  1. <font color='698AAB'>\\ OOC: LOL! I don't understand most slash. I usually can't see anything at all between the characters, so I get the "huh...?" expression when I read it. LOL. Like the LoTR Legolas/Gimli slash.. wherezzat comin' from? Ô_o;  However, I'm very willing to believe Sam/Frodo slash.. mwaha.. lmao!

Aiolos shakes his head while walking, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"No, verbal methods are not the only way to produce a desired effect, that's simply how some choose to do it."</span>

He stops and turns to look at Nurano, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"While I prefer vocal spells, as I have practiced them most, and know how to manipulate Fronima best that way, I've been teaching myself to use mental cues. Being male, of course, this is more difficult, but not impossible."</span> Aiolos glances at Nafel and Kujai, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"Being female, they would probably pick up mental projection better than either of us."</span>

As if to prove his point, Aiolos looks at a tree, and stares at it intensely. A moment later, a huge gust seems to whip through the branches, as the entire thing shakes as if caught in a hurricane, though the trees around it remain untouched. Aiolos had envoked his Kiklyma spell mentally.

He stops and looks back to Nurano, slightly out of breath, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"Quite a bit more draining. I need more practice."</span>

At that, he turns around again, and saunters in the direction of Yuli.

Kujai chuckles, watching him go, and picking herself up to follow, idily mentions, <span style='color:#CB9201'>"He hates speaking mentally. He hates most things having to do with telepathy, so it's quite a switch learning to cultivate his mental talent."</span>

Seeing Aiolos had just about reached the waiting master, she gestures in their direction, <span style='color:#CB9201'>"Shall we?"</span> Being in a very happy mood at present, Kujai stands and trots across the grass, a light bounce in her step.</font>

  2. <font color='#CCCCCC'>OOC: Frodo/Sam slash is the best, lol. They're just so funny! I also like to things by Mohawk Elf on fanfiction.net

BIC: Nafel smiles. "Aye, it is easier for mental spells for us, but they won't expect it from a male." Following Kujai she swishes her tail and flexes her wings. As Nurano follows her, she blinks to two-color optics, staring at a golden and black bird. It is larger then normal, it looks like a prey bird. It's eyes are amber and it's tail and pinion feathers are black, with the rest an irridescent gold. Staring at the creature, which she has never seen before, she is aware of Nurano stopping by her.

He looks at it and speaks. "I wonder what it is." Nafel is about to speak, but it inturrupted mentally.

:I am a creature not of this planet. I come from the relm of hidden desires, restless slumber, and spirit.:

She looks at him in fear, for as a young child she saw visions of Fronima. :You're... from Fronima? How did you come?:

He gives a mental chuckle. :Yes, child. You conjured me, did you not?: Before she can speak anymore, the bird flies off, seeming to dissapear.

She looks at Nurano as they walk to Kujai. "It said I summoned it... It said I summoned it from Fronima."

Nurano looks puzzled. "Ask Aiolos after this, or ask Kujai. We need to hurry up." They meet Kujai, Nafel still pale and shaken.</font>

  3. <font color='698AAB'>\\ OOC: I'm gonna PM you soon/later so we can do some plannin'! [IMG]

Kujai glances at Nurano and Nafel as they approach, then back to Aiolos. However something didn't seem right with either of them, and she looks a second time, telepathing, <span style='color:#CB9201'>{Are you two alright?}</span>

Aiolos, meanwhile, was busy with Yuli. It seemed she had quite a bit to say. When she wanted to, at least.

"You do realize the current use of magic as it is has worked perfectly for centuries. The Graders are a perfect example of how proper regulations are made on that basis."

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"But the way things are done now, the young are not taught to have original thought in the creation of spells."</span>

"That may be, but it keeps mass murderings from happening at such a young age. Tempermental tantrums are not unheard of in the pubescent."

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"Not training them to fight with their magic leaves them at a disadvantage if ever approached by someone unkind."</span>

"If they properly execute defensive skills, such as invisibility, then they can get away without confrontation."

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"There are ways around invisibility, and many masters are quite knowledgable in those arts."</span>

"But then, why would a master attack a young one?"

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"It's not unheard of in our history for the middle aged and elderly to snap. Nor the ruthlessness of the abused to come forth when they are big enough to attack the weaker."</span>

The debate continues in controlled tones. He wasn' going to get points knocked off for screaming in outrage.</font>

  4. <font color='#CCCCCC'>Nurano smirks weakly, hearing the argument. The Graders, old as they were, killed off plenty of young, and he knew it. His opinion was that they needed to teach the gifted more extensive spells, and basic ones to those that weren't as talented.

'Pathing back to Kujai, shakilly, she says {I just saw a bird. It was a preybird, with golden and black feathers. It 'pathed to me. It said I had summoned it from Fronima... then it left. I've never seen it, but I used to have visions from Fronima, soon after my mother died.} Nurano nods, moving Nafel slowly towards Kujai. He cannot 'path, so he simply watches Nafel.</font>

  5. <font color='#FFFFFF'>very nice skech! [IMG] better than any thing ive seen to date and thanks for helping me out on some questions [IMG]</font>

  6. <font color='698AAB'>\\ OOC: hehe, thank ya Jake! And no problem, if ya have any other questions, just let us know!

Oh, remember, here in IC-ville, to mark all OOC comments with an OOC. Annoying, maybe, but it's tradition. *grins* [IMG]

Kujai tilts her head at Nafel, thinking, trying hard to remember if she'd ever heard of a black and gold prey avian before.. and nothing was ringing any bells.

<span style='color:#CB9201'>{From Fronima? And it spoke to you?}</span> she was curious, now, as no creature had ever spoken the same language as pendragons before, to her albeit limited knowledge.

Aiolos continues his argument with the master, momentarily oblivious to the whole discussion that was happening between Kujai, Nafel, and Nurano.

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"...And what about the rapine? Everyone is needed to fight against them. Even the adolescent."</span>

"Teeth and claws have often proved more than enough."

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"Not nearly enough. Using purely physical means to attack thse creatures only works if you are equal or greater to their size, and also assumes you are fighting one-on-one."</span>

"The rapine spread out, and are rather dull-witted. It is not hard to kill them."

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"To you perhaps. But what about the adolescents who know nothing but defensive skills? They cannot kill, nor can they run and hide, because the rapine can sense them. It leaves them to be slaughtered."</span>

"Quite hardly. Our warriors, military, and master mages are perfect at what they do in protecting our world. Fighting is not left to unaided children."

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"But the military, warriors, and mages cannot be everywhere at once. A rogue rapine can murder many before it's stopped. Without teaching the young SOME offensive techniques as well as the ordinary defensive ones you're leaving them naive and easy to kill."</span>

Yuli pauses. "I will speak with the Janardan principal, and see if teaching a choice few of the more responsible adolescents should learn offensive techniques."

Aiolos sighs inwardly. That was like pulling teeth... But he doesn't show his irritation that easily. He inclines his head, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"Thank you master Yuli. I appreciate and acknowledge our differences."</span> Well, no reason not to be formal, now was there?

Yuli mimics his motion, "Thank you journeyman Aiolos. I appreciate and acknowledge our differences." At that, the aged female stand and saunters off, in the diection of Janardan's main doors, as Kilesh had before her.

As soon as she's out of earshot, Aiolos sighs heavily, and looks at other three. <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"What's all this concernedness, now?"</span></font>

  7. <font color='#CCCCCC'>Nafel speaks aloud for the males, knowing that they cannot 'path as well. "I saw a golden and black prey-avian. I've never seen one such as it before. As I saw it, it 'pathed me. Not it, I guess. He. He said that I had summoned him from Fronima. He wasn't hostile, he seemed kind. After he said that, he flew away. Nobody else say him that I can tell, except for Nurano. Kujai wasn't looking, and neither were you or the master. The only connections that I've ever had with Fronima were some vivid nightmares and... visions. It was all soon after my mother and sisters died. I was only 8 00." She trails off, looking at the ground.

Nurano speaks. "He 'pathed only to Nafel, he didn't look twice at me. But what she said is true, he wasn't hostile in any way, though he could easilly have gouged her eyes out. I've never heard of such a thing... do you know what it is? Maybe just a vision or halucination. But, then it would have said a message or something. This one said 'hi', andswered the question of where it was from, and left." He paws the ground worriedlly, wondering what this creature could be.</font>

  8. <font color='698AAB'>Kujai listens to the description of the bird, and taking it at face value shakes her head, <span style='color:#CB9201'>"I don't know of any avian species on Ramath that are capable of communication."</span>

Aiolos ignores Kujai's logical thinking, as this needed abstract thought, and she didn't realize it yet. He studies Nafel carefully, for a very long moment, before replying.

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"You said you've had visions before? And nightmares?  ... Often, are they? Or were."</span> his tone was gentle. He wanted to gain as much information as possible before bringing forth his idea of what it could possibly be.</font>

  9. <font color='#CCCCCC'>Nafel shakes visably. "Yes... For about a month before my mother and sister died, and about 6 months after. I dreamed that my mother was being murdered. I told her, but she thought they were just nightmares, with nothing behind them. One day she and my sister went out on errands, and... never came back. My other sister dissapeared soon thereafter." she says this all with a rather detached air. Having had the 8 00 years to seperate herself from the horror of losing her only family, she's forced herself to experience it as if she was just a watcher, and not really there. Her wings shake, she is in no good shape right now.

Nurano coaxes her to sit down, seeing that her legs are about to give out. "There, that's a good girl. It's okay, everything's alright." She begins to calm slightly, her dialated pupils expanding.</font>

  10. <font color='698AAB'>Kujai's mood swings again, but this time to an unnatural attitude. The mention of family brought up much more horrible things in her mind, and personally, she probably would've gladly traded places with Nafel, in losing them.

Aiolos could se the change of mood Kujai had taken, and shifts to stand a bit between her, and the other two, giving her a rather withering look.

Confined for the moment, Kujai simply huffs, thoughts rather self-centered at the moment, and plays with the blades of grass at her feet.

Turning back to Nafel, Aiolos sits.

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"You don't have to answer if you don't want to, or can't remember, but I feel inclined to ask.."</span> a pause, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"For the six months after, did you want the visions, dreams, nightmares, to stop, or did they go away of their own volition?"</span></font>

  11. <font color='#CCCCCC'>OOC: I went to the Aisan Fest. at the Botanical Gardens. I got Bubble Tea! ^_^

What I was thinking as to why she got the Spirit-form was that she wanted the visions to leave her badly, and they were a result of her strong magic Gift, so she was able to split it from her in the form of the hawk-thingy who made the visions leave her alone.

BIC: Nurano looks at Kujai, noticing her odd reaction. Seeing Aiolos getting her under control, he decides not to do anything.

Nafel lowers her head, almowt whispering. "They went away... on their own, I think. I was trapped in Fronima, in a dream, and..." she gulps, her pupils dialated again. "things were chasing me. Shadow-creatures. I don't know what. I wanted the visions to stop, I wanted them to stop so badly. But, they wanted me... I saw a big bird, golden... It made them leave, and I didn't see it again. Do you think it was the same bird?" She looks at Aiolos, shaking.</font>

  12. <font color='698AAB'>\\ OOC: *nods* Gotcha! [IMG]

    \\ IC

Aiolos nods slowly, and he had a rather firm thought of what it was. But, not wanting to jump to conclusions, he asks one final question, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"I apologize for the nature of this question before hand.. has any of your family line ever had great magical prowess?"</span> He realized this inadvertently asked about her deceased family members, not just long-apart relatives.

He then remembered her skill at picking up the spell quite easily. He figured at the time she simply had the acutre intelligence to understand what he'd explained, but perhaps it was more than that..

Kujai continues idily playing with the grass, not looking to get involved at the moment. In one palm she lights a small ball of black and violet flame, no bigger than an apple; the center being black with the air-licking top being violet, and between the two parts, and blended mix.

Rather dangerously beautiful; for in essence, this was her 'tail flame'. Only she had the skill to play with the magical fire on command, rather than having it attached to her whip-like tail, like males.</font>

  13. <font color='#CCCCCC'>OOC: I'm going to be gone from the 14th to the 18th, but I might be able to post on the 14th. So, that's why I'm going to be gone, I didn't abandon the thread!

BIC: Nurano looks at the flame with interest, the colors surprising him. He rarely bothers to manipulate his tail flame except for making it brighter or dimmer when he has use of it. Looking at Aiolos, he nods, but Nafel cannot see him.

"Yes. I never knew my father, but my mother, grandmother, and one of my sisters and some aunts and other relatives were strongly gifted. All the females in the family were... unusual. Most of us were physically flawed or unusual. My..." she gulps. "mother, for instance, was blind. My grandmother was mentally imbalanced, but she was a strong seer. My..." another gulp. "sister was able to influence 'Dragons. I remained fairly normal, but... I have little physical strength. I can aid it with my magic, but otherwise I'd probably be bedridden with weak bones." She shows little emotion at the listing of he family, except for her mother and her sisters.

Nurano begins to whisper calming phrases to her, to ease her signs of shock. He looks at Aiolos. "Well?"</font>

  14. <font color='698AAB'>\\ OOC: Have fun!  [IMG]

    \\ IC

Aiolos looks at Nurano, then to Nafel, dropping his head to look her in the eyes (seeing as how with his size he was unintentionally towering over her) and speaks, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"I don't believe you're quite as normal as you think."</span>

Kujai instantly slaps him from her position behind the behemoth, as she was often ridiculed for being abnormal as a child with her extra set of limbs that didn't quite make it to being wings. Any mention of someone not being normal brought out a good deal of rage in her.

Aiolos continues as if nothing had happened.

<span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"I believe you had quite a bit of power, but you disowned it as soon as your family passed on. You feel 'normal' because you've separated yourself from the part of you that is linked to Fronima as best as you could at such a young age - which apparently, was quite well."</span>

He looks at Nurano, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"You're older, I gather, than she is? However I doubt either of you have ever had the schooling in what I'm talking about.."</span> a pause <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"And before you ask, yes, it is possible to eject your magical talent from your body. But you must be powerful enough to do it."</span>

Aiolos looks at Nafel again, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"I'll leave you to research it on your own, if you like. But check out the Janardan library and find the obscure subject on spirit-forms. That'll provide all the answers you're looking for, I'm sure."</span>

Kujai, still pissed, and not at all paying attention to the conversation, slaps him again, now throwing a tantrum like a 200 year old.</font>

  15. <font color='#CCCCCC'>OOC: Thanks! [IMG]

BIC: Nafel nods. "I'll research it. Thank you for your help." noticing Kujai, she raises an 'eyebrow'. "Uh... have fun." She smiles slightly, her former self returning slowly.

Nurano grins, glad to see his friend on the mend. "Aye, I'm 2000. She's only 1600. And Kujai is... never mind. I want to keep my tail." He smiles, showing he means nothing by it.

Nafel speaks again. "Well, I'm eager to research this. I've got homework though, and I need to head over to the library, so I think this is goodbye. Good job on your Journeyman's exam!" She smiles and gets up, her legs shaking only a little. She waves, bows her head, and begins to walk to the doors.

Nurano does the same, but before he walks he says a final farewell. "Nice meeting both of you. See you around sometime!" He smiles and trots to keep up with Nafel, shouting at her to wait up.</font>

  16. <font color='698AAB'>\\ OOC: Lemme know whenever you want Aio to teach Nurano (and/or Nafel) some spells, as we can set up another thread. hehe  [IMG]

    \\ IC

Aiolos' muzzle curves into the smallest of malicious smiles at Nurano's comment on Kujai's current state of mind. He honestly didn't disagree.

Kujai watches them go, and looks at Aiolos with narrowed eyes, <span style='color:#CB9201'>"Abnormal is she? Well I'm just as abnormal, and I like that!"</span> she was grating her teeth.

Aiolos turns a gentle eye on her, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"And I love every bit of your differences."</span>

Kujai's mood flashes from anger to coy innocence. Shyly she giggles, <span style='color:#CB9201'>"Oh. Well, then that's a good thing."</span> she stands and gets ready to trot off, <span style='color:#CB9201'>"Are you coming, sir journeyman?"</span> she moves off without looking back.

Aiolos smirks, <span style='color:#AC0A0A'>"Wouldn't dream of staying behind."</span> Then walks on after the six-legged schizo.</font>
