Tox cringed as spiral licked his wounds. "Cut it out Spiral. It doesn't help anything, just grosses me out." He glanced around him once or twice then spoke again. "Some exposion, eh?"
Smirks and nods slowly as she draws her head back from one of Tox wounds. "That it was...that it was...", looks about the area also and sighs a bit. All that beautiful woodland, gone in a flash." Reaches a paw up and rubs the side of her face then drops her paw back to the coal black ground.
Shakes her head slowly and sighs as she continues to look to the ground. "Anything then stick around here...I guess." Rises up from sitting and walks slowly over to the stream that was steaming from the bomb's explosion then wades her way into it. Closes her eyes slightly and winces as the water touches against her skin. "But for now...we have to recover...", turns around when her whole body was submerged then lies her head against a rock in the water. Lies down in the water and relaxes as the hot water caressed and mended her wounds.
Tox nodded. He stepped back a bit from Spiral and lay down. He glanced at his wounds momentarily. The cut from before had stopped bleeding. But his burns caused much more pain than a thousnad cuts that size put together. He shook his head and yawned. Dangerous was this business of associating with escaped prisoners. Trouble had started rolling down the hill as soon as he met Spiral, and like a snowball gathered more and more mass as it rolled along. And the explosion and the two who'd caused it had been like a boulder rolling over him, crushing him and bending him to their will. Then again, Tox himself was an escaped Krokoni prisoner himself. He was just as much trouble as the three dragons he'd crossed paths with. "Aye Spiral, we'd best recover before we do anything else. But not here.." He began. This place was too close still to the prison, and they might be spotted. There had ben some foliage to cover them up before, but as soon as the explosion had occured, those trees had been bushwacked. Now there was nothing but some burnt stumps, some of which were still ablaze. The lack of places to hide themselves alone was enough to get them re-caught. The fact they were within walking distance of the prison added all too much to the risk, and the chance of capture was one Tox wasn't willing to take. They couldn't head for the desert. The poisonous reptilian life there, the lack of water and shade, and the seemingly endless nature of it shooed Tox away from the very idea. There was the coastline, with it's beautiful beaches and populated residences. No, too many tourists who might know who they were. Tox sighed, his aching body causing him to moan. He couldn't think when he was burnt so badly. "Got any ideas as to where we should go Spiral?" He said, a tired expression on his face.
Opens her eyes slightly and looks to him from the water then closes them again. "I haven't any ideas, becides the one that seems to be resonable enough to go through with." Gets up onto her feet and winces slightly as she does so. Walks up out of the water and coughs a bit. Shakes her fur slightly and walks over to where Tox lied then dropped down onto her hind quarters then sighs softly. "We could head to this cave that I know of. It meets on a boarder between the beach and where the desert begins." Looks to him from the corner of her eye as she knew that this place contained all of her goods she stole from the artifact warehouses and such. "But its just a suggestion. I mean there is enough water and stuff in there to last use for awhile if you was willing to go there with me." Moves her forepaws forward and places them out infront of herself just enough to stretch.
Tox shrugged. "No. I think we should get away from this place. Too close to that prison for comfort." He sighed and stood up again. "That cave sounds reasonable." He said, glancing in the direction she'd stated.
Nods slowly and gets up from the ground then begins to walk in the direction of the cave. Leans her head down as she goes and sniffs the ground, following a scent that would lead her back to the cave. Since there isn't anything really to go bye eye to follow anymore.
Tox half-smiled and walked in the diretion she was headed. He sighed, looking around at the destruction. "Pity, t'was a nice forest too." He said, glancing toward the charred ashes of what once had been trees.
Looks at a few of them out the corner of her eye then back to the ground as she continued to sniff her way to the cave. Lifts her head up slowly and begins to tort a little to get ahead of Tox. Making sure that there wasn't anyone there to pervent them from go any further.
Tox grinned at her lookout efforts and continued walking along, following the femora silently. Where he was going, Tox had little idea. Yes he knew they were going to a cave, but where was it? That thought, Tox knew, could have double meaning. It could mean Physically going somewhere, but Tox already knew the answer to that half of the question. He also knew that the question could mean where you, your soul and your life was going. This he did not know. Already a new chapter of Tox's life had begun; he'd made a friend in Spiral, and for the most part, he regretted ever associating with her, but there was a minute twinge of caring in Tox's voice when he spoke to her. That was because, she, unlike many other Dragons he'd met thus far in the world, did not shrink away at the sound of his name. She was kind to him, and that he did NOT regret. And so, in a way, his soul was growing more mature. It was finally letting him develop friendships and enjoy them. He was not fully ready for this to occur, but then again, he reacted that way to most change, even though a lot of the time change was for the better. He sighed. A thank you was most certainly in order. After all, he was rude but not completely devoid of manners. "Spiral, thank you for helping me in the fight." He said, groaning sightly because he hated being so nice.
Spiral came to a stop as she heard Tox thank her for being there for him. She looks back over her shoulder at him and grins softly. "Anything...for a friend, Tox. I'm sure you would have been there for me as well, if you was willing to be a helping hand to me one of these days." Turns her attention back to the ashy ground and continues to walk on. Comes to the point in the dead land where the blast stopped then looks about the flora. "Well, it looks like we are out of the ash, Tox. So I think it will be easier to get to the cave now." Giggles slightly and comes to a small stream then bows her head to it and gets a cool drink of the water.
Tox sighed in relief, they were finally out of the singed terra. The ashes had been hot on his paws. He had tried to keep them cool by walking out on the tips of his toes, but it hadn't worked that well. He scrambled over to Spiral and made a sort of snort-laugh at the hot ground which had hurt his feet. He nodded in a cocky manner and began to walk a tad faster, sometimes cringing from his wounds. "So Spiral.. do you know exactly where this place is? " He asked, much more confident in himself now that his paws didn't hurt him.
Nods slowly and walks on through the woods after getting a cool drink of the water. Looks about slowly as she goes and listens to the sounds of her friend's breathing and his laughing. Stops for a moment and listens for the sounds of wind passing through somewhere hollow. "Yeah, I know where it is...I mean I wouldn't steer you wrong." Closes her eyes and continues to listen for the winds.
Tox smiled and nodded. He suspected she knew what she was doing. "That's good.. the last thing I need now is to be lost.." He said, walking onward as he did so.
Spiral comes out of the wooded area to the open desert where it meets the beach. Looks to the ocean from one side then to the continuous dunes on the other. Licks her lips slowly then heads stright between the two. Comes to an end point and sees the large rock form that set there, has kind of a pendragon head look to it. Dashes over to the formation of the rock and climbs up on it slowly greeting a part of it that looks like the mouth. "Comeon Tox...this is the place...", heads down into the cave from there and closes her eyes slightly as everything fades to black.
Tox nodded and walked to the mouth of the cave. He sat down outside of it and sighed. They'd not been walking long.. but it felt like an eternity because of his wounds.. "It's a nice rock." He sneered, some of his confidence restored.
Sighs softly and heads down into the dark until she came to a torch. Blows on it then the trouch lights up, giving light to the steps and down a hall a bit. Spiral turns herself to the hall then blowing out more of her breathe and the whole hall lights with the torches.
Tox saw the flare of the torches and glanced in Spiral's direction. Then he turned his gaze away from her, and up to the stars. Where would he go from here? What adventures lay ahead on the path that was his life? Tox wasn't quite sure. But he did know it'd be exciting. And, he added silently, he'd found a friend in Spiral. Now he had a comerade, more importantly, an ally. Now he wasn't completely alone. And perhaps, if his current luck held up, Spiral would become his partner of sorts. He grinned slyly, in that way he almost always did, as he inquired about that sentiment to Spiral. "So.. Spiral.. how'd ye like to be my partner? My assistant that is.."
Looks over her shoulder at him as he set up at the enterances of the cave. Glares slightly at him and smirks. "Well, I'm not much of being someone's assistant." Laughs slightly and walks down the hall that lead deeper into the cave. Faint sounds of rushing water could be heard from within the cave and the echo of her paws against the ground.
