1. Lyra watch as the other took turns throwing their knives and daggers. She nodded at Aggro’s words. She then grins at Sirius as she watched her throw. “Your not half bad your self."

She waited a few seconds before all the others had finish throwing or stopped before she quickly went over to retrieve her weapons. She takes a little more time this time. She takes into thought the distance and how hard she would have to throw. She then returns back to her spot next to Okkie.

She watched the others for a bit to see if she could learn anything from them. She then made sure that no one was going to get their own knives when she took her throwing position once again. She gave it another go. This time all 4 weapons where in the fourth circle out or closer. She grins at herself, seeing her improvement.

  2. "Thanks," Sirius said, making sure all was clear and nobody was throing before setting herself in the same position she was in before and trying again. Thunk, thunk, thunk, one by one she threw the knives. She looked at it, to see what was damage, and was quite shocked by the results. She had not had to fix herself nearly so often. Two were in the white ring closest to the bullseye, spaced an even distance apart, the third had actually reached the center.

Sirius shook her head, still in disbelief, but she knew she could get better. And would she still be able to hit as well when her target was a moving, living, thinking opponent? The only thing that would help is practice, practice, and practice again.

  3. For quite a few minutes, the dark-hued male quietly observed the other eager students. He contently watched the 'dragons throw and retrieve their knives in anticipatory silence, momentarily ignoring the fact that his deep crimson mane obnoxiously insisted upon falling into his view. Upon being addressed by Aggro, however, Kiku instantly snapped to attention and grinned in an almost apologetic way, his serpentine tail lazily curving about his long legs as his pale gaze quickly lifted to meet his teacher's.

"No, I'm afraid that I haven't," was his polite reply. As a bit of an afterthought, he added, "Should I have thrown already? I wasn't too sure as to whether or not I should've just started right off." The young pendragon was very careful to keep any traces of nervosity from swaying his deep, clear voice. He guiltily smiled a bit at his own supposed foolishness, his dancing tail flame gently flickering as he spoke.

  4. Aggro smiles at Kiku, "I'll give you some pointers, then. After that, you can easily take it from there."

She hadn't noticed any quiver in his tone, rather, he seemed calm and sure of himself, despite his being new to throwing a knife. What gave him away as being either shy or nervous, or perhaps a smidge of both, was the guilty smile that followed. Her smile endures genuinely; she'd encountered few like him - able to control their emotions so well. Even if at the last moment they slipped just a tad.

She points at the knives, "There are two ways to throw a knife. One is to rotate the knife blade over handle, and the other is to throw it straight. It's really a matter of preferance, and what comes easiest, but I'd suggest trying both.

"To rotate the knife, get up some momentum by holding the knife in your paw, cocked back by your ear. From where you're standing, I'd say.." She looks at the target to judge the distance, "Try holding the handle first, and grip it loosely between your first finger and thumb. When you're throwing, lead with the butt of the handle and flick your wrist downwards. That should set it into a spin."

She grins and winks, "For a straight throw, just omit the flick, and lead with the blade."

Aggro then looks to the ladies, and observes their progress. Seeing their aim was getting much better than their initial throws, she assumes they've gauged how far away from the target they need to be, how to hold the knives and dagger, and just how hard to throw to, at a minimum, hit the target. Thus, she poses the question, "Have any of you ever thrown multiple knives at the same time?"

  5. "To be honest this is my first time with knives," Sirius replied to that question. She looked to the target again, then back to Aggro. "But I think I'm learning fairly well with these targets I guess, and multiple knife throwing sounds like a really useful skill to have."

  6. Meanwhile, at the end of the row, Okkie took another full minute or two to prepare her second toss. Every muscle in her slender cinnamon body quivered as she tried to align herself perfectly. Even her tail began to twitch as tension, nervousness, and agitation built up in the young female. I have to get this right... Just gotta. Look how well the others are doing. I am so far behind. Must get this... gotta get it... Come on, you can do it. Coaching herself to try and rid of the negative feelings mounting inside her, 'Kie tried her best to position herself... then flicked her wrist and sent the second knife gliding towards the bullseye.

But this one was either caught by a breeze or maybe she'd just put too much curvature in her throw. Either way, the knife entirely missed the target, and Okkie's ears wilted as the blade went to the right of where it was intended and landed in the grass. She was embarrassed, and hoped no one had seen her mistake. She wanted to look around to make sure no one had, but that would be awkard. So, frustrated, humiliated, and angry, the femme turned her icy gaze to her left-over knives. Trying not to scream or whine about her failure.

And then a random impulse came into the banded 'dragon, and she reached down and scooped up all the knives. By now, the anger was really becoming dominant amongst her turmoil of emotions, and she wanted to kick herself. Instead, Okkie fingered the knives, and then chucked them with all her energy at the target, griping loudly as she did so.

She didn't notice this - not expecting anything but a few more misses and chastisement from Aggression - but all three or four of the knives bit right into the edge of the target's center. With quite a loud "thunk", half their silvery blades disappeared. Heh, take that for throwing multiple knives!

  7. Aggro laughs aloud at the sight of 'Kie's knives all sunken into the target center. Well, off center a tad. But center, still! Her laughter was not at 'Kie, nor the knives finding their mark so well, but the fact that in this pendragon's outrage she'd gotten as close to a bullseye as any of the students who were all trying so studiously.

She grins at the young adult and winks, "I think I'll supoena you to testify in my 'frustration is the best teacher' argument!" she shakes her head, looking off into space and talking mostly to herself, "For some reason, that's a very popular argument.."

Looking back to her quartet of students she grins anew, "I'm not sure if you caught her technique, even though by now the result is quite clear, she threw multiple blades in my personal favorite way - all in one paw."

She leans forward and grabs three knives, setting the butt of the handles between her four main fingers, her thumb crossing her palm, and enclosing her bent fingers behind it.

Holding her paw up, and rotating between showing the back of her hand and palm facing forward, she explains, "As I touched on, depending on where you stand from the target is whether you'll hold it handle or blade side first. Be careful if it's blade side, please, having the healer rush in wouldn't be good." she winks.

"Then, you just throw them straight. Slashing vertically or horizontally, it doesn't matter. You just need to be aware of when you let go! If you let go too soon or too late, you'll land above, below, or to the right and left of your desired target."

She looks to Okkie and grins, "Go ahead and try again, please?" Then turning to the others, she delivers yet another giddy grin, "And you all go on and try for the first time!" Aggro's intention was not to put 'Kie on the spot, which was why she had requested the others try their own hand at it, but she did want to encourage the young adult to continue, even if she missed this time. She doubted that the caramel 'dragoness would miss completely; having done it once, body memory would help her aim on the subsequent throws.

  8. Kiku carefully listened to Aggro's advice; once she had finished, he grinned and nodded his earnest gratitude, "Thank you for the help." Keeping her instructions running repeatedly through his focused thoughts, he visually sized up the nearest target. He would try both methods to see which suited him more, of course, but he decided to attempt rotating the blade over the handle first. He picked up a knife in his left paw, drew it back, and with the suggested downward flick of his wrist, threw it. He was pleased to see that it at least struck the target and stayed there, even if it had failed to embed itself in the perfect center. Feeling a rush of optimism course through his veins, he picked another knife up and tried the other method. With this technique applied, it only managed to graze the outer layer of the target, eventually falling to the ground, defeated. I think I like the first method better; even so, I should probably continue to practice both. Being careful not to throw when others were retrieving and making sure not to gather his own selection when his fellow students were taking aim, he continued to practice, gradually improving each time and always adjusting to try new positions and distances in regard to the target.

With the prospect of throwing multiple knives introduced, however, Kiku looked hesitantly at his freshly retrieved selection of knives. That previous surge of optimism quickly managed to ebb away at his wariness, and the star-spangled male carefully selected three of the weapons in his left paw. He was particularly careful with his aim this time; he considered his distance and angle for quite a few minutes before sending the trio flying toward the target. He was pleased to find that they all managed to hit their mark, even if not perfectly. Within moments, he had retrieved them and was making more attempts with multiple knives, once again getting better with each carefully calculated throw.

  9. Lyra watched as Okkie got her four knives in the center of the target. She grinned to herself at Aggro reaction. It was a good shot, better then the few singles Lyra had already thrown. Before going to retrieve her knives she listen closely to Aggro further instructions.

She took into thought the different ways to try then rushed over to the target the get back her knives. When she got back to her throwing station she gripped in knives in one of her paws. She had never tried throwing more then on at a time so she gripped them by the handle and not the blade for her first few tries. Not wanted her mistakes to cause Aggro to get a bad name as a teacher. She never really like doctors any way.

She pulled her arm back and threw with a horizontal angle. She watch them fly towards her target. She smiled as one of the knives hit the center. Even thought the other was on the third row out. She guessed that if she could get one this way in the center that she could get another by throwing it signally.

She threw one then the other. The first also hitting center as the next one ways the row out. She was glad to now have hit the center. She made sure no one was throwing and went to get her knives.

  10. Still vexed and unaware of her surprising success, Okkie kept her ice-chip gaze on the ground. She began to scrape her feet on the turf, mumbling under her breath about how imperfect she was. Luckily, she was quiet in her mutterings, and the storm outside had reached a fever pitch, further drowning her out. In fact, as lightning blazed through the sky, forking in radiant trails beyond the dome of the Tsupeon, the roiling thunderclaps almost blotted out Aggression's voice. But not quite, and 'Kie finally looked up as the teacher spoke. The "huh?" look on her face quite prominent.

"What?" was the teenager's response to the joke about testifying. For a moment, she mulled over how insane Aggression was. Then the earthen-toned femme went on to describe exactly what Okkie had accomplished, and two cerulean eyes slid slyly to peer at her target. They widened when she saw the group of knives, nearly perfectly placed, deeply set into the bullseye. "Oh... I. Ohhh. How the hell did I do that?"

An astonished expression crept over her face, and 'Kiebean continued to stare at the target. Her jaw went slack, and only after a few minutes of awed gazing did the she-pendragon turn back to the group. In wake of her amazement, she'd missed everything the pedagogue had said, but that was all right. After all, if she could do it once, she could do it again.

Hence, without any more spellbound gazing and such, the winged youth leapt towards her target, collected her knives, and romped back to her position, totally eager to try again! Her anger had dissolved by now, but XII tried to drag it back, so that the same energies could fuel her tertiary toss. It didn't take much concentration before Okkie felt pricks of her rage returning, and she lined up before her target. Every muscle was tuned in to this throw, and the female simply radiated intensity. She drew back her arm, rotated her wrist, and then lunged her appendage forward as fiercely as she possibly could. This time, the knives only hit the second innermost circle, but it was still a victory! She laughed aloud at her triumph, eyes shining.

All it took, apparently, was a lot of anger and a lot of elbow grease.

  11. Sirius listened carefully to Aggrao's instructions, and then decided to give it a try hersel. The others had all done so, and now there was only herself left. She took hold of the blades, deciding thy felt best with the butt of the blade in her palm.

She was nervous about this, she could feel it and she knew that nervousness would affect one's throw. So she took a deep breath, willing away that nervousness to the realm of her mind she often banshed dark thoughts to. Once there her hand steadied, and she knew she was ready.

She eyes the target and released as hard as she could, but noted that in throwing so hard it had made her aim a bit off, so the knives landed on the edge of the center ring instead. "I shall have to fix that," she told herslelf. "But definitly not bad at all...'
