Veajka finished with cleaning the harvok, and ran a spit stick through the animal, getting it ready for roasting. "Well, I never expect any guests, so that should not be an issue. Most of the materials we use, we buy from the capital city mining exchange. They ususally produce a fairly good quality steel." He removed a small rack full of little tin boxes with lids that had symbols ingraved upon them. He removed one and removed it's lid, then shook out a light dusting of white powder one the harvok, and rolled it over.
"Do you adventure around here? I mean considering the size of this forest, you must have done some exploring around here." The meat looked good already. Bet it would taste and look better cooked. Thamier's stomach rumbled, causing him to be embaressed for a second until he realized that it was too quiet for even Veajka to hear.
"Oh yes.", Veajka replied, "As I said, to the best of my knowledge, at least half of this entire forest is completely unexplored at all. I also know that far west of here, in the very heart of this forest is a ruined city, that's said to have been the home of ancient dragons, our ancestors. I've not been there myself, but it is rumored to be full of haunts and treasures, but no one who has gone before has ever returned. You may also want to stay away from the cave to the south. There lives a very old sorcerer who musta' been in a bad mood for too long." Veajka placed the well seasoned harvok on the hearth rack, by its spit, and turned it slowly over the open fire. He stopped occasionally to baste the harvoc in some sort of liquid as he turned it. The harvok began to emit an aroma that made the mouth water and stomach rumble, for it smelled so good.
The harvok was browning nicely and the aroma was unbelievably good. Veajka continued turning it and said, "Well, my father said to me, 'It's a big waste of time, for there is no gain in the journey.' My mother, being the hardened warrior that she is, has been there and she said the place was nearly impossible to find, and absolutely deadly if adventured alone. I would never attempt it myself, but maybe we could make the journey together. I have all the armor and weopons we could possibly need, and I have a map to the place, that my mother made. Perhaps you should stay the night here, and then We can leave in the morning..." By the smell, it would not be long before the Herb Roasted Harvok was done, and they could eat...
"I wouldn't mind staying. I have nothing pressing to do." Thamier's stomach grumbled again, as he smelled the heavenly smell coming off the harvok.
