  1. The sharp whimper was what finally stilled Sunoe's coughing, as her entire shoulder and chest was clamped with pain. It was a familiar and maddening feeling, bringing back memories of many childhood injuries. Her head was still reeling when she realized that the male who was helping her was not only seated beside her, but was also softly touching her silvery mane.

The gesture was very odd to her, and she tensed up, leaning away a bit. She was quite caught between being uncomfortable and not wanting to seem rude. Oh this whole situation had boggled her mind, and she found that she was becoming more aggravated by the moment. She wanted to be out of the eyes of others and back in the secluded shadows of her lab, alone and anonymous.

  2. Fe'shi slowly drew away from her and plaed the makeshift sling over her shoulder and placed her arm in. He then lifted himself up from the seat. He looked over towards the other that spoke about leaving then turned his eye back to Sunoe. "Sorry...I didn't mean to intrude...terribly sorry." He spoke to her before just turning and moving back out of the cafe. It was pointless to hang around a place anymore like that. He was do nothing except make things worst just being there.

Fe'shi looked down at his shirt again then wiped his hand along it again. The coffee didn't stand out at all with the color of his shirt, so why bother getting a new one? He sighed and shook his head just wandering off into the direction of...wherever like he did before coming to the cafe.

  3. Sunoe could only stare as Fe'shi exited the cafe so quickly.
Why was there a lump in her throat? Why did this whole event feel like it had bashed her in the head.
She had to leave. She had to get back home. If the other male was still around, she didn't notice. Standing clumsily, she fumbled for something to place on the table as a tip. Her fingers wrapped around a wad of cash, and she stuffed it under the corner of her half-empty bowl without bothering to see how much it was.

When she reached the door, she hesitated. No, she wouldn't run into Fe'shi if she left this quickly. Why it bothered her was impossible to tell. Brushing the irritating thought away, she hurried out and headed down the walkway toward her lab. Pain throbbed violently through her shoulder, and her mind focused on the bottles of painkillers waiting on her shelf. She would be safe soon, locked away from the world, hidden away where she could protect her frailties and exist in her own personal world.

She still hadn't eaten, but that was far from her mind.

  4. The youth was as surprised as the female was when Fe'shi left. When the anubi tried to get up, he moved to help her but she'd managed it on her own. She too, left the building.

Khuta stood there for a few seconds. His first of experiencing an encounter like this. He hoped, however, that he wouldn't be in this uncomfortable situation again. Then he started out of the cafe without his mocha (which he conviniently left on the couple's table).

He should be getting back to Swaraj. Arius clearly isn't the place for him.

  5. Fe'shi came to a stop and winced a bit before turning on his heel and heads back to the cafe. Why was he doing it, he didn't know. He came back to the cafe and moved into it. His eye drifted over the place as he looked about. It wasn't long after that the waitress came up to him and handed him several large bills. "Your lady friend, she just got up and ran out moments after you did. It looked like she was in a hurry and she placed a rather large amount of money under the edge of her bowl. But my boss told me that a tip like that couldn't be accepted so I figured that if I give it to you that you could return it to her." She spoke softly to Fe'shi then handed her a bagged sandwich with a drink inside. "Take this to her as well...she didn't eat nothing while she was here." The waitress spoke before wallking off.

Fe'shi was somewhat puzzled about the whole thing, but he did turn and make his way out of the cafe again. He reaches his hand up and slips it along his forehead before looking back to the bagged food and money in the other. "So...find the professor...return her money and give the food." His ears druped a bit at the though then he just stook his from his head. He lifted his eye up and looked out about the busy street then on over towards the other side of it, trying to locate the professor. He glares a bit and snaps his head back getting up the courage to ask someone about Sunoe. He turns to someone on the street and calls out.

"Excuse me sir, but would you happen to know where I could find Professor Sunoe?"
"I don't know right off hand, but you could try at the labs in the North."
    "Thank you sir, thank you."

Fe'shi moved away from the male after exchanging a hand shake and heads towrds the labs, hopefully to find Sunoe there.

  6. The labs and research facilites were all on a lower level, and thankfully the area was organized and well-labeled. A little bit of asking around would direct him to the section of smaller private laboratories and apartments. They were in blocks of four, and each had a little labeled mail slot on the outside.

It didn't take long to find it.
    "S. Odiai"

  7. Fe'shi wandered the halls of the large factilies and glared a bit. It seemed rather impossible to find this Sunoe's office. He shook his head a bit before coming to a stop and looking down at the piece of paper that the receiptioness gave him on the upper floors. He caresses his thumb over the writing slowly before crumpling the paper up in his hand. "Damn it. Came all this way and can't even find out where this Sunoe Odiai's office is." He lifted his eye up and looked over towards his right at a door. His jaw dropped as he gazed upon then shook his head. Standing right next to it! Damn idiot!

Fe'shi approached the door and reached his hand up giving it several short but strong knocks before drawing back and standing there. He looked down on end of the hall then to another seeing several doors with the names alphabelized by last name. He shook his head slowly and sighed.

  8. (OOC: *still giggling at poor Fe'shi* By the way, Sunoe has a pic now. Check sig or char profile)

For a long minute there was nothing but the sounds of coughing and caged animals coming through the door. They were all hushed eventually, and the door peeked itself open, a weary white-furred face appearing from behind it. She was confused to begin with by the knocking, but when she saw who it was, there was a brief moment where it looked like she was going to jump right out of her skin.

She composed herself quickly however, and cleared her throat. Unaccustomed to visitors in general, she couldn't help but look a little spooked, shifting lightly from one foot to the other.

    "C-Can I help you?"

  9. Fe'shi reached his hand up and holds out the bag of food to her. "Um...well the waitress at the cafe told me to come and give this to you. She seemed to feel sorry for you not eating and all." He spoke continuing to hold the bag out to her. His eye drifted over into the direction of the hall once more then looks back to her. He reaches his other hand into his pocket then draws the fold of money to her. "She told me that you gave to much money for the tip and meal, so this is for you as well." He spoke holding it out to her as well.

He quirked a brow then placed down the bag along with the money in front of the door. "Have a nice day...Ms. Odiai. He turned and walked away from her heading down the hall slowly.

  10. She could only stare, in an odd way, as he explained himself. When he brought up the waitress, and her feeling sorry for Sunoe, the Anubi's eyes darkened and she stood up a little taller. She seemed to take things a little bit better when he brought up the money however, though she didn't speak.

Caught somewhere between gratitude and pride, she was at a loss for both words and actions. It wasn't until Fe'shi went to leave, did she snap out of her confused thoughts. If he didn't place the food and money down and walked away, she wouldn't have taken it at all...though she'd left her home far behind, she couldn't forget her proud blood. Though, at the same time, she wasn't above the humilities of common courtesy.

    "...Thank you."

Unlike at the cafe, it seemed she used her real voice at home.

  11. Fe'shi came to a stop and leaned himself back against the wall. He reaches his hand up and slips it along the side of his face before sliding down onto the floor. He leaned his head back and sighed looking off towards the wall. "Yeah...just try to be helpful." He spoke slipping his eye closed.

  12. For once, Sunoe's knowledge of etiquette failed her.
What does one do in a situation like this? Invite the other in? Wish them well and return inside? Thank them for setting your bizarrely dislocated shoulder and returning your money and gift from a kindly waitress?
Picking up the sandwich and money, she held it awkwardly in her one good hand. She stared at it for a long time, inwardly wincing at the uncomfortable silence. When she looked back up, she could only do the first thing that actually came to mind.

    "...Want a piece of sandwich?"

The absurd question kind of stumbled its way out of her mouth and stood bewildered in the hallway. The ridiculousness of the entire situation couldn't help but become painfully apparent now. If she was one for much laughing, she'd probably begin to do so now.

  13. Fe'shi turned his eye towards her before giving her a soft smile. "Sure, a piece of sandwich sounds great." He spoke lifting himself up from the ground slowly walking over towards Sunoe. He reaches his hand out and takes hold of the bag drawing it up in his hand. He looked at her for a moment then looks away from her. Well, I don't think that the waitress had the sandwich cut in half. Do you happen to have a knife or blade that is handy?" He spoke softly to her before offering his other hand out to her, to guide her back into her lab. But that is if she only wanted to go back.

  14. She hesitated, looking back at the door to her apartment/lab.

"I-I'm pretty certain all I have are scalpels, and a pair of scissors."

It was true. Low on utensils, and living supplies in general, she only possessed what she could get by on. Her pantry normally contained bread, fruit, grain bars, dried and cured meats, cheese, soup...nothing that her lowly handful of spoons and forks couldn't handle.

Looking helplessly to Fe'shi again, she raised and dropped her good shoulder. This had been the strangest day in a long while, and she was giving up on trying to understand or avoid it. Didn't mean that she was any more comfortable, just not as frantic at the moment.

  15. He gave her a nod and proceed into the lab. His eye drifted about the place looking over the various objects and caged animals. She had the collection of them but nonetheless it was part of science. He moved over towards on of the tables and cleared away a space on it just big enough for the bag and sandwich it contain. He pulled the sandwich from the bag then placed it down onto the table, drawing off the cloth wrapping about the fluffy golden bread beneath it.

He reached his hand out away from the sandwich and took up that of a scalpel from one of the trays that looked clean to his eye then brought it back over to the sandwich placing it at the right hand corner of it. He drove the blade down gently into the bread and meats that was inside of it before drawing it down slowly along the bread making a tapping sound with each cut. He then took back the blade and placed it down on the cloth. "Sorry if this isn't much, but the waitress didn't give me a chance to order anything else before she wandered off."

Fe'shi took up both halfs of the sandwich and walked over towards Sunoe offering half of it out to her.

  16. Sunoe normally had such a composed and perfect air about her...but as Fe'shi turned to hand half of the sandwich to her, her caught her biting on the tip of one of her fingers nervously. She quickly dropped her hand and reached to the sandwich quickly, as soon as she realized what she'd been doing.

What had the girl so nervous? So many things, all at once. Her lab/apartment was far from visitor-friendly, and she'd never had a visitor in it before. At least it was clean...a little cluttered perhaps, but perfectly sanitary. And the scalpel, arranged with a new set of tools ready to be used. Now she would have to remember which one was the used one, and she'd have to go dig up a new one. And, did she have to entertain her guest? While her etiquette was impressive, she wasn't much a host. She assumed anyway. Oh, and there was only one chair. The other was currently serving as a tray for her important papers.

Taking the food, she gave a nod and fleeting smile, on edge but trying so hard to be polite and welcoming.

  17. Fe'shi returned the smile then moved over towards the door coming to a stop along side it. He slides down along the wall and comes to relax on the floor once more, taking a few bites of his sandwich. He lowered his eye away from Sunoe and sighed a bit feeling the tenison that was building up in the room. Within minutes the tenison was so great that you could cut it with a knife.

Fe'shi reached his hand up and grazed it over his scared shut eye and continued to eat. Figuring after all that it was impolite to go and talk with a mouth full of bread and assortment of meats and vegetables. He lifted his eye back up and looked towards her just standing there with the vacant look on her face. As if she has seen a ghost or something. "If you want me to go...I can." He spoke with an empty mouth before filling it again with another piece of sandwich.

  18. Hearing him speak seemed to snap Sunoe back to herself...again. She hadn't eaten anything yet, and was still standing, until he spoke.

"Oh, no. Not at all. I'm just not used to...having guests."

She stepped over tentatively and folded her long legs under her as she sat. Her tail curled around her, and she made sure her small wings weren't in the way of anything. The same seating ritual from the cafe. After an awkward moment of thinking to herself, she began to eat her half of the sandwich.

Was food always this good? Had she just not noticed before? It had been quite a while since she'd last eaten...

  19. He gave her a nod and ate the last of his sandwich before leaning his head back against the wall shutting his eye. He reaches his hand up and caresses it along the side of his neck. "It must have been a long time since you really had any kind of contact with another 'dragon."

He parts his eye once more and looks over at as she began to eat. He reached his hand out and touched it to her shoulder feeling over where he gone and put it back in place. He winced a bit then took his hand loking away from her. "You seem to be healing well, I mean it's healing much faster than I thought it would for a female of your kind."

  20. With the way she silently looked at him, it seemed that she didn't know how to take either of his comments...even though the comment about her frail kind was very true. The first comment though...did she look sheltered? Was there something about her that gave away the fact that she secluded herself from the rest of society most of the time? Suddenly extremely self-conscious, she couldn't think of what to say.

She liked to think of herself as composed and polite, setting a good example for her kind. Was she really that awkward? Her thin white fur did little to hide the embarrassed blush that was beginning to stain her nose and cheeks. Maybe this facade of a life was simply folly.
