esper for a few moments. Looks away and begins to walk about the room a bith tne comes to a stop looking down upon the black velvet bed, grinning. Nods slowly to the bed then awaits Esper to show her o the bathroom. Looks over towards the second sliding glass door then Esper goes and opens it. Kyofu grins lightly looking to the bathroom that was inside then places her bracer on the bed. Licks her lips a ibt and walks up to the door. Places her hand along it looking in then looks back over at Esper as she spoke about everything that she would need in getting cleaned up. "Thank you...", she spoke softly before moving into the bathroom. Gets into it then walks over towards the sink turning on the water. Glares slightly then turns it off reaching her hand over to the hot water. Turns it on and waits for a short few, listening to the sound of Esper as she moved about the room, pickingit up. Shakes her head lightly then unwarps the bandage about her arm moving over towards the sink. Reaches her arm beneath the water and winces slightly as it passed through her flamed fur into the wound. Lifts her ears up at the sound of Esper's voice as she read aloud some sort of reading from a book. Chuckles lightly and shakes her head looking down at the wound as she adds soap to it.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>Friggen groovy OOC tag. Hardcore. Anyway, I be BACK from four days of no sleep and hauling lines. Hoorah, I say. This will most likely be a shortie.</td></tr></table> Esper scanned happily through the rest of her poem, crossing one canvas-clad leg over the other sometime in the middle of the prose. She bounced the crossed-leg, flexing her claws with each thump of right calve to left knee. Her lightly damp pink fur ruffled slightly in the breeze from the room's two large windows, which were cracked open. After stumbling through the last lines of the poem, she read the last few words appreciatively. Sha kull yv sha tyoshajm femp azkesat na; Sha khell yv sha myjshajm femp paledhst na; Sha Autsajm femp tgjaupt haj femdt (&shai uja fujn); Ros sha Fatsajm rjaaxat uja fhus nuca na temd. The words tasted like silver and honey in her throat, and they were slick and easy as they escaped her lips. She was surprised at their ease, and also that her nose knew how to shove the gutteral sounds out perfectly. She was getting better at Ramathian. But before she could revel in her joy some more, she remembered Kyofu. Rolling her amber eyes slightly, she rolled off her bed and headed to the bathroom to check up on her customer.
Kyofu continued to clean up with her wound but came to stop shortly after beginning. Hears no sound of Esper voice as she listened then turned her eyes back over her shoulder to the door. Licks her lips lightly then draws back from the sink, drying off her arm. Turns and walks back over to the door just as Esper was coming to check on her. Opens the door and looks down at Esper for a short moment then turns her eyes away. "Oh yeah...I'm done in there." She spoke licking her lips lightly taking up the bandage from the table. Gently places it about her arm and goes out looking for her bracer. Looks about the changes in the room slowly then back over at Esper. Smirks lightly at her then nods taking up the bracer, slipping it on over her wounded wrist. Glares slightly from the tightness then closes her eyes turning away from Esper. Shakes her head lightly and heads out of her bedroom. Goes down the hall and makes her way back to the livingroom. Once in the living room she wanders back over to the sofa where her tea cup from before sat. Sits herself back upon the sofa and takes up the pot, pouring herself another drink. Places it back on the table then leans back taking a sip of the still warm liquid. Closes her eyes slightly and relaxes her faint blue eye as she continued to sip from her drink.
Once she saw that Kyofu had managed without leaving scorch-marks on the tiles, she nodded, satisfyed, and traipsed out of the bathroom. She watched, stepping nimbly to the right once out of the bathroom door, as the female pulled the bracer onto her newly-bandaged hand. She showed teeth, if only for her own amusement, at the fit and careful craftsmanship of the armour. With a careless flick she tossed her book onto the bed, where it lay, open to page 43. Her nose twitched. The moisture that had touched each fur shaft with just the slightest damp had now turned chill. A warm, wet smell began to permeate the air, but a smoothly chill wind slid through the window-cracks and through the room. It was going to rain. Esper moved quickly to the windows, closing them each rapidly with a slam. After doing so, she drew two wickedly pointed fingers to chest-level, and thrust her neck forward slightly, as she whistled a deadly-pure note. The familiar flutter of carefully angled feathers against the air sounded, like whisperings of chiffon on watercolour paper, through the air. 'Sper's bird whirled through the door, across the distance between them, and to the fuschia femme's waiting hands. She nodded happily to the creature, and set out into her hallway. She walked through the kitchen, grabbing her tea-glass on the way with one black-padded paw. It soaked far through her furry digits now, as most of the ice had melted and left the sides shivering with beads of moisture. But the juice was still tart, and she took several deep-throated, much-needed gulps of the concoction before walking to the living-room, dashing her tail expressively. Kyofu had, apparently comfortable with Esper's place of residence now, invited herself to sit down once more. She now sat, sipping nonchalantly at Esper's home-brewed iced drink. The female quirked an eyebrow. The living room brought back rather unpleasant memories of an invisible hand of darkness ravaging her throat and lifting her above the ground, demanding that her wrist-bracer be fixed. And then there was the lock... But at least she fixed it, she admitted rather grudgingly to herself. Still, it was HER living room. "Quite comfortable?" she said in a scathingly enquiring tone to the lounging she-'dragon. Her right hand still held the bird, and her left the tea-glass. She plunked the latter on a nearby glass table and tossed the former off her hand, leaving both arms free to cross firmly on her chest, whilst the black-enamelled claws tapped impatiently. She was quite put out that, after all the ordeal with the bracer, bandage, bathroom, and of course black magic, Kyofu just thought she could throw her big flaming (literally) self upon the sofa and sit there, smouldering, acting as if nothing had happened. "So. I did what you asked. Now, I'm just curious, she said, But what did end up posessing you to use dark magic on me in my own home? Forgive me if I'm forward; I know YOU weren't." It was all said in an acidic tone; the last was delivered sharply, but not loudly, with sarcasm dripping from the last few words. She sighed in apparent exasperation. She expected an answer that would make a spot of sense, and possibly justify Kyofu's bluntness.
Kyofu sighs lightly and leans back against the sofa shaking her head lightly at the silents. Licks her lips lightly and takes another sip of her tea before placing the cup back on the table. Closes her eyes lightly and relaxes. Slides her fingers along the bracer slowly. Then lifts them back up at the sound of footsteps coming down the hall. Notices Esper as she entered into the living room. Smirks lightly at her and nods looking to the bird then back to her. Reaches her hand out and takes up the tea pot. Moves over from the sofa then pours her some tea into the cup. Sets the pot back down then sits back on the sofa, but not relaxing back against it. Lifts her ears at the sound of Esper's voice then looks over at her with a smile. "Yes, very much so. Thank you." She reaches her hand up slips it along her head slowly, causing the flames to course and dance a bit before they relaxed in position once more. Sighs lightly and slips her hand into her side pouch drawing a small jewel of sorts then turns it in her fingers slowly. Lowers her eyes back to the floor slowly and licks her lips once more taking a drink from her cup then sets it back on the table. Shakes her head slowly then glares a bit at the sound of Esper's voice as she heard everything said. Lifts her eyes up and looks to Esper with an answer. "I wasn't myself at the time...", she spoke then lowered her eyes slowly. Gets up from the sofa and moves over towards the window looking out at the rain as it beat down heavy upon the stone streets. "I was to power hungry to control myself." Shakes her head and rubs her wrist slowly then looks back to the bracer.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>I'm in the clear; school's out ^^. So finally, I can get back to normal posting order.</td></tr></table> Rolling her tawny eyes at the femme's show of false conversation, she lashed her bone-tipped tail viciously at the air. It streaked quickly, the white tip blurring considerably before the lithe appendage hit the ground, leaving a mark in the thick rug. This was not meant as a threat, really, but rather just a show of the femme's anger. Casting her oculars up in another expression of exasperation, she plunked down upon the chair. Her eyes, too, flickered to the window; she hadn't realized the coming squall had arrived so quickly, but she smiled at the thought of going outside later to stand in it and cool off. After this happy thought of a respite, she again returned to the present, and to the ever-flickering bodice of the exotic female before her. "Power-hungry... what kind of a dark mage are you?" Obviously one that could not control what strange sort of power she did have, thought Esper obnoxiously, who, at the moment, felt quite glad that she did not posess any special abilities other than the Argent line's smithing skills. The shock-pink female looked up at Kyofu once more, her rouge fur prickling. Somehow the strange power's source seemed to flood into the room; she, for once, felt a tad uncomfortable in her own home. 'Sper, while having limited skills with knives and considerable ones with her bare paws, hardly ever kept blades on her person, and now wished very much that her clingy top or billowy bottoms held (or were even able to hold) a weapon. Not knowing quite what to do with herself, she said nothing, settling back warily against her armchair, waiting for the femme's response.
Kyofu lifted her eyes up and gazed upon Esper as she sat there finishing off her tea. Licks her lips a bit then lowers her eyes once more, sliding her fingers over her head a bit relaxing then gets up from the sofa. Wanders over towards the direction of the window then looked out it at everything that was taking place. Brings her fingers up to her lips and glares a bit looking out at the vast residences that was as far as her three eyes could see. Shakes her head then lowers her eyes from the window taking a step back from it kneeling down. Sits upon her knees and licks her lips a bit looking over towards Esper once more. She lifted her ears at the question and glared a bit thinking on it and shakes her head. "I'm no mage, just someone that happened to get more out of the energies around the world then intended." She spoke lowering her eyes away from Esper, glaring a bit. A yellow energy errupted from her hand and coiled down about her arm slowly then back up. The energy changed and forged into a golden tiara that was in crusted with jewels and bits of Pewter. Sighs a bit looking upon it then places it on the floor infront of her.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>Essy's such a brat xo She's been so moody!</td></tr></table> Esper had to smile ruefully at that. She knew that it was difficult to be singled out, and that no matter how clueless Kyofu seemed on the outside, she did have a history, and should be respected for it. "I guess that's a good way of putting it," she said truthfully. Her arms were still crossed challengingly, but she did have to admit that the rain's pattering was quite soothing to her. Her tail now twirled a slow pattern in the air, the stiff bone tip now seeming hypnotizing, not threatening. But her good feelings melted away rather quickly when she looked up at Kyofu. At first, she was just unsure as to what the female was doing, when the gilt energy spilled from her hand and wound its way up her arm. In fact, she was a bit fascinated. But fascination soon turned to disbelief and then incredulity as the light changed form. It was... it was a tiara, and it was made of gold. And she hadn't had to lift anything but her fingers. There it was. She had forged it right there! Esper thrust her head forward slightly and raised her eyebrows, her hands moving down to her hips. Her tail instantly halted in its trippy sway. The end vibrated slightly, dangerously, like a hesitant rattler's tailtip. Are you saying..." she said, slowly, "...that I spilled my sweat the last hour so that I could repair a bracer... that you could have created yourself in the times it takes me to pick up a bar of pewter?" Her voice was shocked. What an incredible waste of time... "You do realize that I worked quite hard to bring you that... right? Well, no matter, as you seem to have a disregard for my personal home and property. Not to mention me. Fah," she said, frustrated. Kyofu and herself were like oil and water: they didn't mix; and weren't mightily good-tasting when combined, either. "So, is there a reason why you didn't thrust out a paw and make one for yourself?!" she said, reaching out her own arm and flicking the newly forged bracer on Kyofu's arm with a metallic ping. Then, she snapped her arm back explosively, amber eyes hardening as she looked at Kyofu for an answer.
Lifts her eyes back up and looks to Esper glaring a bit then licks her lips closing her hand about the tiara. Crushes it and winces a bit as she did then lowers her eyes away. Sighs softly and stands up from the floor slowly walking over to the front door placing her hand on the knob without putting to much pressure on it. "Because I haven't the skill to repair it to such perfection such as what you can do." She spoke slowly drawing her hand back from the knob. Takes a step back from the door then looks over her shoulder at Esper once more, glaring again. Shakes her head once more then walks right up on Esper reaching her lower hand out about her arm then looks dead into her eyes. "You have to understand that you are more skilled in the metal working then I. And anything that I make out of energy will never be as good as you're work." She spoke drawing back from her face slowly and lowers her eyes away.
Esper raised her brows even more, watching in surprise as Kyofu crushed her magically created headpiece with unforgiving hands. Well. There you go then, she thought to herself, her musings suddenly being interrupted by Kyofu's aggressive voice. "Because I haven't the skill to repair it to such perfection such as what you can do." Well. The pink female hadn't actually expected an answer, but it felt rather nice to recieve one. "Thank you, Kyofu," she said, hesitantly. She used her eyes to follow the blue-flamed femme's path to the door. After another moment's thought, she stood up, her tail-tip still vibrating slightly. A sharp whistle reverberated through the room, having emitted from Esper's throat. The varsinid winged into the room; its wings fluttered, creating a lovely counterpart to the rain's thump on the glass windows and stone walls. Esper held out two dexterous fingers, letting the yellow-legged creature land on them and then drawing the fingers closer to her chest. She crossed the room now, striding towards the larger female and meeting her near the door. She listened to her praise with a wry half-smile, and thanked her once more. She met the tall, exotic femme's stare with an equally intense one. "I'm glad you're pleased with the work, I guess. And thanks for those coins. They're nifty. I'm thinking of making a bracelet of them." With a shrug, she realized that even though the female was a crap houseguest, she'd payed her well and had been ultimately happy with the results of 'Sper's efforts. She herself sighed, as the apparently-melancholy Kyofu'd just done for the nth time. "Thanks for giving me a job," the rouge femme spoke, a small smile now quirking at the corner of her mouth. With a twitch of foxish ears, she reached for the doorknob, twisted, and pulled. "Sorry I have to show you out into the rain," she said truthfully. "If you've anymore smithing business, feel free to scoot over here again." And she looked at Kyofu, now holding the door with her foot and stroking Telbaj with her free hand. "See ya." <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>Okay, there we go. Seemed like a good place to end.
