If up is now down and down is now up, walking on the ceiling won't spill your cup. I think that your riddle means that night has fallen if you want to look at it scientificly. Or,better yet the sky has been torn off the Earth, rudley shoved under the ground, and the ground turned upside down at the last second to apologize for the trouble. I think that that would be an interesting Earth.
