jayde had jumped back when incendi moved... but now she crept forward again... what can't she tell me?
Incendi continued to mumble. "Can't... tell... that..." her voice dropped lower.
Jayde sat down. She didn't want to get an closer, but she couldn't hear what incendi was saying anymore. She sighed softly and moved a bit closer. this is going to suck if this is a trick
Incendi mumbled, still soft, but when Jayde could hear it was too late. "can't tell Jayde that she's stepping on a trap... and that if she lifts her foot she'll blow us all to kingdom come..."
Jayde cursed, loudly. She knew. She knew she shouldn't have bothered. She let out a resigned sigh. "And can Jayde slide her foot away without setting it off," she asked through gritted teeth.
Incendi rolled to her feet and tagged her niece on the forehead. "Fraid not... you really should be less gullible." Of course there was no trap, but would her niece take her advice into heart?
Jayde closes her eyes. "Duh. So, if there really is a mine... how am i supposed to move without setting it off?"
Incendi shrugged, "How sohuld i know? i just set the things, i don't know anything else about them." a dead lie of course. everything Incendi knew how to make she could dissassemble easily.
Jayde frowned. "But, at the school... they always taught how to put it together and take it apart..." Jayde narrowed her eyes. She growled slightly and, taking the chance, pounced on Incendi.
Incendi was ready for her and ducked down low, hitting Jayde from under her hind legs to flip her over her head.
Jayde snarled and managed to turn so she landed on her feet, jarring her leg slightly. Ignoring the slight pain, she lunged for Incendi again, a slight smile starting to form. She'd always like sparring in class.
Incendi smirked and dodged easily out of the way. "Youre too slow child. you'll have to be faster if you want to be an assassin."
Jayde just smiled and raised her eyebrow. "Then, it must be pretty sad that I was the fastest in my class when I left." She lunged again, feinting right.
Incendi backed up this time, and spread claws ready to catch her if she continued towards her.
Jayde snarled and stopped for a second. She lunged forward again, going low instead of high, like before, her own claws ready, her dagger still tucked away.
Incendi snarled and jumped into the air, this time ready to land on her niece with fang and claw ready.
Incendi crashed down, and while not intent upon killing or maiming, she would make this a lesson to remember... painfully.
Jayde yelped and twisted around, slashing out at incendi, catching her aunt on the cheek.
Incendi snarled and jerked her head back as Jayd'es claws left their mark and she jumped off, crouched and waiting.
