Jynx screamed as Fey fell through the opening, jumping back. Seeing the look on his face, she fell to the ground and started laughing hysterically, unable to control herself. "You scared me." She said between giggles, clutching her ribs in a desperate attempt to hold herself together. She swallowed hard, but the laughing wouldn't stop. After a while, she managed to get up. Offering Fey a hand, she tried once again to stop laughing. "Need some help?"
As soon as Jynx started to giggle Fey's will over his laughter disappeared. The entire cave was filled with their combined giggles. It was only when they both could laugh no more that Fey could actually get up. "Heh you scared me more since when do walls move?" "Besides you ruined my trick, by tricking me again by sheer accident." Once Fey was up on his feet again did he wonder were he was. "Um where am I?"
Jynx wiped her eyes, still grinning. "Walls don't move, but doors do." She swallwoed hard, almost ready to go into another fit of giggles. "What trick? I never meant to trick you. I was where I said I would be, wasn't I?" She pointed out. When he asked where he was, she quieted for a moment, thinking. Why not share her library with him? He might like it. And he seemed to appreciate gems, so maybe he would like the room...without warning shr grabbed his hand and tugged him down the hall to the wooden door, pushing it open and leading him inside. "This is my secret library. Like it?" She asked, letting go and smiling proudly.
Fey was amazed with it totally he could think of nothing at all other than a quiet "wow". He trundled around gazing at the volumes and the gems it was to be frank beautiful, though a proper order would be needed for the books. "I could sit here and read for months and still not finish one bookcase." Then he looked about at the crystals. "Let alone tuning to the gems." Fey was even more surprised at the layout of the gems, the mix, the unknowing way she had set them out. "You do realize that you have chosen the perfect gems for a library?" After that he just went silent from all the excitement he had to calm down.
Jynx watched as he looked around, pleased that someone else liked it. "You're the first person I've shone this room to. Not even my brother knows about this place." She said quietly. She walked over and touched one of the gems on the wall, a bright red and yellow one that she remembered Fey had wanted. "I just went through my collection and picked the ones I thought would look good together." She turned back to him, smiling again. "I guess we're friends now, huh? I mean, I've never trusted anyone with my secret library, and you're standing here." She looked down, thinking. Maybe I shouldn't have let him in here. Maybe I should have kept it to myself, she thought quietly, but quickly pushed those thoughts away. "Come on, I bet your still hungry, or maybe tired?" She started to walk out, blowing out a few lamps but leaving one for him in case he wanted to stay.
"Heh, of course we're friends now, also I'm always one for keeping secrets." He was tired a bit after all hours of walking in the sun and around the cave would tire anyone. Fey walked over to the last lantern switching it of while watching as the gem's insistent twinkling slowly vanished. Pleased with the darkness he walked out closing all the dors behind him. "I am a tad tired, I've been so stupid of late you know, but thankfully you were here to help." Fey suddenly got a bad feeling, remembering that he had left his haemitite bands by the fire. "Oh crap my bands!!" Fey sprinted to the fire-place fearful of what might happen.
Jynx grinned at Fey and started to go to the green room to get him a blanket and pillow when he broke into a run, headed for the red entry. She ran after him, worried. "What? What's wrong?" She called as he disappeared. Her ears perked up, listening. "Bands? What-" She stopped as she entered the red room, confused and a little scared for her new friend.
When Fey entered the room he was stunned his bands were still there hanging on the hooks in front of the fire glowing white hot. Oh no....okay I need a err stick yes thats it I need a stick, to get them off the hooks. "Okay don't worry I have everything under control, I need a stick of some sort heat resistant to get them off those hooks before they melt." Fey grinned slightly. "Heh see what I mean 'bout being stupid, I put them there to heat up a little and well forgot."
Jynx thought for a moment. "The only sticks are outside, but I wouldn't go out there right now if I were you. Here, I'll get them." She rushed into the green room, picking up an old, tattered cloth that didn't burn easily, and took it out to the red room. Setting it on the floor farther away from the fire, she went back to the bands. Biting her lip to distract herself, she picked up one band and ran it over to the cloth before doing the same with the other. Her fur was singed a little, but that was okay; it would grow back. She went back to the green room and filled a basin with water, dipping her burning paws in she sighed as the heat slowly died away. "There. The bands should cool off in about a half hour." Jynx called out to Fey, keeping her paws in the freezing cold water, closing her eyes and sighing again.
Ouch!!Fey stood rooted in amazement at her she she removed the bands by hand. "Your crazy you know that!! He walked into the green room which he'd assumed as being the kitchen and started going through the cupboards seizing a mortar-pestal along with a small bag of mixed herbs and a glass of water. "Give me some time and I'll have something made that'll get rid of the pain and help heal the wound in no time promise." He took a bit of the cloth too as he walked out. For the next ten minutes Fey was silent crumbling and cushing away, until a sudden cry of "Ah ha". It was evident that Fey was done with his poultice. "Jynx could you come here for a sec?"
Jynx rolled her eyes as Fey called her crazy, pulling her paws out of the water and drying them carefully on a small cloth. She listened as Fey ground something together, frowning slightly as she wondered what he was doing. Her ears swiveled to the sound of his voice and she obediently went over, looking at the strange concotion in the bowl. "What is that?" She asked hesitantly, taking a couple steps back.
"Heh that is soon to be put on that."Pointing at the cloth. Once it was fully mushed up he poured the contents onto the cloth and spread it evenly. "Okay this is a poultice I will put it on your burns and by tomorrow you wont even notice you were burnt and the fur will grow back faster." He noted her grossed out look and sighed. "I know how it looks, but this Takula-turd looking thing will make your paws good as new. That way your brother won't have to rip me a new one." Fey laughed a little.
Jynx watched as he put the strange concoctionn onto the cloth, her lips twitching uneasily. "Uh huh." She took another step back, starting to shake her head. She listened to what he had to say and sighed, reluctantly stepping back up beside him. Hearing his joke, Jynx laughed and held out her paws, still eyeing the poultice uneasily. "They don't really hurt." Jynx lied, then as an afterthought added, "And I have all month to let them heal; my brother visited a few days ago." That, at least, was the truth. She sat down on a small stool, waiting.
"Of course it hurts, now hold still while I put on." Fey slowly wrapped paws with the poultices since he had cut it in two strips he saw her relief at the calming coolness of them. He had even left enough room for her digits to move with almost all the usual room. "Thats what studying healing can do I suppose." Once he was done he stood up and picked up the plate he had left by the fire. "What made you do that I mean no normal person would have done that, I was about to say that we could have put the fire out instead then waited or them to cool?"
Jynx closed her eyes as her paws slowly cooled down. It felt wonderful, no matter what that stuff looked like. Her ears swiveled toward him and she smirked, opening her eyes. "I don't know why I did it. I was trying to think fast, ok? You aren't the only one being stupid today." She grinned, standing up. She moved her paws slightly, making sure she could still grab things, before pulling a blanket and a pillow from one of the shelves. "Here. You said you were tired, right? Pick any room you want. My home is yours." She tossed him the blanket and pillow, glad she could still use her paws. "Thanks for healing my paws, too. See you in the morning." She went out and down to her room, studying her paws the whole walk. Almost as soon as she lay down on the mat, she fell asleep.
"Heh I see, cheers If you need me I'll be in the purple room." Fey put the pillow and blanket on top of his bags and slowly stumbled his way down th hallway to the room of purple admiring the glittering around him before setting his stuff up. The blanket was on the floor bags to the side, he left one lantern lit to keep the twinkling around. He slowly laid down letting his mind free to the feel of the room which was quadrupling his general care-freeness. Soon Fey drifted off into a dreamland of violet.
Jynx woke in the middle of the night, sensing something wrong. She got up quietly, tip-toeing down the hall until she came to the purple room. In the fading light of a single lamp, she saw what had set her skin tingling. All around the sleeping Fey were Kcalda, crawling on the walls, over him, into his bags. "Fey! Fey, wake up!" She whispered as loud as she dared. "Don't move. I need you to hold your breath when I come back. Are you awake?" She itched to kill a few of the bugs, but she didn't dare while Fey was in the room. They would all swarm for him. Don't sting him, don't sting him, please, please don't sting him, she thought as she rushed to the green room to get the bug spray.
Fey's dream was slowly destroyed by a slight tapping sound. He looked around slightly noticing with a little shock that there was more things twinkling than before, lying there hoping it was still a dream he stayed still until... "Fey! Fey, wake up!" He watched as Jynx left him, he couldn't believe it these things were stealing his sandwich box. Oi give them back they're my favorite flavour, give it back He screamed in his head. If there's one thing someone should not do to Fey, then it is stealing his food. How can I just lie here as they take what they want But he stayed still obediently until she comes back.
Jynx searched frantically through the shelves, but the bug spray was gone. She did, however, find a flamethrower. Too dangerous, she decided, putting it back and continuing her search. She found a container, much like the one Fey had. She took it and remembered something she'd read about the Kcalda; they were extremely stupid. She grinned and ran on all fours back to the purple room, bounding inside and blowing out the lamp. Her eyes adjusted quickly, and she stole the sandwich box the Kcalda were after. "I wonder if the Kcalda like sand. Guess we'll find out." She turned and ran, opening the container to lure them out of the room. By the time she got to the metal sheet she'd drawn across the opening earlier, thousands of them were swarming after her. Jynx pulled the sheet back just enough to throw the container out into the sandstorm, her ears pressing against her head as a screeching, scratching sound filled the cave, echoing off the walls.. The Kcalda swarmed after the sandwich box, moving fast. She closed it quickly after the last one scurried out, and walked back to see if Fey was ok. "Nothing like a Kcalda nest to wake you up at night." She said, shaking hsi shoulder in case he was still asleep.
Fey watched as Jynx came back to turn down the lamp. Oh thats nice just leave me here in the dark with them and she doing with my sandwiches. Yes they're going huzzah! After what seemed like an hour Fey had calmed down enough to close his eyes when Jynx appeared shaking his shoulder. He sat up slightly, still all confused. "Scalda? What are they?"
