Oh my goodness... Korif was rubbing his eyes. What, she was wasted already? Err... this mean you're done already? Well, might as well see if I can't join her. Korif opened his new drink and had a few mouthfuls. Setting it down, he realised that this was much stronger, and livened up a feeling as though he'd been punched in the face by a hail of steel blocks. He could've sworn he'd felt blood escaping from his face. Oh well. He downed the rest of the bottle, about half, and thought he was going to pass out. His head was thumping and things were starting to get a little fuzzy-edged. Okay, this you didn't warn me *hic* about.
Who says I'm done? People jus' look a li'l funny. She said. To prove her point she downed another bottle of something and then picked up a second bottle and was about to drink from it, when she noticed Korif's expression. She gently pryed the bottle from his hand and replaced it with the one she'd just opened, with luck it'd be less of a drink than the last one. She looked at the new bottle in her hand, shruged, then tipped her head back and finished it. Okay, tha' was a bad idea. She mumbled.
The throbbing in Korif's head was starting to subside. Yer tellin' *ow* me... bet y'got the wuss drink ag'n, din'tcha? He took a sip from the bottle that Leah had swapped with him and paused for a second after swallowing. Nah... y'got the pansy-hol, girl... he grinned as he finished the drink. He looked around and the fuzziness was now starting to turn into more of a spikiness. Oh, lawd... *hic* he murmured, rubbing his eyes. It was even doing it to his hand, which was mere inches from his optics. He looked at Leah. Thanks... no really, I honestly think I can barf now without losing any of my *hic-blergh* dignity...
Leah laughed at Korif's drunken state and new accent. Any time, any time. She said, picking up another bottle. She took a swig then promptly turned and spit the drink back out. Stuff tas'e like shit! Looking at the bottle she could just barely make out what it said through her hazy vision -Midnight Hobo. Well that explained it. Le's go, 'fore one of us passes ou' here, dun wanna see the day timers. Leah said, slipping off her stool and holding on to the counter tightly, lest the floor come up to meet her very fast. She picked up the remainder of the bottles, three, and held them by the necks in one hand. Yuh comin'?
Mm-hm... dun' worry, I'll keep a tight 'old a' ya so ya dun' fall on yer rear. He winked at her as he slid off his stool and kept a surprisingly steady balance on the ground. Ah, what wonders there were in being an acrobat. C'on. You look like you could do with falling on something comfortable. An' I ain't volunteerin', this time. He got a loose hold of Leah's waist and pulled a little, urging her to move at his pace. Maybe he was going to throw up, after all.
One of the great things about being a Vampdragon was the mutation that kept bad blood from coming back up, it also happened to keep everything else from coming back up. You keep goin' that fast an' you're 'a be sick as 'ell. She said. Not only would Korif be sicker than a dog, but she'd also probably fall over, ah well, here's to being drunk.
Th'only reason amma goin' s'fast's 'cause I dun' wanna throw up out 'ere... he chuckled, grinning widely with drunken amusement. Soon enough, they came to the door of Leah's apartment. Korif gave a hiccup and sighed as he let his chest settle back down, watching the floor as it did. His vision flashed from normal to undeveloped-photo-type-negative. He blinked and looked at his Vampdragon companion. S'at ever 'appened t'you?
Leah shook her head and made her way down the hall. Coming to her room she fell back on the bed and kicked off her shoes. She could feel the Vapiric cells killing off the drunken ones and it wasn't pretty. Groaning she got up, leaned on the wall and set off for the kitchen. Cupboard doors thrown open she sifted through the bottles. Around the back she found some pain killers. Downing four without water she shut the bottle again and set it on the counter. Painkillers. Are. Your. Friend. She mumbled.
Korif hiccupped again. He bit down on his right finger, thinking it might help in some way, and went to lie on the sofa. As he stared at the ceiling, the vision flash happened again. This was getting weird. He rubbed his eyes and got comfortable, listening for when Leah came out of the kitchen. With a sigh, the thief turned his head so he was now looking at the door. Only now did he remember Leah's stuck-up friend. He knew he shouldn't have thought of her as that, but in his eyes, she was. Well, dun' think a'm gunna thr'w up... While the slight stomach upset was now subsiding, a feeling of minute sobriety crept up on him, but the flashes were still occuring. He moaned a bit and looked back up at the ceiling.
Leah walked over to Korif and sat on the edge of the cushion. He didn't look anywhere close to well, his eyes lost focus every now and then, crossing sometimes. Watching him with a small smile, she rested a hand on his forehead then brought it down to gently trace the side of his face. You all right? She asked, only minorly concerned. She knew that most 'dragons didn't sober up so fast and that when they did it was utterly sickening, at least, from what she had heard.
He hiccupped again. Y', fine. More resilient than you might think. Korif winked up at her as his vision flashed once again. A negative image of Leah was not what Korif wanted to see. Don't s'pose y'ever get that, do you? Whole 'sight changes from normal to negative' thing... Out of Character

Gargh. Evil writer's block again >_<

Not since I tried to kill myself. She said, in reference to his question. Leah would have given him something, but past experiences speak for themselves, you don't give living 'dragons medication for Vamps. It just doesn't work. I hate to say it, but you look utterly volnuerable when you're drunk.
Not a bad thing in your eyes, is it? he chuckled as he winked at her again. It seemed the really annoying hiccupping had now gone, and so- for the love of hell! The damn flashing again! Korif sighed as he rubbed his eyes. This was really starting to piss him off, alongside worry him. A feeling of upset was building in his chest. What if his vision was stuck like this? He'd probably end up trying to top himself. Still, the decision would depend on what happened to the frigging side-effect.
Guess not, seeing as how cute you look when you seem defenceless. She said, ruffling his hair. Her brow furrowed in concern when he went to rub his eyes. Flashes like that probably weren't too normal. She got up, and signaled that she'd only be gone for a minute. Going into the kitchen, she took a bottle of water from the fridge, came back over and handed to him. Drink... you sure you're alright? Leah asked. He looked like a sedated version of himself when she first met him, kind of paranoid, kind of worried.
Mm. Korif took a swig of the water and put the bottle beside the sofa. Cute? Never thought I'd hear that from anyone, let alone a Vamp. He smirked. The thief only just realised that he still had his post-shower clothes on, and only just remembered how comfortable they were compared to his old clothes. Look better when it's all black... He sighed as he looked out of the window. Looked as though he still had a few hours he could kill here before he had to head back to V's.
You need to get out more then, being voulnerable and/or defenceless makes you living folks very attractive, espcially to my kind. She said moving her face close to his. And by the way, you look fine when you're not wearing all black. She said, moving away slightly with a wink. Out of Character

Can you say "writer's block"?

Korif chuckled, then remembered the reason. Still, maybe Leah was one of those vamps that still held a shred of their normality, being able to overcome such base Vampdragon lusts and such. I'd ask if it was another reason, but I've figured out the overriding one. The thief winked as he watched Leah move off. Out of Character

Writer's block xP

There's a reason why all the 'dragons that work at Cirque are Vamps, it's a lot easier to keep your lusts in check if you feed off other folk's. She said. It was a rather good set-up. You go on stage, do your show, feed off the audience during your show, come off, get your pay check and leave. Basically getting paid to keep yourself alive. Of course, it's possible to forget that one went to work... She said, smiling darkly and brushing her fingers over Korif's leg.
Korif smirked. Oh, of course, but then, where's your paycheck? He looked over at the clock. 4:30. He hadn't really been out that long, had he? What time's the sun usually rise? he yawned lightly. He knew that, while he didn't want to go, he'd have to head back to Viriathos' soon. And he was really enjoying his time here with Leah, too...
What paycheck? She asked, innocently. Even if she'd been searched the check and money wouldn't have come up, she'd already dispatched them in her room. Leah moved her hand to run her fingers down Korif's jawline. She moved her head so her muzzle was close to his ear. We've got at least two hours and black-out curtains... She whispered.
