He'd been slicking a few straggling sodden locks out of his sight when the niotie's mumble of <i>'uh-oh'</i> was caught dangling in midair, hanging like a dewdrop just about to fall. It was the sort of slow, squirming 'uh-oh' that made one know that the situation was not only bad, it was also going to get worse. His spin was slow, but the arrival of his words was even slower. They teetered just as much as Jynx's had.

Looking over Amaroq, however, caused Ploy a bit of relief. He'd imagined that when Jynx had said <i>older</i> brother she was referring to a machine, one much larger than himself, that lowly fisherdragon. Mind you, the younger arden's ferocity shone all too sharply in the narrow slits of his eyes and, just as well, blood was <i>much</i> thicker than water. So, without further ado, he spoke in a firm voice, but one that was peaceable, asking no harm. <font color=khaki>"Hullo sir, ah take et yor Jynx's brother? I was teachin' ya sista howta swim, issall. Ma name es Ploy. Y'kin ask your sister what we were doing, an' she'll agree."</font> He held out his hands, heavily scarred palms facing the sun, showing that he had only the most innocent of intentions.

  2. OOC: I think maybe Jynx has missed this one. (:

  3. ooc: Oh, sorry! I'm such a scatter brain. >.< *whacks head with newspaper*

Amaroq eyed the arden uncomfortably, wanting to be angry but not wanting it to be unjustified. It was obvious nothing was happening, although he didn't like the way Jynx scooted around behind the older male, hiding from him. <span style='color:purple'>"Since when am I the threat?"</span> He wondered, unconsciously leaning to the side so he could see his little sister. He'd seen the flash of relief in the arden's eyes when he'd first seen Amaroq, probably glad to know he was younger rather than older, although he had to respect the male's tact. Eyeing the male again, he flicked an ear back warily, keeping silent.

Jynx, for her part, was just trying to think of a way to hold off Amaroq before he could kill her new friend. But when moments passed and there was no flash of a knife in Amaroq's hand, she risked a peek around Ploy to see Amaroq studying them, most of his weight on one foot as he leaned to the side. <span style='color:blue'>"He's not angry!"</span> She said, just loud enough for Ploy to hear. Amaroq's eyes were still icy, and anyone who didn't know him would most likely doubt her judgement, but Amaroq's stance said it all; his side was unguarded, and if he was attacked he'd stumble and fall and be completely vulnerable. Her maw started to break out into a smile, though she was still slightly behind Ploy.

<p style="text-align:justify"> A supple ear flicked back to heed the young niotie's words -- her conspiratorial ways, like the subdued delight in her voice at Amaroq's "complacency", were all too endearing and caused a chuckle to tickle his chest. He should've been an older brother. Or a father? The thought was dizzying. He angled his jaw toward Jynx and gave a meek smile, one that asked for her help. <font color=khaki>"Why... whay don'cha show 'im whot I just taught'cha?"</font> he offered, giving a little wiggly-headed nods of encouragement. If the other's ocean eyes spoke of agreement, Ploy would sigh an internal sigh of relief. If they screamed "bad idea!" then... well, it would be likely that the arden's days were numbered.

  5. ooc: Hehe! Thanks. Ploy is awesome. :)

Amaroq's eyes got wide at the suggestion and he started to shake his head, but Jynx bounced out a happy, <span style='color:blue'>"Okay!"</span> And dove under the water. He started to dive for her, then jerked himself back, silently berating himself for coddling her; no wonder she ran off while he was gone. So he watched as bubbles drifted to the surface for long moments, unable to keep the worry off his face. <span style='color:purple'>"Why couldn't she stay home just this once..."</span> He thought, casting a wary glance toward the older arden. <span style='color:purple'>"Good thing I'm too exhausted to yell anymore."</span> He thought just as Jynx popped back up, her smile infectious. His lips twitched as the concern faded to a dull worry in the back of his mind.

  6. It was easy to see that Jynx's jubilance was the contagious sort -- she'd been able to keep her brother at bay for all these years, leaving him with only sheepish grins and a fierce sense of protection. Chuckling himself, Ploy extended his hand outward as if to display the little actress off, his rudder swaying happily behind him. "You should take a bow, miss Jynx. That was a 10 out of 10." He gave her an encouraging nod then shifted his attention to Amaroq, inclining his maw respectfully. "I'm sorry I gave you a scare, Amaroq'shu, but your sister should learn how to brave the water if she is going to live near it. In any case, maybe it's time we got out?" It was evident by the way he asked, the fisherdragon was letting only one party make the decision on this: big brother.

  7. Amaroq nodded quickly, relieved at the chance to get Jynx out of the water. Jynx took Ploy's advice and bowed, popping back up to grin happily at her brother. She bounced-literally-out of the water, slamming into Amaroq and giving him a huge hug. "I'm hungry. Can we go eat?" She peered up at her big brother, who stared down at her for a long moment, trying to decide how to tell her he was going to throw her over his shoulder and head home before she got into more trouble.

Jynx seemed to sense this; she gave him her best puppy dog eyes, pressing her ears back. "Please?" He sighed.
"Alright, I'll get you something to eat." She leapt back, whooping. Amaroq glanced at the 'dragon, smiling with grudging respect. "Would you like to join us for dinner?"

  8. OOC: Eep, forgot about his accent last time! Whoops! x:

"Ah wood like that very much, Amaroq'shu," he replied after some thought, continuing to acknowledge his respect for the younger arden. He than began to leave the sea behind, a trail of golden sand scintillating in his watery wake. "O'course yor hungry, a day's worth of swimmin' makes for a week's worth'a appetite." Just as he was about to motion to pat the little niotie's head, he stepped on a sharp shell hidden within the murk of the sand, causing him to leap and yelp, startled. He took it as a sign from Tejas to watch himself and, as such, scolded himself being so comfortable with the young stranger.

"Do ye' both live fairly close ta'ere?" he inquired as he made his way toward a nearby freshwater shower. A rudder-boy, for sure, but he didn't have much appreciation for the feeling of sea-salts dried in his pelt.

  9. Amaroq tensed ever so slightly when the arden reached for his sister, but the sudden yelp seemed enough punishment for the familiarity. Jynx, however, looked so concerned he immediately felt bad for thinking so. "Are you alright?" He asked, following Ploy to the shower. Jynx trotted after him, grinning brightly at his question. "No, we live out in the Tmu Desert." She answered cheerfully before Amaroq could stop her. He gave Ploy a sharp, considering look before deciding he could trust him enough with that.

After all, the desert was a big place.

  10. Being the polite guy he was, Ploy gave Amaroq a nod in reply of his concern, but really, his attention had been long stolen. The desert? He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the response Jynx had offered. 'In the desert?' It was a puzzling thought through and through.

He made an attempt to understand.

"Yah mean, yah' not from Mansukh ad'all?" His head went on an angle and his eyes got big and glossy. Being a water-born pup, the pendragon could barely comprehend the desert. At least, at first. "What're you doin' out 'ere, then? It'sa far way from the sands, as far as I'm concerned." But then again, any place out of sight of the shoreline was 'far away' for him.

  11. Amaroq nodded slowly, making sure Jynx wasn't about to give out the coordinates to their home, but she seemed satisfied with her answer, skipping ahead of them. Amaroq slowed his brisk pace to smile at her back, his eyes gentle and laughing. At Ploy's question, Amaroq shrugged. "I am here on business. She shouldn't be here at all." Giving his sister a pointed look when she turned to smile at him, all innocence. "But what can you do, yeah?" He sighed.

  12. [ooc]Hey there Jynxy. Do you want to rework this thread... perhaps make a new topic in a different forum where they start having dinner? c: Sorry I let this go stale. I'm a flake. d:[/ooc]

  13. ooc: Sure, if you want to. And don't worry about it, really; I was hardly here for a long time, so it's all good. ^^
