"Well I was just thinking of when I first tried to conjure a fire ball but I knew I was a Pyro before that. Let me think." He is 5 years old. Mom is lighting the stove. Dad is outside lighting the grill. He is feeling like he doesn't belong in this family. He wants to have a power too. Suddenly, the lights went out and Mom and Dad tried to light candles. Sohco is scared, and Mom trips. She breaks her ankle and Dad runs to help her. They are all stuck in the dark because Mom can't move. Sohco cries out "Maybe I can help!" and rushes to the nearest candle. Before his parents can say he's too little, he has lit the candle. He runs through the house lighting all the candles. All he can think about is Mom. "I guess I just wanted to prove to myself that I fit in. And my mom was hurt. I wanted to help in any way I could."
Hali nodded. What feeling is that? lonelyness? no. belonging? Definitly not. Desire? That has possiblities. She continued to list emotions in her head and then dismissing them. However she kept coming back to desire. She realized she had been quiet for quite some time. She looked back at Socho. "Okay i think your emotion at the time was desire, but I'm no empath so I'm probably wrong, but it's still worth a shot. So what do you really want? Nothing stupid like a material possesion, those aren't worth anything for what you need to think about." She said. She noted that she probably didn't make much sense to him at the moment, but he would figure it out all in good time. "So extinguish that flame and give it another go when you have what you want in mind," She finished.
"Desire?" Sohco questioned, and the flame dissapeared. "Hmmmm..." He focused on his paw again, and thought about what he really wanted... Kataari looked at him, laughing hysterically.....NO I CAN'T THINK ABOUT KATAARI. Kataari leaned in close to him, smiling...I ALREADY SAID I CAN'T THINK ABOUT HER. Kataari walked through the door asking if there were any job openings...IT'S IMPOSSIBLE I CAN'T WANT..... "Kataari.." he said quietly. A gold flame appeared in his paw, and it felt like he wasn't even doing anything.
Hali nodded again. "Yes, that's what I thought." She said. It was true. The way Socho had been going on about her, she had figured that the thing he really wanted was her. "Okay now that we've figured that out, can you set things on fire?" She saw he was about to say something and cut him off. "I know you said you could already set stuff on fire and then call it off, but i want to see. Now then, I don't want you to ruin anything...hmmm..." She thought for a moment. "You're going to set me on fire," She said, the words ringing through the cavernous space.
"But- uh- I- um- what?" Sohco stammered. "You actually want me to set you on fire? are ya kidding me? I can't do taht I've already hurt Kataari and I told you that I don't like hurting things unless its in self defense and...." He noticed that Hali had fallen silent while listening to his ramblings. He took a deep breath and said, "No."
"Have you not been listening!?" Hali yelled in frustration. She was tempted to slap Socho for his idiocy. She took a deep breath and counted to ten, calming herself. "Now then, let's get a few things straight. No matter how illegal I am your teacher, you should do as you are told, secondly I am a pyro and an independant one at that. This means I draw my power from a closed-off part of fronima, in other words only i have access to it and therefore it is just a bit more powerful. Third I don't care about your ethics in the real world the 'dragon with less ethics is better off when it comes to saving their skin..." She stopped. "God I sound like my mother." That was the last thing she wanted to do. She looked Socho in the eyes and clearly stated the following; "You are going to set me on fire. I will be just fine and heck you might even get to see a fireworks display if I feel like putting one on,"
Sohco almost lost it again, but he remained calm. "Listen, I know it won't hurt you but please, I just don't want to. But if you can somehow find Kataari, please tell her that..." He didn't even know what he wanted to say. "Tell her to come down here. I think she'll know what you mean. She's rather perceptive." He smiled thinking of how much he loved her.
Hali shook her head. "Fine, just don't burn the place down." She said. She went over to the door and stepped through. She was in a curtain of mist and then she was once again standing in the clearing. She spread her bat-like wings and rose into the air. When she broke through the canopy of leaves she saw that it was approaching dawn. Have i really been gone that long? She thought. She flew due East and a bit north in the direction fo Janarden academy. She figured that was where she was most likely to meet this 'Katarri'. A good twenty minutes later she landed at the front gates. It was still early so she had to show the gaurd her student ID. Once she was let in she went to the dormitories, she'd be able to ask the secretary where Katarri was. Upon entering she thought she heard faint screams from far off. Oh no She thought with dismay. She sprinted off to dorm 964. When she arrived she put her hand in her pocket to retrive the key Leah had given her. Her hand went right through a hole in the bottom of the pocket. Shit she thought. She rattled the doorknob knowing that it probably wouldn't do any good. She was about to set the door on fire when a tan 'dragon opened it. She pushed past her. "Leah? Wake up!" Leehara continued to scream. She place one of her finges at the base of Leah's skull and sent a jolt of electricity to it. Leah was silenced, she woke up a few minutes later and introduced her to the 'dragon she had passed on the way in. "I think you've met my new room mate? Her name is Katarri." Hali acted as though she had only heard of Katarri briefly. Then leah shoved her and she gave her almost the full story, but she ran off before she got the chance to finish. Hali ran after her eventually giving up and flying.
Sohco hoped that Hali would hurry. He waved goodbye to her and sat in silence. OOC: AHHH SHORT POST!!!!!! BTW the end! this thread will continue in dorms with "Memories Reveal"
