Lets just seal the cave up, then. Del called upon his memory to find the words of the spell, Get inside! Del shouted, the cloud seeping closer. He commanded the stone to move, stretch, and change shape, sealing the door within two layers of stone and a layer of diamond, pressurized so that if the stone was breached, the monster would be blown off the cliff giving the 'dragons time to escape. Del passed out.
The Beast was smarter than Del knew, even through his transformation. It climbed above the cave, and started digging down. There was no way to escape now... If it breached the cave roof, the toxic cloud would be able to get inside, and they would be dead before The Beast could eat them. He dug faster, realising this and wanting a meal more than revenge...
BRi sat on the floor resting her tired wings. Xela rushed over to Del pulling him into a sitting position pulling out some water to splash over his maw which she did hoping to revive him for she could hear the scraping from the roof of the cave and knew what the beast was trying to do.
Thi, who for the majority of this time had been nothing but a burden to the others. Calling upon what little strength she had and whjat little magic she had learned from Del, she raised her paws to the celing and chanted somre words, allowing another wall of diamond to form. It began to form slowly and was not as strong as Del's, but, it would suffice. She smiled slightly as the Beast's claws tore through the rock and hit the diamond. She then, fell to her knees.
The Beast was quite annoyed with these pests now. they sealed themselves in, with no way for him to get inside. He jumped back to the center of the massive blighted area with giant leaps, helped by his tattered fluttering wings, And hunched over something it ripped from inside it's own chest. It fiddled with the thing, untill an eerie glow came from underneath The Beast's form, looking the same color of a blacklight. The glow spread, the few things left alive as a result of the poison now shrivelling up and dying from the dark light. The beast suddenly raised his right hand to the sky, displaying a glowing, blood covered, Black gem. It walked forward slowly, after sticking the gem into it's chest again, yet on the surface. The gem continued to give off the deadly glow, and the beast used the gems power to it's advantage. It sprung several hundred feet in the air, to land on the top of the diamond shield. It swung a few powerful punches at the shield, and grinned diabolically as it cracked. It vanished from view, and suddenly the defense Del had placed to cover the entrance shattered, along with the rest of the cave. They were thrown clear of the collapsing space, but unfortunately, the beast, who was planning to snare them on their way out, was trapped in the tons of rock and soil. It started to dig itself out, but it wouldn't be free for several minutes yet, giving the prey time to escape...
Bri and Xela rose up from the floor looking around as the cave collapsed paws covering their heads and DEl's to keep from the rocks damaging anything important. The minute Bri realized that the beast was covered under rocks she spoke out. This help us get Del up, we have to get out of here before the Beast frees himself. Xela caught on immediatly and helped pull Del to his feet though he was still unconcious while Bri helped Thi to her feet.
Thi gave a slight lopsided smile at Bri as she helped her up. She had tried, thats was the best she could do with what little energy and magical knowledge was stored inside her body. She hobbled over to Del and placed one paw on him. it glew a tiny bit as Thi's head collapsed on his chest and she began breathing heavily.
The Beast was almost free. He resorted to struggling, but that was slow and tiring, and he went to work with his mammoth claws, and even his teeth. He finally got himself free, and looked around frantically for them. But, during the cave's collapse, several sharp piece of rock flew into his large eyes, blinding him until he could regain the dark energy needed to heal himself. For now he would have to rely on his nose...
Xela groaned inwardly, neither one Del nor Thi seemed to be of much help at the moment. She dragged DEl beside her trying to think, desperate at trying to get away. Bri thought as well though she was set on starring at the magnifcent claws of the beast as they scratched despairingly at the rocks. Xela sighed she had no idea how long she and Bri could keep these two safe before they themselves went unconcious. She put Del down and signaled for Bri to bo the same with Thi. Xela mumbled a few words and then a two small purple and black bubble were suddenly encirculing the 'invalids'. At Xela's command the bubble slowly rose carrying the two 'dragons as well. Xela smirked grimly, only slightly satisfied with her work. Bri was busy looking into Del, trying desperately to wake him. Xela realized Bri's attempts and called out. Don't wake him, sudden movement can cause the shield's to collapse. The 'shields' would protect only slightly from the giant claws of the beast, but for now they would have to do. Bri and Xela, as though thinking as one both opened their wings and began to rise up, Bri stayed underneath the bubbles in case Del or Thi moved to much while Xela slowly moved higher and higher in deep consentration as she made the two bubbles follow. once in more open air the bubble were easier to control, thus moving much faster. Xela and Bri planned silently, merely nodding. When the beast followed Bri would have to keep the animal's attention until Xela kept Del and Thi moving. During this time, if One of the two moved too much they could easily come to their death.
Freedom... The Beast looked around, and found his prey missing. Where are you my delicious morsels? He asked himself and caught sight of the bubbles. He flapped his ripped up wings, yet got no lift from them, the air flowing through the tatters, and only succeeding in whooshing his poisonous dark energy around. He growled, and attempted to grow his wings, but failed, and began racing towards the highest tree in sight. I'll eat your hearts whole! he yelled at them as he started clawing his way up a massive tree, dripping saliva and larger pieces of dark energy to the round far below...
Bri knew what she needed to do, but to be honest she doubted it would work. She had to at least try. She caught sight of the beast and quickly urged Xela along though the femme didn't notice for her concentration was only for Del and Thi. Bri dove, her claws opened, spread ready for attack. AS she came close enough to the beast for an attack she raised her claws and began to scrape at the beast furiously. The only reason she did not merely fly away was that she reminded herself of her wings. They were very large and strong and she could get away from the beast easily once he began to fight back...if he did.
The Beast growled. His face didn't bother him to much, as the gouts of blood ran down his body to fall to the ground far below. Dark energy suffocated the air from his wounds, but there was not enough left to heal them. Pest... He grinned his beastal grin and closed a clawed hand with lightning around Bri, and began to squeeze. He would make sure to catch the eyeballs in his mouth when they popped out...
Thi stood shakily at Bri's pain. Her wings unfurled as she stepped to the edge of the clif. She began to radiate light energy as she remembered what had happened to Xavier before. What she had done for him. She thrust it at the Beast as she screamed and took flight straight for him. Lightning appeared where the Dark and Light energy touched as her face seemed determined and she hit the Beast head on, the light energy trying to seep into him through his wounds and mouth and eyes.
Del stirred, silently waking from his nightmares, and in a flash, he kicked through the shield and landed with a soft crunch sound. What the...? Del said, running to thi's side, pouring all the energy he could muster into thi's spell, Ri sha dypt, shaja ra my amp sy sha gyfaj e hylp, mai thull E ra pavausap ri shyta fhy fyolp py ell fesh shaej humpt ump kluft, he muttered,
The Beast shrieked, and dropped Bri to the ground as he fell to the ground with a thud and began writhing in pain. His wings ripped and fell off in a spray of blood and dark energy, and his left arm began to shrink, as well as his back row of fangs. He wouldn't let these weak being stop him! He wouldn't! I.....WILL....KILL YOU ALL! He screamed and stood up, releasing a overwhelming ammount of dark energy; his only dark energy remaining. It choked the plantlife, killing them instantly, and with a dull noise, Xavier, naked save his pants, his wounds bleeding heavily, and the last of the dark energy drifting from his smoking body. He looked dead, as the purple haze lifted into the night sky to cover the full moon, which glowed an eerie blood red...
Morichai stared over to the now withered woods. "whats happening?!" she gasped during which time the moon covered with a blood red haze "oh my god..." Instantly she remembered the old tales of the beast she had over heard on the mainland, "its real" she thought to herself as a blood curdling shriek filled her ears, her eyes closing in pain. " agh... damn frequency" breathed morichai, "the 'dragons" she exclaimed remembering the flashes of light from before," i must help them!" morichai jumped, beating her wings down from the water she had been gliding across gaining height so she could spot the others "those poor, poor 'dragons" morichai whispered, her voice full of emotion, morichai did not know if the 'dragons were still alive.
Xavier was left, ripped up anjd horribly bleeding, in the middle of several piles of clumped up toxic energy. He moaned once or twice, then failed to move again. His heart rate dropped to a deathly low level, but the spirit kept him alive. What would happen next depended on those nearby...
Del walked Shakily over to Thi, Looks like you saved the day, Del said, But how did you know how to beat it? Del said, Wrapping an arm about the small of her back. Its finally over. Del Said, he smiled, then sat slowly onto the hard ground.
Bri pushed her way past the beast gasping for breath and slowly landing on the ground next to Del and Thi glad that she could finally say it was over. Xela slowly flew down, tired from making the bubbles. Xela refused to show weakness, or at least too much of it and made her flight seem more energetic as she dropped onto the soft ground laying on her back next to the rest of the group. I'm Bri by the way... Bri wanted to start some sort of conversation that might calm everyone down.
Thi shook off Del's arm, not that she didn't enjoy it. Only that, Xavier, was still in trouble. She hurried to Xavier's side and knelt down next to him. She touched his chest slightly and allowed light energy to ratiate into him from only her palm. It sealed the spirit inside of him into a light cage in an attempt to keep it in there, if not forever, then for at least, a while. Thi then stood and turned to the others. He xhausted body being held up only with adrenaline. He needs a healer she panted slightly. None of the others could now see Xavier as a 'dragon again.
