It was at this point that Shark stepped forward, unsure of herself but determined to try. Truth be told; she didn't understand a word of Ramathian, but the fields in the forms that this important-looking pendragon held looked much like registration blanks to her. The niotie cleared her throat, but not in the attention-demanding way, and joined the rest of the students. She wasn't sure whether she should say something or simply wait in line; every piece of conversation was going right over her head. A dreadful thought occurred to her then: what if Ramathian was the base language in this place? She felt positively doomed. Feling quite self-concious, Shark mumbled, barely audible, "I would like a form, too, please..."
OOC: its fine with me if we just say theyve all registered... im going to have Yuin continue in "First Classes" so why dont any of you who also want to skip the tedious registration details meet up with Yuin there? or else stay here or go post in your own threads of course
Rioze blinked at yet another person entering. He wondered how much longer he had to wait. Hopefully not much longer or else this place would be jam-packed full of pendragons. At this thought his tail twitched irrately. His ears perked up when Yuin seemed to be finished. He, or another pendragon that was there was next. Then a female pendragon that seemed a few years younger than him spoke up. Oddly enough, she wasn't speaking Ramathian which most people who had knowledge of it would use it in this situation. Thoughtfully he deduced that she probably didn't know it and was fairly intimidated here. He let it slide and mind-spoke to her {Don't be so worried. Do you know any Ramathian?} He wouldn't take a chance on assuming that she didn't know any. If she did he would feel stupid, and she insulted. OOC: Nah, I think I'll just finish a bit here and maybe start my own thread or join yours.
ooc// ditto. ic//shark jumped slightly at the sudden message, then quickly collected herself, a bit embarassed. why, the last time she had been this awkward was.. well, never. however, having practiced with her mother often in her childhood, the niotie had a decent grasp of how to focus transmitting her mind. at ths point, she could almost do it as well as she could converse. {Worried? Me? Naww...} In the rare moments when she was shy, Shark tended to retain her outgoing personality through telepathy... she wasn't sure why. {I, uh.. no, well, not really. I'm here to learn it, though.. among other stuff.}
He was very tempted to roll his eyes at the younger one's bravado. Almost anybody would be nervous to register for classes at Janardan. Still...talking to her helped alleviate his boredom. Who knows, if fate would have it he might even be teaching her. {Mmhmm...Ramathian isn't too complicated. Not everybody speaks it either. In most casual-type conversations 'dragons will speak like right now. Mind telling me your name by the way?} Rioze suddenly noticed something. Although he regularly looked handsome in his gray coat, there was a bit of dirt and grime on his fur. Sighing to himself, he started grooming. It was best to start off with a favorable impression.
{Oh, of course. I'm Ryans, Shark Ryans.} The tone that her mindspeak had adopted for the introduction was similar to a James Bond style. Not too surpsing for a young, eager spy in training. She hoped it sounded ok. {That's a relief to hear... Though I would really like to know how to speak it. Say, is it hard to learn?} Shark wanted to ask his name as well, but didn't want to seem nosy, or otherwise desperate for conversation. She shared his opinion of first impressions.
[][][: Psst...don't tell me I have to act out as one of the secretaries! Pfft..if nobody posts anythingl ike that the next time I can reply I'm doin' it. BIC: A small smile graced his face at the introduction. It was similar to one of those characters in a play thing that humans enjoyed. Yet another one of those odd facts that he had picked up here and there. {Since I know your name I might as well tell mine. Rioze Kuroshiro at your service, poisoner extraordinaire.} The last part was said somewhat sarcastically. He observed his surroundings and wondered about certain things. Always like that, Rioze. As a cub he had always liked to ask the 'What if' and 'Why' questions. Too bad that the days of careless abandon and disregard for others' opinions were over. {It's not especially hard to learn it. It's rather like switching the letters in the alphabet. Hm..} Abstractly he rummaged around his pack. Aha! He handed Ryans a piece of parchment. {Here's a quick translation. Quite simple once you get used to it.}
ooc// meh, i would, but i don't know anything abou anything. ^^; ic// Shark, so surprised by this act of kindness, uttered a "Wow!" outloud before accepting the gift. Scanning over it, one could almost see the weight being lifted off her shoulders. {Hey, not too complicated! Thanks a lot... Rioze. I'll be sure to study it carefully. So.. yeah... er...} She paused here, eyes darting over the parchment as she picked up the letters needed and pieced them together in her mind. {...Shumct.... hee, it has a nice ring.} But her grin was broken as something registered in her mind. {Poisons! Wow! I bet you know all sorts of cool stuff... Like how to make someone break out in funny green lumps just by sprinkling a little powder in their soup. Awesome, dude.}
()()(: Poor me then...*takes over a secretary* Bad Spec. Loong post... Rioze eyed the room in case anyone had noticed Ryans's outcry. Thankfully nobody had noticed, he'd rather not have attention brought to them right then. {Like I said. Heck, maybe some teachers would be impressed if you used the Ramathian language. Most people don't know it until learning it from their parents or teachers.} At the outburst of him being a poisoner he raised his eyebrow. Most people recoiled in fear and suspicion he had noticed. In fact, the only pendragon he'd known that hadn't reacted badly without being an employer was a fellow poisoner. His mouth quirked slightly as he replied, {I suppose I could if I wanted to bother. Most people don't hire me for just revenge though. Usually it's a rather permanent solution.} The secretary(Finally!) noticed the duo and promptly asked them what they needed. Then she remembered what the younger one had asked, and quickly gave her a registration sheet. After Rioze told her what he was requested she just mumbled to herself rifling through the file cabinet. She finally pulled a folder out and gave him a schedule and went on to the next person in line. Rioze himself, nearly screeched in the unfairness. He was going to help teach Elemental Magic, Poisons, and Fighting/Defense. Resignedly he asked Ryans, {What're you going to sign up for?}
{A bunch of stuff...} she replied, scribbling eagerly across the paper in her scratchy, uneven print. {Aerobtaics, of course. I think I'll take Poisons too, as a side thing. Might come in handy. A little magic, a little concrete stuff...} She sighed, pausing briefly. The truth was that she was signing up for more classes than she would have otherwise tolerated, because of the simple fact that she had nowehere to go, and would probably be taking residence at the school anyways. Shark's gaze momentarily lifted off the paper to inspect the adult before her. {Are you a teacher?}
He rolled his eyes at Ryans's response. {Just don't bite off more than you can chew.} His tail flicked irritably, but he consoled himself with the fact that he still had a wee bit of time left before succumbing the schedule. Rioze tried to make sure to remind himself later to speak to the full-time teachers in the subjects. In a dry, raspy tone, {As a matter a fact I am. I can't say I'm exactly pleased, but that's just one of those things life throws at you. It makes me few young, considering I seem to be a scarce few years older than you.} Mentally slapping himself he checked his parchment again. Oh goodie..I'm staying on the grounds. At least it's in a teacher-type room. Hopefully he the more...ditzy and well off 'dragons wouldn't notice him.
{Wow, that's pretty cool.} She nodded, and turned back to her paper. Upon filling in the last line, she returned the form to the secretary with a smile, and glanced back to Rioze. {How old are you? Can't be that young, or else you wouldn't be a teacher, would you?} She cocked her head, looking at the moment even younger than she acted.
{Cool isn't exactly the word I had in mind..I would still prefer to have a bit of free reign but what can I do.} Suddenly noticing that they were still in the office, and had apparently nothing to do there anymore he asked, {Would you like to go somewhere else to chat? We might be holding up a line} As to the teacher questions...{Only 1700 years old I'm afraid. They'll take a teacher if they're a journeyman or master.) Rioze gaze a hacking cough. (I'm not even supposed to be a journeyman but whatever.}
[Well, I think that's awesome, that you got early ranking.} In response to his suggestion, she nodded, and backed off from the main desk. Continuing in an awed telepathic tone, she added, {It must be a real honor, especially in such a cool field. What kind of real-life experience have you had? Killed any community leaders?} At the thought, a wide grin spread across her shadowed features. Exciting, it was, being in the company of a dangerous indivdual.
OOC: Crap! It deleted my post. EVIL. BIC: {It's great to be ahead but it takes alot of boring paperwork. Ya gotta fill in this n' that and do all these tests just so you can take the Journeyman exam. Still, it's worth it to see the faces of 'dragons when they realize my rank and how old I am. Makes them think I'm dangerous enought they stay clear.} Nodding to himself slightly he lead Ryans to outside the building. It would be alot freer to talk outside then. He wondered to himself if there was a park nearby, probably so. He gaze a lopsided grin. {If I killed somebody like that I certainly wouldn't be telling you about it. Even though only a couple crafty people know a few of the ones of poisoned or had links to, it's enough to keep my mouth shut. Wouldn't want my hide tacked on the wall for the trophy would i? Sure it's an honor, but to most people I say Elemental Sorcery andkeep my mouth shut. Good enough for them}
She tailed him closely as they exited, practically beaming. It was by far one of the best days of her life- she had been enrolled in Ramath-lehi's most respected school, and had met a dangerous, and, after listening to his dialogue, apparently very secretive pendragon. {Ah, right,} she replied, with only the slightest trace of disappointment in her mindspeak. The niotie had perhaps wanted to hear a couple of stories of his assassinations. {So, are you like a hitman sort of thing for hire, or do you force people into dirt naps because of your own business?} What a lifestyle! One could only help but respect the older 'dragon. {When I get older, I wanna be like you,} she quipped cheerfully.
He rolled his eyes as he led the way to a pleasant walk-in path for a woodsy sort of place he vaguely recalled upon entering. Curiousity could be a motivative factor but one should know when to stop when they're delving too deep. Amused he replied to her inquiry, {It all depends I suppose. Most of the time I just supply the poisons but for a higher fee I'll do the dirty work myself. As for it being in my business...none of my customers know my real name.} His eyebrow quirked. {And shapeshift my appearance each time I meet with someone like that; wings, scars, colors and what have you are features I implement. Wouldn't want to be detectable. This form,} he gestured to himself, {is my natural one. I don't find the need to add other things like wings as some might. Only when it's necessary.} {I'm flattered that you think I'm admirable enough to be looked up to. It's nothing much though, just how I live by. How'd you come by Janardan anyway?} ()()C: Ya think we should start a new thread Lizzie? I mean..we're not exactly in the Registration office anymore :P
