“Thank you" She said as she went and took the ruler from him. She went and put it in the water being careful not to get water on herself. Ya it was around 2.5-3 feet and would probably get deeper. She then went to measure how long the wood was. They were around all pretty different in size but big enough to sick out of the water if she got it to the bottem. She was thinking of sticking some into the bottom of the river and building her way across. But she had another question, she always liked to get her facts straight. “Are we aloud to use other things we find around the ground to help us?" She asked still sitting there looking at the river. OOC: just one thing, your not suppose to know her name as Maylina but thats okay
She nodded, slowely placing the plank on the ground. 'Good good' She grinned, sitting down watching the river for a little while. Getting slight bit curious she turned to see what Kealer was doing.
Nasul nodded at Kealer, Yes, you may use whatever you find around you, as long as it isn't another 'dragon! He grinned to himself.
o o c:- Ee, sorry Ill edit it out. B i c: Trin picked up her plank, the wood had dried and she was sure it was ready. 'When do we get to try our things out?' She asked grinning broadly, though doubting if it would work or not.
Maylina let out a very small laugh, but it was indeed a laugh, it had been a long time since she had laughed. It felt pretty good, but knew she had to get back to work. She knew that she would have a hard time getting the board to stay under water so she looked around for some big enough rocks so they would stay at the bottom. She found some beside the river and took them up to the planks she had chosen. She tied the rocks to the end of the plank and nailed another on top so it looked like a big “T". She made sure that it was secure before lowering the bottom of the “T" down in to the water. The rocks were heavy enough to keep it stable in the current she then put another rock at her end of the “T" so that it would stay on the ground. She then went back to look for another plank.
Trin had another brainwave, picking up a saw she sawed the end of the plank into a sharp point. Picking up her plank, she walked to the riverbed, she then rammed it deep into the muddy bottom. She pushed against it and it felt stable enough. She looked over at Nasul, ready to go when he said she could. 'Shall I start?'
Maylina then mad another “T" shape and walk slowly out on her plank. When she got to the end of the first “T" she lowered the new one and nailed it together. She wasn’t at the end yet so she went back to make one more. OOC: sorry got to go for the night.
Nasul nodded at Trin. You may start He looked at the others who havn't start yet. he purrs. OOC: Kay! Have a nice sleep! ^^
\\ OOC: boy, you people get started and boosh! Goooone! XD Since everybody's pretty much started, and I'm not creative enough to think up two ways to get across a river right now, I'm not gonna have Nebai in the class. Nobody's fault but my own for not paying attention. ^^; btw, how wide and fast is the river? Since it's only 2-3 ft deep, I'm assuming not that wide (15ft) nor fast? Correct me! LOL! ^^ \\ IC Anezka had been listening intently to his instructions and watched the others with their make-shift bridges. She slowly steps over, examining a piece of wood he had around with him. Then realizing something, turns 'round and goes back to the pile grabbing a set of nails and a hammer with her wing claws, and some wood with her front arms and teeth. The wood is chucked over into another pile near the river she creates for herself, not too far away from everyone else, but enough away she can work without getting in anyone's way. As Anezka works on her 'secret' project to get across the river, Elethea watches the goings on contently, allowing Nasul to teach without being distracted by her voice. She'd taken him up on his offer to stick around a little while, until duty or piling paperwork called. When he was also resting, and awaiting his students' success or failure, she'd be most delighted to continue their conversation - she just felt that now would be rude to pull his attention away from questioning students, and ones willing to learn, at that! Meanwhile, the small bodied yet large winged child works industriously, hammering pieces of wood together in rather straight horizontal rows, with a vertical slat across the rows every now and again.
She touched the plank again; just to make sure it was sturdy. She nodded quietly to herself, walking towards a pine tree, which was about 20 meters away. She took a deep breath, running her plan through her head for one last time. She bent down, and after exhaling briefly she started to sprint, speeding up, reaching the river bed she leaped onto the plank, climbing up towards the top as the plank started to fall. As she reached the top she waited for the plank to almost reach the water, then she leaped onto the riverbank on the other side. She sighed, her legs slightly hurting from the impact, she barely made it, but atleast she did.
Maylina took a quick glance back at Trin and saw her jump over the river, it was a good idea she tough. She finish her last “T" and took it across her other two before her. She lowered it down slowly, not wanting to make a mistake now. She nailed it all together and put a rock on the end to keep it there then walked across. When she got to the other side she took a seat and watched the others work their way across.
Trin slowly turned around, her leg throbbing, she was sure nothing was wrong but it still hurt. She stood up leaning against a tree trunk, looking at what Kealer was up too. She watched her place her contraption in the water, she wasent quite sure what it was, she watched intently. She grinned as Kealer made her way across. 'Congrats'
Anezka continues working, building a rather flat object. Somehwere in the range of three feet by five feet long. It looked like a raft. In all actuality, that's what it was! Now finished, the child shoves the raft off the bank and into the water, leaping onto it as it starts to float downriver. Now, seeing as she had no spare paws, she couldn't use an oar, so she didn't build one. But, she did have wings. Now, she could have just flown across the river, but, this was an inventing class. Not a use the obvious class. And if her wings were broken, she wouldn't be able to fly, anyway. Unleashing her claws on all four paws deep into the raft's wood, the mouse-brown child hangs on. Not because she wanted to fall, but for what she was going to do next. Unfurling her massive wings the next instant, she powers herself forward, just enough to go across the river, not enough to lift the raft out of the water. (Which, her wingspan was massive enough, in her gangly period, that she could have easily done so! ) Meeting the other side of the river, this time, she does take fight, clinging to the raft with her claws, lifting it a foot off the water and onto the bank, where she drops it rather unceremoniously. Retracting her claws, she spins around, grinning foolishly to her teacher, and fellow students, who had gotten there prior to herself. Her whole aura read happy accomplishment - no sign of arrogance or pride. During Anezka's crossing, Elethea notices one of the students appearing to be in pain. Well, rather, an emotion of pain flows to her senses before she can do anything to stop them. Being empathic will do that. She had no desire to intrude on Nasul's authority, so she felt it best to ask first; {Nasul, one of your students appears hurt. Would you mind my seeing to her?} the follow up question, would of course, to ask the best place to cross this river, without contraptions, or wasting time in building something new. It was times like these she wished she had a set of wings, like the airborne pendragons did.
Trin sighed yawning slightly. She stretched her legs before walking to the riverbank; she was plotting on how to get back to the other side once again. Glancing to the sides of her she spotted a rather flimsy looking tree trunk that had fallen over the river. She grinned broadly, her pearly whites visible. Trin walked down towards the tree trunk at a leisurely pace, leaves crunching beneath her paws. Reaching the trunk she pressed her paw upon it, checking its stability before she hopped on it. She balanced herself, walking across the trunk, and the grin still upon her maw, that changed when she neared the bank and the trunk gave in under her. She hit the water with a splash, the icy cold water penetrating her fur almost immediately. Where she fell in wasnÂ’t deep and she had decent footing so she walked out, looking rather like a drowned rat. Â She looked around, hoping no one had seen what happened. She shook out her fur, and did a minor spell to quicken the drying process.
Nasul grinned, 'What very intelligent students I have here' When he heard Eletheas 'path, he said to her, Yes, you may pass, you might want to use Kealers way to cross thougj, so you don't get wet. He nods to her. He then says to his class, Very good job, all of you!
Trin padded up to Nasul, her paws still somewhat muddy, she grinned broadly. 'So, what do we do now?' She asked, wondering wether they will recieve grades, or something to that effect.
“Congratulation to you too." She nodded and turned to Trin and then also saw Anezka cross shortly after. She waited there to see if the teacher wanted them to go back to the other side or do something on this side. She saw Trin trying to cross so she just walked back across her bridge like thing. And took a seat once again. She gave her white wings a stretch knowing that if she did have to cross a river she could just use them, but things could always happen.
Shook herself one last time, her fur puffed up slightly, she hoped the next task wouldent be something to do with cold water. She looked around again, yawning once again, yawning was a bad habit of hers which she did when she was bored or dident have anything to do. She looked at the 'Dragons who had wings, she pouted, she wanted wings too, maybe she could invent some =D.
Elethea nods to Nasul's suggestion, and prepares to do as such, but the problem seemed fixed now, as the student in question makes her way back to their side of the river. She telepaths Trin anyway, just to be sure. {I do apologize for being slightly nosey, but I'd noticed your leg appeared injured. Does it still hurt? My major profession is that of a healer, so if you want any help, I'd be glad to give it.} Elethea was earnest in her desire to stay out of other's business, but also to be persistant enough to get them help, should they need it. A very fine line that she'd learn to walk rather well. Meanwhile, Anezka, amid the congratulations of her teacher, and student-to-student, takes to wing, abandoning her raft on the opposite side. She quickly glides to place on the other side, to sit opposite Elethea and Nasul, grinning proudly, awaiting her next orders.
Maylina also sat waiting as she looked around the courtyard. Still hoping that Lyra might show up but there wasn’t any one else there except for the rest of the class. They must all me in classes she tough. She would continue her searches later, now she would concentrate on her class it was turning out quit fun. She was happy that she wasn’t wet yet. She watch as Anezka flew back across the river after getting across and sitting in front of the teacher and the other older ‘dragon that was there.
