Akira stood up and began to walk in the same direction she has been for days "if we keep a steady pace we will get to a large forest in the middle of this desert by the end of the 2nd day."
"Good, because this heat is killing my wings." he said, walking next to akira. "What are we gonna find at the forest?" he asked, looking ahead.
"Okay, and I'm sorrry about last night." he said, turning his head away and covering his head and shoulders with his wings.
"Okay." he said, turning his head back forward and looking ahead. {Well, at least I know she doesn't hate me, but does she like me as a friend, or, I hope, something more.} he thought, walking beside her.
Lukhan stopped, wanting to rest his own feet as well. "We could get there faster if we flew ya know." he said, flapping his wings to cool them off.
Akira smiled slightly "thats what i was thinking as well but don't go to high up, its cooler if you stay close to the ground." Akira started to flap her wings lifting her off of the ground.
"Shall we?" he said, pulling akira up and letting go of her hand, flapping his wings. "After you." he said, hovering in the air.
Akira glided through the air swiftly moving 10 times faster then they would on the ground. She only flaped her wings on occation not using all that much energy.
Lukhan flew a little higer than her, almost never flapping his wings. {I love flying over the desert, the heat from the sand provides enough updraft to keep me up, but it does need help every once in a while.} he thougth, flapping his wings again and still following her. {How can someone so graceful and beautiful have such a horrific past?}
Akira's feathers started to shimmer in the suns light. She thought with this speed they may get there faster.
Lukhan marveled at her, seeing the feathers reflect the sunlight. {I really, really, hope she likes me the way i like her.}
A few hours have past and she was still full of energy. "At this rate we may get there sooner then we think."
"Maybe." Lukhan responded, flying down to akira's level. "I just hope we don't run into anything on the way."
