"Light? Well...", he began, following her down the dark corridor. He stopped, eyeing his flame. It provided some light, but too little for the both of them. "Lonyt..." he murmured, hoping that little spell would help. His tail's flame instantly doubled in size. It was now bright enough for them to see the rest of the corridor. "Well, that should do. I just hope I don't burn anything." he said, smiling sheepishly. Including myself... He walked up to her, swaying his tail warily. "So? Where to now?" he asked.
Nylorac, now being able to see, now felt much better at heading down the seemingly long corridor. Her eyes shifting from side to side watchin for any mischief. I say, we explore! She had always loved to discover new things when she was young and even though she was not the bravest of all, she wanted to explore this place.
Explore indeed. Nub just hoped they wouldn't get in to too much trouble. "Have you seen these paintings? Looks as though they're telling a story." he said, squinting to have a better look at them. Drawings of 'dragons, kings... Studying one carefully, he tried to figure out what it was about. "Look at this one, I think something terrible must have happened here, look..." He said indicating the leftmost drawing. It showed a 'dragon on a throne, "Probably a King", holding a sceptre in his paw, surrounded by what Nub decided must be his advisors. Judging by the worried look on their faces, something terrible must have arose. The next image showed 'dragons in armour, probably the king's guard, setting off for some unknown quest. Nub hadn't looked at the others yet, and waited for her new acquaitance to come see for herself. Perhaps she could make sense out of these where he could not. OOC: Feel free to invent the drawings...
Nylorac looked over at the pictures that Nub was indicating. Yes it seemed as though a king, worried about something, then armour, war the word crossed her mind. she studied the picture carefully moving on to the next, she mumbled as she moved slowly down the isle of pictures, pointing as she spoke. war, then... death of children, so many children... no survivors.... then the end.. the war ended in... pain... triumph, a group, the attackers likely, triumph, joy... no one left...darkness. this was all she could do to interpret the pictures after a picture of complete black that surrounded the city that must have been attacked, the other pics were faded and she could not read what they ment. I have heard of a terrible battle, long long ago. When the world was divided, evil and good. Evil seems to have won, according to these pictures... but I know that your good, that im good... how good these pictures be true? She no intention of speaking directly to Nub, though she did, she didn't mind for he might have an answer of some sort. As she went over the pictures again in her mind the stone floor began to move, slowly swaying side to side, dropped, it seemed, lower and lower, into complete dark.
The Ugykuligta... Then End of the World... Thought Nub suddenly. He too, thought he had heard of a 'terrible battle'... But how could it be? The story of the Ugykuligta was just a tale grandparents told their children to scare or entertain them, wasn't it? Yes, he vaguely remembered the story. A dark force of evil had descended on the people of Ramath... The young had been the first to go. The most powerful of sorcerers, though they had tried to draw the most energy from Fronima had not managed to counter the mysterious ill that seemed to attack all, rich, poor, old and young. There had been major panic, nobody knew where or why this was happening... Terrible times issued from this, people quick to blame scapegoats, others pushed into madness... Blinded by grief. Terrible, terrible times. Many had called it the Ugykuligta. The Apocalypse. Then they had come. Creatures of pure evil, killing, robbing and destroying all on their way... Yet, he now remembered, things had gotten better. A hero had emerged, had saved them all... If only he could remember how... "Have you ever heard of the Ugykuligta?" he asked suddenly, hoping she might help him bring the pieces of this complex puzzle together. He didn't know why but he felt as though he needed to find out, that his life depended on it. It was then that the floor began to move... Pancking slightly, Nub tried to spread his wings in time but it was too late... "What's going on?"
Nylorac, was silent while they dropped though her heart pounded deeply and she was afraid the other would hear. I have heard of that, but never have been able to remember the name. I'm not sure what is going on... but I don't like it...ouch! The ground came to a sudden hault and Nylorac was forced forward onto the ground. She fell on her arm and that caused her pain, but she would live. She stood and looked around, there was absulutly nothing around them, black halls shot out all around the small slab of rock the had moved, 4 tunnels, from the corners of the slab. I-I-I have heard that a hero rescued... the people from strange.... creatures, the hero... his name... She just couldn't place it... then it hit her and she was startled. Actually I think his name was... Nub. (if u dont like this Idea just tell... ill change it ok?) She wispered the words and now that she had said it she remembered the name in texts that she had written and new that she was right.
"His name was... Nub" ... His heart skipped a beat. He couldn't have heard that, how could it be? "It doen't mean anythinh, nothing at all. He shared your name, so what? It's not as if you were him or anything... Not some kind of... Re-incarnation. No, no. Calm down, it's just a... What do they call it? A coincidence, that's it, just a coincidence..." They came to a stop, and Nubajek had just the time to break his fall with his wings. His friend though, wasn't so lucky. Perhaps they could perform a little healing spell on it, if she wanted. Almost glad the fall had put an end to his thoughts, he looked at the various tunnels around them. Looking up, he only confirmed his fears. Nope, they weren't getting out the way they came. As he lifted his weight, standing up, he notice he had landed on something. A curious look in his eyes, he bent to retreive the object at his feet. He gently picked it up, studying it carefully. He couldn't believe his eyes. In his paws, he held a sceptre that look exactly like the one from the wall paintings. He had a feeling it was the same one. Maybe Nylorac would know what to do with it... But before he could speak, the sceptre began to glow of an eerie blue light, casting an azure beam onto the walls of one of the four tunnels. Everytime Nub tried to turn it in a different direction, it would revert back to the same postion, still indicating the 3rd tunnel on the right. "Errr... D'you suppose we should go this way?"
((OOC: SORRY I TOOK SO LONG!!)) IC: Nyclax swore as she stood looking up at Nub's confused face as he reached down at the object on the ground. When it started to glow she was confused as well. She stood going to stand by him studing the object. i have no idea what it is but I do think we should go that way... do you have any weapons, you know for protection? I have a dagger... but I'm no good with it... She pulled out the dagger from the belt around her waist, she showed it to Nub quickly before she began walking down the tunnel. It was dark and the walls were slimy and crumbling. she hoped the object Nub had would light the way or they would be terribly lost.
