During the whole incident with Justine's father and Yuin, Drak had not really payed attention. He was once again off in his own little world, waiting patiently for class to start. Finally, Naraku left the class and Drak though to himself It's about time he left! I came here to learn, and I have better things to do than sit here and wait! As Elethea gave her lesson on anatomy, Drak was a little bored, but he payed attention and made notes on things he thought were important and that he had forgotten, or had never known. He supposed if he wanted to learn how to heal he would have to know a lot about anatomy. Then Elethea gave the class the decision on wether to continue the lesson the following day, or just keep going. "I would prefer if we just continued the lesson for now," Drak said. He was quite anxious to learn healing magic, for he knew it would come in handy sometime. He didn't show such a strong desire to others, but truthfully he couldn't wait to continue. Drak never wanted to come to school, but by the end of the day he never wanted to leave. He loved to learn, although he did not like showing up at places at a set time everyday. He hoped everyone else also wanted to continue, observing that they were very anxious about learning as well, or so he thought anyway.
Kuentin had been glad when Naraku left. He didn't like trouble and he could feel the tension between him and Yuin. He had come to the class to learn, not to witness a fight. He relaxed when Elethea began her lecture. Never had he seen Anatomy in such detail and had noted down all the new things, that is, almost everything. Though he had studied Healing for a long period of time, his teachers had always had a different approach to healing, Â a different technique. He had never learnt the properties or regeneration. His head hurt a little as it tried to memorise all the terms he had just heard. Though he did feel too much knowledge was now cramming his brains, he loved learning and decided tha, if the others didn't mind, he would enjoy a longer lesson. - I, too, would like to stay on.
Yuin didnt really have an opinion on the matter. While it would not have been entirely true to say that she had been held enraptured throughout the lecture, she had certainly not been bored, either. And while perhaps moving on could be interesting too, basically Yuin wanted to do whichever the teacher thought best for them to learn. Yuin was taking this class because she thought she needed it, rather than because she was particularly fascinated by all the minute details or had any particular pre-discovered aptitude for it. But, since she had signed up for it, she would try her best. Now, she merely said "Oh. Um, basically, whichever would best help us learn the basics of Healing is fine with me. If that's by learning more Anatomy, I'm fine with it. But going on to other things would also be cool with me." she spoke to the room at large, although the comment was mainly directed at Elethea - after all, it was Elethea who would know which was best. She was also careful to avoid Justine's gaze. She was immensely and immeasuraqbly glad that Naraku had gone, but didn't think that Justince would appreciate knowing just how glad. So, she focused on Elethea, Drak and Kwentin.
Elethea nods to the students of her class, and smiles, "Then I suppose we will continue. With something hopefully interesting to you." The healer allows herself a giddy grin. Now she'd teach them some magic, her way, and help them perfect it if they already knew it. She bend down and pulls a package from behind the desk in the front of center of the room, rather well-sized, at that. Wrapped well, and individually, were an equal amount of foot-square pieces of kyffen meat. Raw, of course, but not dripping or disgusting. Rather ready for eating or cooking. She sets one in front of each student, very careful not to put the packages on top of any notes, or in a wobbly position. "Now, for the magic portion of this lesson. "The kyffen meat is not for eating - yet - but rather to practice magic on." she nods to all of them, "I was going to do this the next class, but you all seem to have a fair understanding of anatomy now, that we'll try, if you're willing." She gestures to the meat, "These raw pieces of meat have the same cell composition as pendragons, and most other animal-based forms. Thus, you should be able to heal it." grinning, Elethea adds, "Cut it, not all the way through just yet, but enough that it's separated. If you'd like a knife rather than using a claw, I have some. Your job will be to convince these rather lifeless cells to come back into existance and join again with one another." Cutting all the way through was not advised yet, because reattaching severed body parts was more difficult than healing a cut. You had to keep all cells healing at the same time, which required much more focus and effort than healing a slice wound. She sits, "This may be difficult, and you may approach it from whatever means you feel nessecary. I must touch my patients, and close my eyes to visualize. You may need to see it, or not, touch it or not, vocalize your magical desires, or do it through mental visualization. I will observe, and help you as you go on." The healer looks at all of them, "You may begin whenever you feel ready. And please, don't feel dicouraged if you don't get it the first time, I will help you, so you'll be very capable of healing, at least wounds like these, when you leave." she smiles genuinely.
Kuentin grinned as Elethea placed the meat infont of him. Though he loved lectures, he adored above all practical work. He drew the claws of his right front paw, and, using the thinnest and sharpest, he began cutting the surprisingly tender meat. He let his law sinkinto the raw flesh and slowly pushed it forward and stopped once he had cut about 3/4 of the piece. Regeneration was rather different from all he had previously learnt. he had been though to fight the sickness or weakness that caused the wound, pain or disease. He now saw the advantages of Elethea's technique as there was nothing to fight to heal a cut. Using his newly acquired knowledge he retracted his bloody claw before closing his eyes and visualising the different cells. He mentally named the different types of cells then the dead ones and envisioned them coming back together, regenerating. He opened his eyes, anxious to see if he had been successful, but his inipiant smile disappeared as he saw that the meat was still torn. he was about to ask Elethea what he had done wrong when the flash suddenly began to work. Slowly, yet surely, the tear was closing, progressively. Estatic, he looked around to see if Elethea had seen.
Elethea smiles broadly, and winks at Kuentin, as she catches out of the corner of her golden eye, his kyffen piece of meat as it slowly but surely closes up the slice he'd torn in it moments before. She nods just the slightest, and appreciatively, telepathing, {Very well done, Kuentin.} She wasn't one to leap about screaming success, nor favor one student over another, but her pride was clearly evident at his achievement. Elethea scans the rest, looking to the others as they, too, attempt the regeneration healing magic.
Justine cut the meat so it was almost two pieces and then closed her eyes. she invisioned in her head of it coming back together. she opened her eyes and frowned. it was still cut. after waited a minute it finally came back together. a smile then came back to her face
Yuin closed her eyes, envisioning the slab of meat behind her lids. Carefully she slit the meat delicately with one claw, picturing blood oozing out of the wound in her minds eye. Then, focusing, she attempted to concentrate on the piece of meat in front of her, envisioning the cells regenerating and the gap in the meat slowly closing as the wound healed. Opening her eyes to see if she had been successful, she was sorely disappointed, especially as the others seemed to be doing perfectly. Trying again, she met with know better luck, but, determined to succeed, she persevered, and finally, upon opening her eyes the third time, she smiled triumphantly - too soon, for, her concentration lost, the meat, which had slowly been sowing itself back together, suddenly stopped all progress. Frustrated, Yuin slumped in her seat, feeling drained of energy. That stuck-up brat Justine's smug smile did nothing to improve her temper, nor the 'pathed comment she overhears as Elethea praises Kwentin. She remains slumped in her seat, eyes closed tiredly, the chunk of meat still half-healed on the desk in front of her.
Elethea nods to Justine, smiling, equally as proud as when Kuentin had attempted the regeneration healing. Her gaze drifts over to Yuin, and at seeing the tired 'dragon, and the half-healed meat, she smiles gently and relapses into Ramathian as she privately telepaths, {Fyolp iyo leca na sy halg iyo? Mys shus iyo maap es, Yuin, ros E kum halg iyo taa fhaja iyo faja kyjjaks, ump hyf sy py es uduem.} Yuin had already gotten it; she'd just stopped halfway, and the spell appeared to be tiring her out, what with repeated attempts, would happen. The healer walks over to sit in front of Yuin, and the kyf meat on the table, patiently waiting for a reply - she wouldn't dare be pushy.
Drak smiled. He had been waiting to attempt magic and now was his chance to prove himself. He sliced through the tender meat, making sure not to slice all the way through. Afterwards he stared down upon the raw meat and closed his eyes. He recalled an image of the meat and he slowly visualized each cell coming together forming bonds and reviving dead cells. He opened his eyes and his meat lay there in the same condition as before. He waited a while, hoping it would start later, like some of the other students, but nothing transpired. He once again shut his eyes and this time whispered to himself, commanding the cells to unite and he visualized each one of the coming together once again. He open his eyes and he saw the meat slowly coming together, but then it stopped. Drak realized his concentration had broken, so he once again closed his eyes and repeated the method. He gave the meat enough time to heal before opening his eyes again. His meat was once again in one peice. He smiled once again to himself; he had just done his first healing spell. Then Drak realized he was starting to get exhausted. Luckily, he was used to magic, and could endure longer and could continue to cast spells.
Oh man oh man.Eka mumbled as she walk down the halls in Janardan Academy. She was new to the school and had gotten lost on her way to the healing class. Aha. There it is. She quietly opened the door and looked around. It looked like every one had already started. She quietly went to take a seat in the back and to pay attention to what every one else was doing.
Kuentin, still filled with bliss, noticed Eka as she entered and sat down. He wondered where she came from and why she was so late. Was she new? Filled by a familiar curiosity, he telepathed the newcomer: { Hmmm ... Hi there? You are late, you know? I guess you do. You new? }
Elethea break from Yuin for a brief moment to smile at Drak, watching his progress, and finally his success with the healing. {Nicely performed, and good stamina, by the way.} She looks to the new student as she enters, and chuckles. The class had already gone on for over an hour; perhaps she should suggest one of the students to catch her up.. Elethea privately telepaths her, and mentally speaks as she always does: calmly and genuinely gentle. She was a softspoken healer, after all. {My name's Elethea, I'm sure you know where you are, and that you're a tad late. Would you like a private lesson a little later on to help you catch up, or one of the other students to fill you in?}
Eka heard one of the students telepath her. {Hi there, ya I am new to the school a got terribly lost. I am sure that I was walking in circles, then I finally found the room. My name is Eka Tsyjn , what yours?} Then she replied to the teacher {I am really sorry that IÂ’am late. Would you like me to come back later? Or just stay here and watch? Whatever you think will work. }
{ Don't worry Eka, everyone gets a bit lost at first, but you'll get used to it. My name is Kuentin Amarera. You might need to catch up quite a bit, you've missed most of the lesson. Do you have any classes after this? If not, I could show you my notes and if you so, I might help you to find your next class. }
{No, I donÂ’t have a class right after this one. That would be great. I guess I will just watch for now and see if I catch on.}Eka telepathed Kuentin with a smile. She pulled out paper and a pen for later while watching how some of the others made the meat comeback together.
Elethea, glad to know this rather late student would easily be able to catch up now that another sudent, Kuentin, had offered to assist her. That problem settled she turns back to Yuin to await her reaction to her previous offer.
OOC:Sorry it took me so long, had a bit of a writer's block, and then just didnt get around to it... ::sheepish:: IC:Yuin had been staring at the newcomer, but caught herself up at it as Elethea turned back to her. Giving herself a mental shake, she stammered out nervously "Yh! I-iat glauta! S-shus fyolp ra b-baji c-cemp yv iyo!" That came out sounding horrible. I'm just stupid anyway, and Elethea's just too kind to tell me. I should just drop this course, all the other's seem to have no trouble at all, but I can't even manage a simple exercise without teacher's help. she thought miserably. But she did sit up a little more to pay attention to whatever Elethea had to say.
Kuentin could see Yuin's unease, he decided to telepath her. { Cheer up, Yuin. You know, I've been doing over 3 years of healing and I don't think I was half as good as you when I first started. } He hoped that did not sound plain stupid and answered Eka. { Ok then. Maybe we could meet up in the courtyard after this. Oh, do you understand ramathian? Most of my notes aren't in the Modern language. }
Eka turned back to Kuentin {Well I just started learning it but IÂ’m catching on fast. It shouldnÂ’t be too hard. The courtyard is fine with me. I guess I better let you get back to what your doing.} Eka telepathed back to him.
