Tael looked at the compass that still hung around his neck before announcing, "We're in the middle of the desert,Tsuj." Glancing back over at Vlun, he shook his head and let out another sigh. "I assume you put on the little display to get our attention, did you not? Do you need a break?"

"Did you get too much sun and your brain fried?" his mind went on. This was just great, they were getting no where fast. A slight wind ruffled the 'dragon's hair and he looked to the east.

((OOC: Ooh! Ooh! Sandstorm + cool hidden cave dealy = plot!!! Yes?))

 

Vlun nodded to confirm what Tael had said.

"Yeah. I can't run forever..."

He said simply. He rubbed a bit of stray sand that had made its way in to his eye. He was not feeling in the best of moods. He noted the tone of Tael's words, he seemed to be in just a bad of mood as Vlun. It might have been the heat or just their situation, but he felt sick, he felt exahsted for some reason. Dont worry it will pass, its just from all that running. He asured himself.

Tael quirked an eyebrow in the newest 'dragon's direction. "No, we're on our way east... There's really no way to be lost. We're in the middle of the desert and we'll be out about an hour after the sun sets," he said with a glance at the sky.

((OOC: Okay, my little plot goes into action next post.... I've got to run.))

 

Vlun watched as the newest pendragon arived. It seemed like it took forever for the purple pendragon to land, but when she finaly did, it only seemed like seconds. Vlun sighed.

"Hello there. Don't mind us we are just sitting here in the middle of the desert."

He said sarcasticaly. He felt a slight wind start to pick up and send tiny specks of sand into his fur. He paid no attention to it and wiped the sand from his coat before continueing.

"Only another hour, hoorah!"

He said with more mock exageration, and colapsed on the sand, sending up a small spray of sand.

((OOC: Plot is starting! I'm planning on the cave being quite interesting... feel free to add little embelishments to it's design as you see fit.))

Tael looked over the pendragons before him and snorted again, still not an appealing action. "Tell me when you're ready to move on," he muttered, still sitting on the itchy ground.

Green strands of hair whipped around his face and a faint whirring sounded in his ears. Little specks of sand were lifted off of the ground and spun around in small whirlwinds across the dunes. Tael took off his goggles for a moment before putting them back on snuggly. Was that noise just in his head?

The wind whipped against his back, pelting him with stinging grains of sand. Wincing slightly, he turned to face into the wind. Where was the sky? There was no blue... only brown, yellow, and gold. Thick opaque clouds must be covering it all, that was it. But no, peering through the glass of his goggles he saw that the cloud was approaching and quickly. It was sand, a giant wall of sand, and it was headed right for them.

"SANDSTORM!" Tael yelled, turning his back to the wind yet again and franticly looking for cover. There was none to be seen, and so he raced over to Tsuj and threw him onto his back and took off running. Hopefully he could protect the little guy if they couldn't outrun it.

((OOC: Shall they discover the cave before or after they're up to their necks in sand?))

 

Vlun layed there for a little bit. Any voices he heard where just a blur, he did not care what they were saying. He was wrapped up in his own thoughts. ITS FRIGGIN HOT!

He felt the wind suddenly pick up. He opened one eye and looked around before some sand got in it. He sat up and tried to rub it out when he heard Tael's cry.

"SANDSTORM!"

"Not again." He groaned looking towards the wall of oncoming sand. Suddenly Tsuj and Tael where gone. He quickly got up to his feet and started running after them. He ran as fast as he could go, his long ears tailing behind him. We will never outrun it. He said to himself.

 

((OOC: Well, I'm heading off on vacation tomorrow, so don't expect me back until Sunday the 15th. Sorry about that. I'll try to update if I can on my dad's laptop.))

The 'dragon looked around again. There had to be somewhere, ANYWHERE they could take shelter. His eyes searched wildly and zeroed in on a small overhang. He dug his feet into the sand, flinging it behind him as he veered sharply. Upon coming closer, he discovered it was more than just a jutting rock, but an opening.

Not stopping to think about the consequences, Tael flung Tsuj off his back and through the opening of the cave and followed in after.

Thes! The others! his mind screamed at him. "Here!" he yelled over the rumblings of the storm. Tael waved his arms frantically for them to get inside. He never really did handle stressful situations well. All he could do was hope that they would make it in time.

 

Vlun had fallen a little bit behind, all of the other pendragons had wings but he had only his own agility to help him. He ran as fast as he could, he was withn the first wave of the sandstorm, sand swirling around him, but he could feel the stronger winds racing to engulf him. He heard a yell from Tael and continued in his direction, he could only tell by the sound of his voice for the sand was all around him. Suddenly he stumbled and fell into an opening. He opened his eyes and saw Tsuj and Tael there.

"What the...."

He started, but did not finish because he realized they where missing one, Thi was still out there. He got up and stood next to Tael.

"Over here!!!"

He yelled with him.

THES! his mind cursed again. Why was he responsible for so many younger 'dragons all of a sudden. "Watch Tsuj." With that said, he adjusted his goggles and leapt out the entrance.

The storm was horrible. It was all but impossible to see more than an inch infront of his face, but he knew where she was, and he was going to save her. Yay for heroics... The sand stung and slammed against him, forcing him back, but he had to get everyone in the cave. He knew what could happen if you were out in a big enough sandstorm, and it wasn't a plesant thought.

Tael bumped into something of an unmistakable purple coloring and grabbed onto Thi with one paw. "Come on!" He had no intentions of leaving her out here, and so he dragged her back to the cave. How he ever found the opening with all that sand is beyond my comprehension, but he did. Pushing Thi inside, he collapsed in the entrance way, wheezing and covered in sand.

"Get..." Tael coughed before going on. "Get to the back." He forced himself away from the opening. Sand poured endlessly from the hole, just coming and coming. That couldn't be a good thing, but at least they were all safe.

 

Vlun watched as Tael dissapeared into the mass of sand. Vlun turned to Tsuj and then back to the swirling mss of sand, his eyes squinted into tiny slits. He continued to yell, just incase they needed it. Finaly Tael came back with Thi and Vlun went back further in the cave near Tsuj.

"Lovely weather we are having."

He said with a sarcastic grin. He sat down on the hard rocky floor and sheilded his face from the sand that made its way into the cave. Vlun opened his eyes just enough to see the entrance half filled with sand before he was forced to shut them again.
