Xela looked at the poor 'dragon on the ground and bent down to help her up. she looked over at del wondering if the injured 'dragon and him were together for she had risked her life to save him... She slowly moved towards the ridge wondering if the beast would really attack them again. For if he did she doubted that anyone would be able to hold off the beast from finishing off the already almost dead 'dragon. Do you know her?
Here I come... Ready... Or Not... The beast turned and sniffed the air, quickly latching on to their scent. He howled to the full moon hanging in the sky above him and galloped off into the thick forest, heading straight for them, spittle and foam flying from his fangs and crackling and melting anything it landed on...
Xela realized that to make it past the ridge they needed a distraction. Can you hold her? You go on ahead, I can shapehift into an eagle or something later so I'll catch up to you, I'll run around the clearing we were just in, that should give you enough time to make it up there... Xela didn't really wait for an answer and raced towards the tree hoping that this would work. Usually she wouldn't have done this but she felt guilty for all of this happening so she knew that her conciense would never cease to bother her unless she put herself to the test. As she ran she shapeshifted into a slightly smaller faster creature. She wasn't sure if her plan would work... but what else did they have? The beast wasn't as stuupid as it looked... it could easily figure it out. But Xela had to hope that the thing didn't.
Del stared blankly at the blue female talking a mile a muinite, listening, but not really hearing, his eyes locked on Thi all the while, Lets go, we don't need any distractions, its dangerous, Del lifted Thi gently into his arms, It's pretty stupid to try something like that, Thanks. Lets go, Thi. Del spread his wings and flew silently into the night, care for his best friend speeding him, He landed atop a mountain several muinites later, and Laid Thi out under a warm blanket, Thi, are you awake?
Xavier, or the beast that was now in control, ignored the small distraction, heading straight for the wounded one. He liked to eat the easiest kill first, and he soon caught sight of two pendragons on a mountaintop. He stalked towards them, somehow staying all but invisible despite his size. He got close, and then sprung into a lightning fast strike. Found You! He shouted, trying to bat away Del so he could lock his jaws around Thi...
Xela growled but said nothing and helped hold This as they continued over the ledge. She looked back when she heard the beast coming up right behind them He'll go after her first...what should we do? She was becoming nervous. they couldn't out run the beast and she didn't think that they could stay and fight...especially with a seriously wounded 'dragon with them...
Kalatsa padded through the undergrowth towards the commotion. She had been staying on the inside of an old hollowed out tree when she heard everything. She poked her head out over a branch surveying the scene. The femme leaped out of the tree, wing opening and beating the air to get above the trees. Should I help or just watch? She looked down again, her eyes scanning over the area again. Well, you are supposed to be good now, are you not? But I don't want to be good... but I have to... damn it! She dove down towards the others, staying to their left. "Do you need help?" she asked, looking at Thi and the others holding her up.
Thi wearily opened her eyes, she could feel cold sno 'neath her and a warn blanket atop her. The first thing she had heard were Del's calling her stupid. Dell! she responded You owe me big time! she gasped jokingly. The ground thundered as the mutant Xavier struck. Thi watched, helpless as Xavier tried to dispose of her.
The beast gave a triumphant roar, and latched onto Thi's waist with his huge clawed hand. He raised her up in the air, her form in front of the full moon. The beast had ignored it untill now, but now it's glare caught him full in the face and he dropped Thi to sway under it's influence. His eyes narrowed to slits, and his muscles expanded and contracted, getting bulkier and ripping and tearing the flesh to make way for new ones. The Beast ignored his rippling body, growing muscles and tearing flesh. Dead skin fell to the ground in coats and new skin soon healed over and then repeated the proccess. The Beast kept staring at the moon... And ignored his prey... For now...
Xela looked over at the new 'dragon Yeah we probably could. Del, lets get her out of here now! Xela was getting worried about the beast thing more and more as she watched his muscles grow thicker andhis skin peel off and grow back at rapid speed. what was this thing?
She flew closer to the two, temorarily stoping them from beating to just glide along. "Whats the plan?" She questioned, looking between the two then at the beast quickly transforming obviousely a much more menacing beast.
The Beast shuddered and whipped around suddenly, to stare at them with pupiless eyes... It didn't roar now, but slowly stared stalking forward, and Xavier's titanium claws were mere pins embedded in it's paws, next to huge new ones that had grown almost magically beside them. The Beast had also grown fangs protruding from it's lower jaw, and it's fur, recently grown, was matted with clotting blood, from it's recent transformation. The Beast had lost all thought, all reason... Now it just wanted to feed...
Get going, i'll slow it down, Del said, Theres a pretty good chance this will kill me, but it'd all be worth it, in the end. Del stood before the approaching monster, staff in hand, staring it straight in the eye, Bring it on, Del muttered to himself, Bravery is Hell He thought, Move it, ladies,
Xela looked over at the newcomer and growled struggling a little to hold up Thi in the air I could use a little help! she pushed Thi into the other 'dragon so that they were both holding her and started flying away, looking back at Del and the beast nervously.
The Beast didn't roar, but raised an arm to strike. He brought it down with a giant force, but stopped three inches from Del's face. Before he could realise what was going on, the beast slammed Del to the side with his other forearm, and proceeded to follow up by stomping slowly towards him, and opening his jaw to let out his loudest roar yet, showing three new rows of teeth behind the huge lower canines. It kept roaring, and the roar raised in pitch and frequency, untill it started to hurt the ears of every creature within a mile...
Thi managed to drudge up the last of her strength to yell DEL! before the mutated Xavier's huge forearm toppled him. she struggled to get away from those trying to help her.
THI!! You can't afford to move let us help you..Del will be ok dont worry. though her voice sounded steady she was very worried.
Being knocked down is something most people couldn't survive, but Del stood up, his head bleeding severely on the left side, he leveled his right hand, and let fly a cone of fire that could melt steel instantly. He didn't move, he didn't blink, the spells aftershock taking hold,
She grabbed hold of Thi tightly, beating the air a little harder to sustain the others weight as well as her own. She looked back down at Del and the monster. She winced slightly at the roar's pitch. Ignore it Kalatsa! Ignore it. Your stronger than that damn it! Come on!! Fill your head with other things.... She took in a deep breath, closing her eyes for a brief second, then opening them again to look around for a safe haven.
We need to get Thi somewhere safe and maybe help Del if her really needs it. Xela was starting to get very nervous, it wasn't only her afety that she was worrying about it was all the other people who would have to survive this beast or else.
