Another soft laugh escaped Di as she saw how Aed looked and seemed to nag and lecture Zem. But her laugh stopped and she sat up, her legs crossed indian style, and she put her hands on her knees, a smile crossing her face. "That's it? Heh...you sound so nervous about saying it. It's nothing to feel embarrassed about. I think you're nice too, once you get past the whole sneaking up and scaring the shit out of me part." Diana laughed and just grinned towards Zem. She was happy, not a usual happy she had. But an actual happy. She had another friend besides Tsuki. "Tell me something about you. Anything...I'm curious. Then I'll tell you something about me. Hmm....ok. What is your favorite color?" Di smiled softly and cocked her head to the side, her rusty hair flowing across her shoulders.
Zemenia gave vent to a half-hearted chuckle at Di's joke - or at least what seemed like what most of the students here called 'jokes' - but it soon died away to nothing, her nervosity getting the best of her as she began shuffling her feet restlessly. She didn't like the way she always tried to avoid questions, or else ended up babbling or stumbling on her words, as if she was embarrassed. She wasn't, really. It was just that... most questions needed answers that she didn't especially enjoy giving out freely. However, she was slightly calmed by the fact that her supposed friend - since Di wasn't really getting all pissy at them anymore after all [but neither, for that matter, was half the school - they just ignored her] - returned the like she felt. It took a bit of the heavy weight of shame on her shoulders, even though she didn't know quite why it would be a bad thing to like it if the beige Anubi was there. She was... a friend, if you could call a friend someone who was nice to you but who you didn't know much yet. So it would be normal to feel all right next to her, no? Zem's hand reached up as it had many times before when she was starting to get edgy, but did not go all the way to her mouth for once, which meant she wouldn't be getting on with that stupid habit of hers for a while. Instead, she started picking at the auburn hairs of her neckruff, the other slender digit-ended hand following close behind it to help with the anxious braiding of multiple tawny fibers, and then twitching them away from each other to return the bits to their previous - though slightly more straggled - state. Aedil watched silently as her sister toyed with her ruff, knowing that it helped to calm her when she was able to do something with her hands, though miscolored gaze kept on glancing towards the beige Anubi now sitting nearby. Di didn't know it was just another habit of hers. She might think that Zem was trying to ignore her. And so, not wanting her big sister to be pushed away as a complete idiot by yet another person on Ramath-lehi, she discreetly grabbed the hem of the streaked thill's dark green pants and gave it a good yank. Zem immediately came to attention, the question now ringing through the air flooding into her mind and numbing her thoughts for a few seconds. Another question? Oh no. Oh dear no. But then the revelation of everything Di had told her hit her mind, and she began to relax. She could ask questions, too. That was a good thing. Yes. Favorite color.... favorite color, favorite color... it's red, isn't it? She glanced down at herself for a moment, thinking that this choice of hue was not really obvious by the way she dressed or looked. Dark gray fur streaked with dusty yellow and earthy brown, an ebony-toned shirt with a white cross-eyed smiley imprinted on its surface, and a pair of pants colored with the same chromes as the avocados of Earth. She let the flicker of an amused grin cross her maw before turning back to her companion, and letting a faint shrug shake her shoulders as she soon answered, most traces of the nervousness that had shaken her thoroughly before disappeared into one of the dark corners of her mind [which, to tell the least, there were many of]. "Would you believe red?" One eyebrow raised higher on Aedil's forehead. It wasn't all the time that her sister revealed her favorites, her likes and dislikes. But now was her turn to ask an inquiry. Aed wondered what it could be. "Anyway... what is... your favorite form? As in geometrical form. Circles, triangles, whatever. You can even choose loops if you want." A faint grin began spreading across the tiny pale gray niotie's face. She knew what her sibling was up to.
Di smiled and straightened her head. "My favorite color is black...as you can very well see. Hehe...hmm...geometrical form? Hmm...I would have to say either a cirlcle or a heart...if it counts as one." She laughed softly and ran a hand through her hair. "I'm pretty sure a heart isn't so it's a circle. Okay...what is your favorite....clothing item? Like a shirt, jeans, skirt, and such." She saw the tiny grin on the little ones maw and she cocked an eyebrow, looking down at her. She felt like something was happening that the little 'dragon knew but Di didn't. She held back the growl of agitation and stayed calm, she didn't want to seem rude or angry. OOC: Sorry that it's short...writing block. xP
OOC///Eh, s'all right. IC// So... a circle, or a sphere, and the color black. Perfect. I think I've got what I need in my pocket... one of my pockets, at least. Where the farg is my kit? The thill had begun fumbling inside the many pockets covering the sides of her dark green pants, spilling out the contents onto the dew-covered grass, not really caring what was coming into her hands at the moment. Marbles, a scribbled drawing on a scrap of paper, some kind of dried plant, three seeds growing roots inside a tiny jar filled with damp cotton, a shrivelled bit of dried meat, the crumbling remnants of a forgotten lunch, a number of miniature books stuffed to bursting inside a particularly large compartment, a crumpled tissue, a packet of red and blue pens, a foldable ruler, pencils and lead, a crudely made birthday card, five rubber bands, a bit of sole from an old [and probably discarded] sneaker, a strangely precise replica of Zemenia herself made with bits and bobs, mainly buttons, cloth and dried plants, that Aedil immediately snatched from the growing pile of random objects that the obvious pack-rat had stored inside her pants, the cap off of another pen, a kaleidoscope in the shape of a funnel, around six or seven highlighters of different neon colors, a braid of colored grass, a shard of pottery from some ancient work, or perhaps just a chunk of rock picked up in the blistering sands of the Pwa Desert, a clod of green and black earth obviously taken from the Manik Marsh in which a multitude of tiny plants were growing together, and finally what the tall 'dragon had been looking for all along as the prolonged silence settled between the group, Aed watching intently with the plush toy clamped inside her crushing grasp, and Di waiting for a response to her question... a rectangular box of different inks, and a sack that had probably once contained blood, but was now filled with a clear, reflecting liquid. Water. The pale gray niotie sitting quietly by her sister's side grinned hugely as the things were found, and began hopping in place, obviously excited by the concept of what her sister was going to do. This didn't happen often, and the tiny female always loved watching the event. Zem first sent a sheepish grin, plainly apologetic for the long wait, and immediately answered the question previously asked. "Clothing item? Well... pocketed pants, I suppose," she said, a slight laugh rumbling from her throat as she glanced sideways at the huge pile of possessions she had taken out of her pockets, and then looking down at the still bulging sides of her pants. Wow. What a pack-rat. The thill shrugged faintly, returning her gaze to the beige Anubi laying down before her sitting figure, and was soon setting her things out in front of her. An ink that looked as if it had been extirpated from the purest ebony was first deposited at her feet, then a jar she had retrieved from another pocket was whipped out, the transparent liquid contained inside the sack she had left inside her hand poured into the gobelet, which she then settled down beside the colorant. She cast a contented look on her 'kit', as she called it, before bending closer and starting to stare at the glass holding back the fluid she had placed between its walls as she muttered a last sentence in Di's direction. "Jus' a sec. I'll giva ya a question as soon as I finish this." She seemed to just be concentrating on the water at first, keeping a steady pale green gaze fixed upon the wavering light inside the container, and then slowly closed her eyes, almost as if she was asleep. But the flicker of a frown on her brow betrayed her awoken status, and a low background humming had begun resonating around the small group. Something was happening to the liquid. It seemed to be rippling, a faint lump forming in its middle, rising like the cascade of water does as a gigantic head clears the water. But nothing was beneath to push it upwards. The only presence was that strange, insistent humming, going on and on endlessly, vibrating across the ground, though it never went farther than two feet from the immobile thill sitting still in front of the container. The water, slowly, majestically, rose into the air. Zem's oculars flickered open, revealing the iris of her twin eyes, dulled by concentration. The liquid gathered together, swirling in a cycle of twirling fluid, levitating in front of the femme like an glowing orb of glass. Zem was quick to start her work. Picking up the vial of black ink, she let two drops of black colorant drop into the sphere. She plucked two thin blades of grass at her side, soon dipping them into the ink with a deft twist of her hand, and settled them around the sphere so that it looked slightly like a ball of swilring back and transparent liquid wrapped in ebony ribbons. Then she closed her eyes again, perspiration appearing on her brow as her concentration increased in volume. With a distinct shink, the sphere turned from liquid to solid. It hardened in a matter of a few seconds, dropping into the agile hand Zem had stretched out to receive the thing. The streaked femme lifted lids from eyes once more, a thin smile appearing on her maw as she saw the results of her work, and she rolled the ball in Di's direction, motioning towards it with the blunt end of her muzzle as she spoke again. "S'for you. I'm a cryokinetic. Just... a present, ya know?" she concluded lamely, blushing up to her eartips as she wrung her hands, wondering if her companion would appreciate the gesture. To occupy herself, she began forming the next question that would be directed towards the beige female at the same time as she carefully loaded her things back into her pockets. "So... what's your favorite plant?" I hope she likes that thing. Hard to make, but pretty simple. At least it won't melt. Heh... good thing I got preserving inks. The swirls will gradually grow into the whole sphere, but at least it won't disappear. I just wish I could find a way of keeping it like that without having it turn entirely black... it would be a nice addition.
Hakaras Jhuodraha had been walking through the covered pasageway when he looked out through the stone arches. As traditional, he carried his sketch book in his hands. When his eyes caught on Di, it dropped from his hands in an instant. Placing one paw on the edge of the arch and the other on the peice of wall, he blinked rapidly and stared at her. He had woken up late that morning, so his brown hair lay to the sides of his face, the red tips seeming to outline his cheeks. For a brief glimmer he wished she would look over and spot him, then he decided to take the matter into his own hands. He bent down and picked up his sketch book. Vaulting halfway over the wall, he settled himself there and quickly drew a pencil out from behind his ear. A quick sketch was all he did of her, but even his quick sketches were amazing. Everything about the sketch matched her, even the shadows. He jumped down off the wall and in one fluid movement born of practice, he tucked the pencil behind his ear and the sketch book open to the page of his drawing under his arm. He put on a slight smile and began to stride purposefully over to her. On campus, he was the biggest flirt, so it was unbeleivably to a few other girls passing by him that he was going after a new girl. He had been so absorbed in her, that he didn't notice a rock on the ground in front of him and he tripped. His sketch book went flying from his hands and skittered across the ground towards Di. His pack slung over his back containing his paints and other materials flew into the air as the contents spilled out. One of the paints opened and spilled orange paint all over him. His hair had fallen into his eyes and he just managed to lift his head enough to see that his sketch book had collided with Di's leg. With a resigned moan, he let his head fall back into the dirt. His ameythest eyes, shut tight, wishing he could dissapear. But, he was sure, that even if he did, she could foind him since his name was written in the book. ((Yess, I hate paragraphs))
OOC: I must say, that is just too cute and funny also. IC: Di took the now solid orb with the leave ribs and black innerds and stared at it, a smile spreading across her face. She looked towards Zem and grinned even more. "I love it! It's so beautiful, you're very talented." Di rolled the sphere in her paws and cocked her head to the side, thinking about the question. She opened her maw, about to answer, when she felt something hit her leg and a soft thump nearby and a moan that followed close by. Di's eyes removed from Zem and scanned down to her leg. She cocked an eyebrow and picked it up, the sketch book opening and her maw opened slightly more as her eyes went wide. There on the page was a rather good drawing of...of her! She couldn't believe it, she just wondered who had been watching her without her knowing. Her eyes once more scanned over and saw the 'dragon laying on the ground with orange paint covering some of him. She frowned softly and shook her head and giggled. She stood up and tucked the sketch book under her arm, letting it set softly against her beige fur. She walked towards the 'dragon and smiled, noticing that he wasn't just a 'dragon. But an Anubi. "Um...I think you may have dropped this. Do you need help up?" Di reached a hand down towards him and smiled softly, her amber eyes becoming a soft honey color in the sunlight. With a small giggle she looked back towards Zem, shrugging softly towards her and mouthed a few words towards her. 'Do you know him?'
Zemenia jumped in place as she heard the low thump of someone hitting the ground, and the flutter of pages flying through the air. Pale green gaze flickered from her previous occupation, sticking all of her stuff back into the pockets lining her pants, to the prostrate form of an arden not too far away, sprawled on the ground like a vulgar puppet. A rock sticking up only a few centimeters behind him explained the reason why he was doing this, and Zem's oculars switched position again, mind registering the compliment Di had given her. She blushed even more, gray coat gaining a faint crimson taint as her face turned red, hands immediately reaching towards each other instead of raising to her mouth so she could chew her claws. At least that old habit had gone away for now. Gaze returned to the male close by, one eyebrow cocked high as she watched what would happen next. She had noticed the notebook that Di had picked up, and also the seemingly surprised expression that had taken the female Anubi's face as she looked down at the page it had opened to, but hadn't yet taken a serious look over at the other one. He was an Anubi, just like Diana was, colored a deep purple. The tall streaked thill could discern black spots all over his fur, though they were hard to make out from the dark background they had been pasted on. A brown moehawk, its tips tainted crimson, spouted out of his scalp, falling over his closed eyes as he lay there seemingly in embarrassment. Two wings were hanging on to his back, a strange misture of feathers and leather. Nothing else, except for the orange paint splattered onto his entire form, could really be of any interest to the casual eye. Di was moving towards the male, notebook under her arm, and offered her help as she extended a hand. The streaked thill met her gaze, shrugging and shaking her head to show she'd never seen him in her stay at the Academy, and dumped the last of her things - three pencils and a handful of marbles - into a free pocket. This was turning out to be quite an interesting day. OOC//Just to make sure ya won't be worried, I'm going to be gone until somewhere around the end of August. Vacation in the mountains >_<
He looked up, noticed that it was Di that was standing over him, a slight blush crept across his face and he shook his head, jumping up quickly and brushing his hands angainst his legs, trying to save himself some dignity. He put on a light smile again, one that just barely curved his mouth into what most 'dragons considered his 'heartbreak' smile. It would have been fine except for the tiny drop of orange paint running down the side of his face. He sighed and let his smile dissapear. He accepted the notebook from Di. "Yeah, uhh, sorr it hit you." he said, blushing a bit again and scratching the back of his head. His hand came away covered in orange paint. But he had begun to become oblivious to this as he bent down to pick up some of his stuff and put it back into his bag.
OOC: Alrighty Shackle. See you in August then. ^^ Di smiled softly as he apologized and began to pick up his things. She was sort of saddened that the small smile that had been on his face had left and she smirked shook her head. "It's alright, but I did like the picture you drew of me." She spoke this softly and slowly, her voice ringing like a gentle breeze as she picked up a couple of his things and handed them to him, looking straight into his amethyst eyes with her own amber-honey orbs. She smiled and stood up straight, her hand resting on her hip as she had done many times that day. A trickle of sunlight hit her stomach, right above her belly button and seemed to make her pure black rose tattoo gleam with a hidden light.
He smiled again. It wasn't the heartbreak smile, but it was close enough. "Then, perhaps, we should start over." He looked at himself and laughed slighly. "Of course, it would be nice for me to clean up first." he chuckled. Two drops of paint had fallen onto the picture. He used wtaercolours most of the time and that allowed the driops to flare out in each direction. Since the drops had landed on either side of the Di sketch, when they flared out, they seemed to become a sunset.
Diana smiled and nodded softly, a giggle escaping her as she saw the soft sunset that had formed on the picture of herself as the two drops of orange paint fell onto the canvas. "Um...yea. That would be a good thing. Umm...here. Diana whirled around quickly and went over to her suitcase and popped open the metal locks on the sides and opened it completely. There was a simple assortment of items, two other pairs of clothes, a pair of pajamas, and other odd assortments. She quickly grabbed one of her t-shirts and smirked at the old dingy thing that her mother had packed. Ah screw her. I don't wear this thing anymore. "Here...you can use this. I don't wear it anymore, so it doesn't matter. But it should do for now." Diana smiled sweetly and handed him the plain white shirt. She couldn't help but notice his mohawk and smiled, she had quiet a thing for men with mohawks. It made them look so...different and wild. She loved it so much about them, though she wished his was up for now. But down was alright with her also. "Oh...where are my manners. My name's Di...Diana Morrigan. I prefer to be called Di, though you can call whatever you wish."
he smiled again, this time, bursting out the 'heartbreak' smile as he winked at her and graciously accepted the shirt. He wiped his hands first before he wiped off his chest and shoulders. It was a hot day out so he had decided not to wear a shirt that day, and now he was rather glad, also, he wore medium length shorts that he normally used when painting so they were already covered in paint. He began to rub the shirt over his hair and it began to spike up again back into a mohawk. He frowned slightly at it whishing he had it spiked up with gel and not paint. He held his hand out to her "I am Hakaras Jhuodraha. But, call me 'Ras. Everyone does." he was hoping she would take his hand so he could swing her towards him.
A massive blush crept across Di's beige cheeks as he smiled and winked at her. That smile...I wouldn't be suprised if he was taken. Heh...so sweet and so cute! Oh god....I'm losing it. I flirt with them, not swoon over them. Though I am sorta liking this. She giggled softly and her blush became even bigger and brighter as his mohawk stood up finally. She bit her lip nervously and took his hand as he held it out, noticing how firm and sort of strong his grip was. The blush finally crept towards her ears and her eyes looked down to the ground, though she forced them to look back up to him, straight into his eyes. She could barely believe that she was falling for a guy, she never fell for anyone in her whole life and here she was oggling a man she had just met. "It's nice to meet you 'Ras. Though it was an odd meeting."
As she gripped his hand, he smiled brighter and with a flick of his wrist, he twirled her closer. Now, He held her against his chest, his arm wrapped around her shoulders. "No my dear." he said in his 'sexy' voice. "The pleasure is all mine. Though, the meeting is strange indeed." He smiled down at her and noticed the blush that had crept across her face. He brought his face closer to hers, his eyes focused entirely on her eyes, almost daring her to break away from him.
Diana's eyes went wide and her blush crept down to cover some of her neck and she felt her heart pounding in her chest as she was pressed against his chest. As his face came down closer to her she felt her heart pound even more and she sudenlly snapped her head forward and nipped his lips and smiled, breaking away from him and smiled sweetly. She wasn't going to lose all control of herself. She cocked her head to the side and stared at him, her hip tilted slightly and she bit the edge of her bottom lip. "I like you...you got spunk." She smiled again, her eyes only looking at him as she blinked slowly and turned around and began to walk back towards Zemenia and Aed, a slow sway to her hips. She waited to see what he would do as she walked slowly back. She sudenlly stopped and looked back to him and winked. "How about you tell me something about you. And I'll tell you something in return." She turned around to face him again, both hands on her hips as she tilted her hip downwards to one side and watched him closely.
He chuckled slightly "You are quite interesting" he said to her. His chuckle turned into a full-hearted laugh as she spoke again. "Something about me. Hmm, well, my life is pretty uneventful. But, one thing about me is that I love to draw. It takes a powerful force to seperate me from my sketch book." he chuckled and turned his head towards the ground, looking up at her out of partailly lidded eyes, daring her to attempt.
Diana's smile broadened and she laughed softly. "Let me guess...that powerful force would be a rock?" She couldn't help but say it, it just flowed out of her mouth without a thought and she put a hand to her mouth and held back the laugh that threatened to come from her. "Alright...something about me...hmm. Well I love astrology and I'm a dream weaver. How's that?" She couldn't help but wonder about her horoscope of the day. But then her thoughts slowly slipped towards 'Ras and she wondered if he would mind her slipping into his dreams that night. She was just too curious about peoples dreams. It always seemed to define them, show what no one saw on the outside. She wondered what no one saw in him...what his dreams revealed.
A slight frown and his hands an his hips was all 'Ras response to her joke. But, he smirked slightly, it was true. He chuckled slightly. "Well, in some cases yes." he chuckled. When he heard her trades, he smiled. "Those are rather interesting trades. I myself am into architecture and drawing." he smiled at her.
Diana smiled softly as he chuckled, she loved that laugh. It was soft and gentle, but yet powerful. She walked slowly up to him and she ran her tongue over her canines as she cocked her head to the side. "Hmm...simple but unique. I like that about trades...but for men on the other hand. I like them to be unique of course...but simple? No, I'd rather have them be random and complicated. Put's a lot of fun into life. Don't you think?" She brought up a soft beige paw and placed the end of her forefinger on his chin as she stared up into his eyes for what seemed the hundredth time that day.
He chuckled again, he could tell she liked that from the way she acted when he laughed. He gripped her finger in his paw and leaned towards her, smirking somewhat as he kept his eyes locked on hers. "How about unpredicatable?" he asked slyly.
