oh shit that goddamn fire ball didn't hurt, but it revealed his tattoo. "look at this you goddamned complete idiot! what the hell do you think you're doing??" Hali started to fly closer. "Get the hell away!" He felt flames licking at his paws. no not now not right here please oh god he tried to control himself, but he was twitching uncontrollably. please oh please i don't want to hurt anyone especially not this kid... she reminds me so much of Kataari... he managed not to shoot the flames at Hali.
"it's just a tattoo, and it can't be as awful as Leah's or nearly as bad as Malak's," Then she remembered not many people knew Malak and even fewer knew Leah. "Leah's tattoos give her dreadful nightmares and Malak has a heart tattoo on her ankle with her initials and her boy friend's in it," She still couldn't see the tattoo properly. Oh well, She thought sighing.
"I'm sorry I just lose it sometimes... its just that these gloves help me forget about... her" he whispered the last word, a single tear running down his cheek. OOC: crappy post I know but brain is fried after being in the sun for most of the day. ;)
Now Hali felt like a jerk. She flew to where the 'dragon was standing. She lifted the tear from his face and hugged him, whispering comforting words into his ear. She couldn't tell if he heard her, but she didn't really care. "Sorry," She whispered a bit louder.
"it's ok... its a long story though..." he hesitated then said, "i never told anybody this but do you think you could listen to me for a while?" please say ok i really need to get this off of my chest please...
"I don't mind at all, but you might want to find some place a bit more private, the things that lurk here will feed off of your weakness so long as they know what it is." She had a flash back of him attempting to cast a spell. "why don't you try that spell again?" She suggested, then added "but first you need to tell me your name," She thought it was a fair trade.
"well i said it already but that was when you had that shield up" he said, grinning. "i'm Sohco and you might want to stand back a little." He turned to the blackened tree and muttered "please work" "Veja vyjn hall, doepa ni uen, las ni veja woall, jyodham sha duna." Suddenly, the tree spun around very quickly, encasing them both in darkness. "Ledhst ym" he called out in the darkness. suddenly the lights came on and there was a door in front of them. He said "Ni muna et Sohco" and the door opened. They were in a rather large room. "Sit down. Ready to hear this?"
Hali looked around the room in astonishment. "Wow," She breathed. "Who'd have thought that through all of the uglyness of the forest there was this?" She said more to herself than Socho. She went over to a couch, sat down and crossed her legs.
"OK here's my story. When I was 15 I was working and I met a 'dragon named Kataari. She was homeless and needed a job, but she was 10 years old. She appreaed shy but one day a few weeks after she started working she told me she really liked me. Even though there was an age difference, I kinda liked her too." Sohco stood up and exhaled loudly, with his back turned to Hali. "This is where it really got complecated. We dated for about two years, and we thought we loved each other. I got this tattoo, with hers and my initials in it." He showed Hali his tattoo, a heart that read K + S. "But, one day, I just couldn't handle it. She was so young and I... I thought we should break up. I told her we could still be friends. But I was the only home or family Arri ever knew and she was really upset... in fact, she's the one who gave me these scars." He pointed to his face. "I tried to remove the tattoo, but it wouldn't come off no matter what I did. So that's why I wear these gloves... or rather, this glove," he said, holding up his right paw. "I got really angry and lost control... I blew up Arri's house by accident... I went away and found this place, just like my parents had told me. Since then this has been my home slash "practice place" so I can learn to control my Pyrokinesis." "I was coming here today and you were on the path. When I saw you, I couldn't stop thinking about how much you reminded me of Kataari. Not in looks but personality. And, when you burned off my glove, and I was twitching, I thought about..." he trailed off.
Hali nodded. "I have the same problem, minus the love thing, but my emontional control sucks, to put it bluntly," Hali mulled over his story. I seriously doubt his fire could hurt me...but is he more than one kenetic?....that might be a problem She thought, she knew that with her two Kenisises that her power was drawn from her own source, she wasn't sure if that was the same for other pendragons in the same situation. "I could help you practice," She offered. She had the feeling she would regret the idea, but she brushed it off.
Sohco was too shocked to say anything. Somehow he managed to say "Um, sure... I'm kinda speechless from this random act of kindness, especially from you... no offense but you've been... let's just say 'standoffish'."
Hali shruged. "Moodswings," She said, as though it answered everything. She thought back to her teachers at Janarden and what they had tuaght her. Slowly she came up with ideas that could work. "Okay before we start I should have to know that you would get better advice from a teacher and me teaching you is probably illegal, but as long as you don't mind that and can keep a secret we should be fine." She waited for a responce, but none came. "Okay then, first I need to know what the extent of your power is." She saw a look of confusion cross the arden's face. "What can you do with it I mean. Can you make fire balls, can you set objects on fire and then call off the flames, can you use the heat to push yourself away from the ground or can you use it like telekenisis, although those last two are hard i can barely get myself off the ground, gives you the worst headache if you use too much power." She realized she was ranting, which wasn't something she did with strangers. Though she could not continue to call Socho a stranger.
"Well all that I know that I can do is the set on fire then call them back. I think I might be able to do fire balls but I'm not too sure. I don't really have any spells except the one to get in here. Do you?"
Hali laughed quietly to herself. "The thing about kenetics is that it's all with the mind, sure there are inhancment spells, but those only go so far. Most of the time it comes down to emotional control and mental capabilities." She said. At one point in time she had thought her powers were all spells, but she had learned and she would make Socho learn too. Hmmm, he sould be able to atleast hold fireballs if not make them himself. She thought. "Okay here's the plan, I will make a fireball in my hand and then pass it off to you, it shouldn't hurt and you should be able to hold it, if you can't that's okay some pyros never get the hang of it. When you can hold the fireball and it feels comforatble we'll see if you can do it yourself. Hows that sound?" Hali smiled.
"OK I guess that sounds all right. But if I can't do it you have to promise not to laugh!" Sohco warned Hali. "Kataari laughed here once and... well let's just say that there are things here that will attack you if you laugh. I got rid of one that attacked Arri with Pyrokinesis."
Hali nodded as she conjured up a midnight ball of flames in her left palm. It was about the size of a tennis ball and it rested on a cushion of air approximately an inch above her hand. She held it close to Socho. "As a pyro you shouldn't have to do much to hold a fireball, just knowing that it's there should do it," She said as she gently dropped it into his gloveless hand.
A few minutes passed as Sohco held the fire ball in his gloveless hand. The gold flecks in his dark eyes were illuminated in the light of the ball. OOC: lol that sounds so wrong BIC: To his amazement the midnight blue fire ball slowly faded, and in its place was a brilliant gold one. "Holy shit!" he cried, staring at the ball in shock. "I can frekin' conjure a fire ball!"
"Not quite," Hali chuckled. "You're just using more power than I am. See?" As she said this she hightened her power just a bit and it went back to the blue-ish black it had been before. She saw his face darken a bit. "but don't worry it's a common misconception," She said, quoting one of her professors. "I'm going to call off my power and the fire ball will disappear, then you need to focus on creating another one, just don't focus to hard otherwise you might burn the place down." She said, relinquishing her powers. The ball of flames disappeared. "Your turn," She said, smiling.
He thought really hard about what his dad had told him about conjuring fire balls. He was 7 years old. His father was trying to teach him to conjure things. "Sohco, you have to invision the fire ball taking shape in your paw. If you don't you won't be able to." Sohco focused very hard on his paw. For a second he thought he saw gold sparks. He looked to his father who shook his head as if to say My only child can't even conjure a fire ball. Sohco started to feel very angry and his paws warmed. Flames were shooting out of his paws everywhere and his father ducked. The flames suddenly stopped and Sohco looked at his father. In his father's eyes was a new respect for his son. Sohco focused on his paw and invisioned a gold flame taking shape in his paw. He thought for a minute that his vision was too strong, but realized that a small but sure flame was nestled in his paw.
"You're trying too hard," Hali noted. Then on impluse she asked him a question. "What emotion were you feeling when you found out you were a pyro?" She sincerly hoped it wasn't anger or hate. They were two of the most powerful, but they were also two of the most incontrolable. OOC: AHHH! It's attack of the short posts *runs away*
