1. Leah did not notice the sun coming up until it reflected off the blade into one of her eyes. She dropped the knife and hissed as she brought a paw up to her face and quickly fled to the other side of the apartment into shadow.

You think you could close those blinds. She said, her voice a bit thin.

She slowly made her way to the fridge and opened a compartment inside and brought out a piece of ice.

God I hate the sun... she spat, holding the ice to her face.

  2. Hell, sorry. Should've warned you. Korif reached over and pulled the blinds down. You alright? He looked over at Leah, at the same time wondering if ice would really help. Hey, if it at least made her think it was helping, that was fine. He wouldn't really want to tell her otherwise.

  3. It's alright and thanks. Leah said, smiling a bit, the ice still over her eye.

She stood over the sink and let the ice clang on the metal as she dropped it.

The ice doesn't really help, it just makes it feel like that part of my face isn't on fire. She said, padding over to Korif.

She looked him over, her mind working in double-time. A small 'hrm' was emmited from her throat before she put her metal work back in the box and quickly put the box back where she had taken it out from.

I guess you've got to go, unless you want to stay... I mean you're always welcome here... but... yeah...

  4. Ah, don't worry about it. Just looking out for you. he smiled. Hm... there's supposed to be some little mafia troop convoy rolling through... you wanna come with? I've got something back at the safehouse that'll help with the sunlight if you do. Korif shrugged. He took the handgun from its holster and slid out the clip. Full. Good.

Still awaiting an answer, he carefully pulled the open back a little. Peering out of the window, Korif reckoned that it was still fairly early, so there was still a little while for them to ready up and head out to find the convoy. He doubted there'd be much loot for the taking, but it was definitely better than nothing.

  5. At the mention of the mafia convoy Leah's ears perked up.

Sounds like fun, I'm game. She said.

She walked into the kitchen again and opened the medicine cabinet, rumaging around and pulling down several bottles of pills and other substances, growling a bit after searching for a good five minutes.

It's been ages since I went out in the sun at all, now if i could only find those goddam pills... She muttered to herself.

Having emptied the one cabinet she stocked all of the bottles back into it and then opened the cabinet above the fridge. A trumphant 'ha' was said under her breath as she uncapped the bottle and popped two of the pills into her mouth.

  6. Alright. You waiting here? Korif was still absent-mindedly gazing out of the window. The sun started to heat his fur a fair bit, and it was smarting a little. Getting up off the sofa, Korif stretched before replacing the handgun, half hoping that there would be something a little more heavy duty at the safehouse when he got back.

Or maybe you'd like to wait somewhere a little closer to the route they're taking? He'd only just realised that that was a viable, and probably better, choice. He worried when he noticed Leah routing through the cabinet. He didn't know what the hell was in there, and half of it was probably crap that was doing her more harm than help.

  7. I can do just about anything... except the standing in the sun thing, that doesn't work out too well. Leah said, coming up behind Korif, though staying back some so she was not exposed to the sunlight.

The sun-blocking device or whatever it was you mentioned before, what is it and how does it work. I mean those pills I took will keep me up so I don't fall asleep in the middle of the day and roast myself, but still the sunlight issue... She said.

Her mind wandered to what said mafia folks might have in their convoy. One idea leading to the next. She figured that whatever she imagined was going to be more extravagant than what was really there, but it was always nice to dream.

  8. Just a cloth cloak with leather underneath. Pretty basic, to be honest. C'mon, let's go. Korif pulled open the door and wandered out, waiting for Leah. He had no idea how he was going to hit the convoy or when, but he'd figure it out on the way.

Oh, god, here comes teh block >.<

  9. Leah followed after Korif all the way down to the lobby and the thought only hit her when she got an odd look from the takula at the desk.

I don't doubt your masterful planning skills, but[/b] it's sunny out there and if i remember rightly it's a bit of a trek to your place from here. She said, and even though she said it with as little sarcasm as she could muster she still felt like she came off as a brat.

    Out of Character

That's okay, i'm running into it as well

  10. Yeah, sorry about it being so far. Kind of a nuisance when you need to get there quick, eh? Korif smirked. I suppose we could try slinking through the back alleys. Or try the sewer system? He half-knew that Leah would object to taking the sewers after the little 'episode' from a few days before.

  11. Leah nodded in responce to Korif's half-apology. Although she giggled when he mentioned their options.

Would these be the same sewers with the bigass rats that have blue blood and traumatized you the other day? She asked, smiling a knowing smile.

I think we should take the back alleys, in which case there's a different door we need to take, mainly because this one leads out to the deserted main street. She said.

Leah took one of his paws in her own and dragged him through the more shoddy hallways to a service entrance. They came out in almost total darkness because of the shadow from the buildings on both sides and the high roof of the apartment complex. Leah kept to the walls however, at one point jumping on top of a closed dumpster and walking on window ledges, just for the heck of it.

  12. Korif blinked as he heard Leah slink off. Another sudden ambience change was messing with his eyesight. At this rate, he'd end up needing glasses. Closing his eyes tightly for a second, he opened them, finding his 'night sight' had improved somewhat.

He looked up at Leah, trying to keep pace with her back at ground level. So, am I going to get to kill something on the way? This barrel's freezing! He pointed to the weapon in the holster with a cheeky wink. He had a feeling he was going to kill someone or something, whether or not they, it or Leah approved.

  13. When Korif spoke Leah stopped and turned before going back the way she had come. She moves so that she was behind Korif and put her paw on his right shoulder before lifting the gun from his person and moving away slightly.

Well sure, you can kill someone if you want... I mean I'm probably going to steal some stuff, hopefully not get noticed by anyone special and then sell it off again, but sure, I don't see why you can't kill someone. Leah said, examining the gun.

She ran her fingers down the barrel and held the gun aloft to look at it more closely before handing it back over to Korif.

You're lucky that the ammo for that thing comes cheap here, not like some of the other ones where you have to go through 40 some 'dragons pockets until you find some bullets. She said.

  14. Well, pays to know the right people. Korif smirked. He slipped the gun back into the holster and looked at Leah. So, are we going, then, or what? The only reason he was starting to get so impatient was because he had a feeling the convoy was getting close to the market square. Best place to make a scene, he figured.

    Out of Character

>.< Block

  15. Of course we're going, I would be asleep if we weren't going. Leah said, an expression of grummpiness on her face that was obviously false.

I might not be able to get to where said folks and convoy are so I may hang back, I'm better with night stuff. Though I'll be able to see you and be able to keep look-out and whatnot. She said, hating herself some inside that she wouldn't be much of a help.

    Out of Character

Tis okay, my brian is fairly shot at the moment xP

  16. Alright. And hey, don't beat yourself up because you can't get out into the sunlight. I'd sooner have someone that stuck to the dark than a pile of ash any day. he smirked, winking at her.

Korif continued onward, when he spotted gunmen in armour, one of them carry a box. Son of a bitch... This wasn't right... they'd arrived too early... but how? The timing was impeccable, it didn't seem possible to... never mind. Korif'd have to improvise. He was good at getting out of sticky situations, this was one of 'em.

  17. She nodded, yes, her being a pile of ash probably wouldn't do Korif any good, and it definitely wouldn't do her anything worthwhile. She ran two of her fingers down the side of his maw before slinking off to the shadows.

{I'm still around, keep me posted of what you see fit and I'll keep watch. Have fun.} Her thoughts snaking into his mind, sounding much like an attendants at an amusment park as though Korif was about to go on a ride.

  18. Korif smiled as he took the handgun from its holster and made his way out. 'No problem.' He pressed himself up against a wall until the convoy was a few feet ahead, then he slunk up to the rear-most gunman and put the gun to the back of his head, the weapon making a click as he did. He pulled the trigger and a rather messy display did ensue. One of the guard's eyes shot forth from its socket, and parts of his face followed. Korif hadn't realised how powerful a weapon it was.

The rest of the convoy stopped in their tracks and started plugging off shots at the attacker. As Korif jumped onto a wall and bounced himself off, he started reporting to Leah. 'Hehe. I just shot one of the guys and it's quite a mess. If you get the chance before this is done, take a look. I think it forced out one of his eyes.' As Korif dashed along an opposite wall, he managed another bullet into one of the other guards' gut. He went down, clutching the wound and screaming.

The last two proved to be more of a challenge, most likely looking to avenge the others. Korif pushed himself off the wall and managed to land inches behind one of the gunners, quickly snapping the guard's neck before shooting off to get behind the last. As the Anubi swung around behind the last gunman, his foe managed to get a few shots off into his leg. It wasn't fatal, but it would have hindered his escape. Taking a strong hold of the guard's neck with both hands, Korif dug in the pauldron's talons and shredded the right side of his opponent's neck. The last of them was already dead as he hit the floor. 'I just need to grab their quarry, and then we're done here.' Korif grinned as he relayed back to Leah.

  19. Leah let a wry smile cross her face as she watched Korif dispose of the members of the convoy. She liked his style... that and his gun's damage ratio. She nodded even though he couldn't see her when he told her to go and see the damage he'd done with his first shot.

{There's a fair bit up for grabs. I smell drugs, more drugs, something that I don't know the name of, but it's a plant so I can only assume... and there's a decent stash of metal things, probably weapons. If you find anything that looks like it's new scientifically in terms of metal, do you think you could grab some extra of it for me?} Leah thought to him.

She focused some more on the smells as she could not very well pull up a few of the tarps and other assorted methods of hiding what was in the convoy. The plant she smelled seemed familiar, but now that she thought about it, her sense of smell was going...

    Fuck...

    {Do me a favor hun, don't touch any plants you see and try not to breathe the scents in okay?}

  20. No problem. Korif replied. Kneeling down, he tied his bandanna around his muzzle and quickly picked the lock on the safe-like box. He pulled the door open and backed off a little. 'Well, what have we got here... definitely a plant, Leah. I see weapons, too... a handgun... a sawn-off... my god, these look like Earth relics...' Korif sounded stunned, and he was. It was the first time he'd been this close to a human object, and he'd actually managed to loot it from professional gunmen!

He looked back inside and he could see something glowing. He pulled it out and took a good look. A shard of metal with a rune inside. 'You see this...?' It would definitely be of more use to Leah than Korif, so he pocketed it for her. As for the plant... 'What d'you make of this?' He put a full-finger glove on his knuckle-glove-adorned hand in case the Vampdragon wanted to take a look at it.
