The warmth of Dreed's wing and arm wrapped around her was a welcome comfort from the chilly gusts of wind that swept upon them. She grinned gratefully up at him and shook her last braid loose, letting it tumble casually over her shoulder. Supressing a faint yawn, she closed her eyes and leaned her head against Dreed's sturdy shoulder. Her mind was still going over the joyous feeling of flight. It had been a pleasant experience, one she would treasure in her memory for the rest of her life. I haven't known you for very long, Dreed. But you've been kinder to me than any other creature I've ever met. Thank you, she said quietly, keeping her eyes closed.
Dreed grinned softly at the young 'dragon'd words then leans his head over next to hers closing his eyes slightly. Licks his lips a bit and looks up towards the starlite night, smirking lightly as he looked then lowered his eyes a bit to the lake that was off in the distances. Shining as the light from the stars beat down upon it. "Well, you have been more than a perfect angel here...with me...", grins softly and licks his lips a bit relaxing.
Faedra couldn't remember what the word angel meant, but she knew that it was a compliment, and she felt herself blushing under her fur. She muttered a quick 'thank you' and half-opened her eyes to take one last look at the stars, before she felt a wave of sleepiness overwhelm her. Gradually her head drooped slightly and she went limp, breathing softly in her slumber.
Licks his lips slightly and smiles relaxing his head against her slumbering one. Closes his eyes the rest of the way and mumbled lightly before sleep took hold of his mind and drove him into the darkness. Leans his head back up as he fell deeper into sleep and places it back against the rock. Giving a slight shiver before fully falling asleep.
A cool breeze suddenly awoke Faedra. She opened her eyes and looked around, slowly remembering all the events of the previous night. Smiling faintly, the young femme glanced up at the slumbering Dreed and carefully stood up, moving slowly so as not to wake him. Faedra walked to the edge of the cliff and watched the sun rise. She began to rebraid her hair, humming a song under her breath. Singing was her greatest passion, but she wasn't aware of just how good she really was. On all those lonely nights alone she had growing up, singing was her only comfort. She didn't know any songs, so she made them up herself. There were no words to her song, only the music of her voice.
Dreed comes to after a short while and opens his eyes looking to the back side of Faedra standing there at th edge of the cliff. Licks his lips a bit and yawns aloud lifting himself up off the ground. Flexing his wings out then folding them back against his shoulders. Walks up behind Faedra and places his arms about her waist gently, hugging her back against him. "Good morning, sweet child. Tis good to see you up and earlier." Smirks lightly and slides one of his hands up over her frame body to the side of her face and back down.
Faedra's ears flicked back at the sound of Dreed stirring behind her. She smiled faintly when she heard his voice greeting her sweetly. However, she was not expecting his sudden affectionate touch. She gasped inaudibly, but she did not flinch or pull away. Truthfully, his embrace was too warm and comfortable for her to brush away. His hands were gentle on her, and she felt no need for wariness. All her life she had wanted to know the touch of another of her kind, and at last Dreed had given it to her. Good morning yourself, she laughed, turning her head to look up at him over her shoulder. Do you always arise with the sun as I do?
Grins looking down upon her and nods slowly. Draws his hands back around from her body then drops them to his sides beneath his wings. Leans his head back into the wind and walks back over the rock then sets back down upon it lowering his eyes away from her. "Yes, I usually wake when the sun comes." Reaches a hand up and touches it to a deep blue scar upon his cheek as he stares towards the ground.
Faedra grinned at him and watched as he walked to the cliff edge. She noted the blue scar on his face and tilted her head to the side, gazing inquisitvely at it. How did you get that scar? she asked, walking over to his side. She reached up and gently traced it with her finger, her eyes lingering on it.
Looks down upon her slowly as she walks up along side him. Closes his eyes slightly as she touched her hand to the old scar. Reaches his hand up and gently takes her hand into his drawing it back down from his face. Licks his lips a bit and caress the back of her hand with is thumb as he looks to her face. "It was a mark that my father besowed upon me when I was 15 00 years of age." Turns his eyes away from her and releases her hand slowly then looks back out at the cliff, glaring slightly as he stood there. "I rose up against him one day when he was beating on my mother. Thus leading to my banishment from the family and everything else after that." Closes his eyes slowly and lowers his head a bit as the wind blows over him slowly.
A cool draft of wind came up as Dreed spoke. Faedra shivered, but not from the cold. She could imagine in her mind a young Dreed standing up to his father, and the picture made her feel proud of her companion. But her heart clenched with sympathy at the same time. She rested her hand on his bulky shoulder. I'm very sorry, she said softly. It must have been awful...
sighs soflty and nods slowly as his eyes drift open after the sudden wind came to a stop then he turned to her looking down upon her form. Reaches his hand out and lifts her eyes to greet his. "It was a chance for me to escape from my father's control and abusive ways." Runs his hand down from her chin slowly caressing the curve of her neck as he does. Draws his hand back away from her then turns his eyes back to the open view that set ahead of him. "Tis was the moment that my mother took and left with my little sister. So to tell the truth of it all...I'm glad it came to be." Smirked lightly then looked back to Faedra. Takes her hand in his then leads her back over to the rock from the night before then releases her hand as he sits down upon it instead of leaning back against it and relaxes.
Faedra listened intently as he spoke, and followed his lead back to the rock they slept against. She sat next him and leaned against the rock, examining her blade tail idly. The femme did not wish to meet Dreed's eyes as she spoke. I don't remember my parents...not their faces anyway. I can remember the sounds of their voice, but...they left when I was very young, she said quietly.
Dreed sits there listening to her words as he looked to the skies. Licks his lips slightly and runs his fingers over his other hand slowly, tracing the scar at where he carried the family crest from so long ago. Turns his eyes to her slowly as she spoke but then looked back off, remaining quite. Extends his wings slightly and flaps them a bit then folds them back once more just looking out at the skies, watching a few clouds go by.
In a way, Faedra was glad Dreed said nothing in response. It was awkward enough just speaking about her past herself, and she wasn't sure if she was fully ready to talk in depth about it anyway. She sighed to herself and looked up to the clouds, letting her mind wander.
Dreed turns his eyes to Faedra as she searches her thoughts of things. Extends his hand out and gently caresses the sdie of her neck as he places his arm about her then looks back out at the landscape that lied ahead of them. Licks his lips slightly then begins to hum a soft melody as he continues to look out then goes to sing it aloud. The sudden sound of flute and chime begin to errupt from the surround winds and area.
Feeling secure in Dreed's embrace, Faedra closed her eyes and listened with a half-smile on her face as her friend began to hum softly. Had she known the song, she would have joined in with him, but it was just as well that she didn't, because she enjoyed the sound of his voice alone. Her sensitive ears suddenly swiveled at the gentle sounds of a flute and chime. She did not know the names of the instruments, for she had never heard them before. She sat up abruptly and looked around. What is that sound? she asked, automatically assuming Dreed would know.
Dreed closes his eyes slightly and continued to sing on as the sweet sounds of the instruments. Flexes out his wings a bit then pops his neck slowly as he caressed the side of Faedra's neck gently listening to the sound of the flute and chime work into the melody. At the sound of the young 'dragon's voice, Dreed comes to a stop with singing then opens his eyes looking down upon the female. Smirks lightly and reaches to a side bag he has hanging about his shoulder then draws out the long wooden instrument knowing as the flute then holds it out to her. "This is the high sounding noise that sounds like a rejpt(bird)? This be the tool that be making it called a viosa(flute)." Smirks lightly and looks to her as she looks to the flute and goes over it.
It's...beautiful, Faedra whispered wondrously, her eyes hungrily taking in the sight of the intrusment. I don't think I've ever heard it before. How does it work? She tentatively reached out and stroked it with her finger.
Dreed grinned softly then placed the flute in Faedra's hands gently then takes hold of her fingers moving them over the surface of it slowly. "Okay, what you need to do it place your fingers over those five holes and relax them as you do. Just try not to be so tense." Looks to her as she attempts it. "Then once you get your fingers placed upon the holes, just put you lips on the mouth piece at the top of it and blow." Draws his hand back from hers then reaches it upon her shoulder, waiting to see what she does.
