"Sure!" said Kuss, leaning against a rock and chewing on a piece of dried meat. "Exploring is quite fun, if I do say so my self."
Nylorac looked at Kuss myscheviously and said slyly they say that there is a treasure hidden in these caves... we could become rich... She laughed for she didn't really believe in such nonsense.
Kuss smiled, still leaning on the rock. She shrugged and answered "Treasure is as treasure does, but thatÂ’s certainly not why I explore. It's just...fun!"
Definetly! Why don't we go ahead and start. It will be a good pastime as we wait out this big storm... Uhhh how will we find our way back? I didn't bring anything...
Kuss withdrew a large ball of yarn from her pack. "We can use this." She quickly tied the string to a nearby rock, and set off into the cave.
Good idea. Nylorac caught up to the other 'dragon and looked around at the cave with interest from her pack she pulled out the base of a torch and ran back to the fire. With her mouth she placed the flaming object into her tail holding her tail over the other dragon and herself in order to make sure that they would be able to se the yarn on the way back. The caves were dark and gloomy the walls were slimy and black. The cieling got low and then got high again and the two newfound friends slowly continued down the dark passageway. There was several forks in the caves and soon none of the two remembered exactly where they had come, well at least Nylorac didn't. Finally as the fire began to dim they saw light at the end of the tunnel. Finally!
Kuss did a little dance, and rushed forward. She suddenly stopped and screamed "OH GOD!" Her voice echoed, and was lost amid the roar of the underground river.
Nylorac rushed forward nervously after hearing Kuss scream before she even saw her friend she said quickly What's wrong Ku...Oh my god!
A deep black-grey torrent of water barreled past below the two of them. The cave ended as suddenly as the gorge started, and they could see a opening on the other side, at about the same level as them. "Well" Kuss yelled over the water "I'm glad I didn't fall down there!"
Yeah me too. Well what do you think that we should do now? Maybe turn back or figure out a way to get down there and explore? Nylorac found the black murky water rather interesting and wondered how it had gotten so dirty.
Nylorac nodded slightly taken aback by Kuss' determination but she wanted to see what was on the other side too. She looked around, trying to find something that they could use to get across. She walked around the ledge and saw a large rock that was too large to see around so she crawled over and found an old boat, very old. It was called The Cresent Moon, the name was painted messily on the side. It was a small boat and could only fit two people. Nylorac called Kuss over and said It looks too old to ride in but we can use the mast and lay it across the ravine and crawl across. It isn't really the best idea but I can't think of anything else.
Kuss hopped down, and looked at the boat. "Yeah, that should work. Shall we give it a try? We'll both have to lift it at the same time...hmmmm."
Nylorac nodded and walked to where one end of the mast lay and using her back lifted it up and together she and Kuss brought the pole near the edge of the ridge. She looked around and then said to Kuss Help me out here. Could you hold the bottom while I lift the top and push it over?
"Sure" Kuss grasped the bottom as Nyorac pushed it across the raging torrent of water. It landed on the other side with a thump. "Well" Kuss said appraisingly "That worked well. Good idea!"
Nylorac smiled gratefully and then jumped onto the log. As she slowly, carefully made her way across she was careful to not step on the molded or broken parts of the old rotten wood. She wasn't afraid of hights but looking down at the black rushing water she was frightened. She continued moving slowly until finally reached the other end. She dropped onto the ground and called to Kuss Kuss, come on, don't step on the rotten parts or they might fall apart! Nylorac had to yell at the top of her lungs in order for Kuss to hear her. She hoped Kuss would heed her warning.. Out of Character

WEEEE suspensful *giggles*

Kuss heard Nylorac's warning drifting across the water. The other 'dragon finished crossing and Kuss hopped nimbly onto the wooden mast. Walking carefully and slowly she avoided the rotten parts until she was 2/3's of the way across when she got cocky. She held her arms out and did a little dance on the mast. Her right foot came down on a rotten spot. It gave under her weight, plunging her towards the river. She screamed in fear and pain as she managed to grab the remaining mast and a splinter sank deep into her side. She hung there afraid to move, lest the wood give way.
Out of Character

COOL!!

Nylorac growled angrily Stupid 'dragon She said quietly. She slowly hopped back onto the log and came over to where Kuss was. She looked down fearfully and then laid down on the log careful not to touch any rotted part and reached her paw down towards Kuss, praying that they would both make it out of here alive. Nylorac grabbed hold of one of Kuss' paws and said regretfully I really am sorry to do this but its our only hope. Nylorac dug her claws into Kuss' flesh and dragged the dragon up trying to pull her onto the log once more.
Kuss cringed but did not cry out as Nylorac's claws dug into her. The 'dragon was saving her life, and she had to be strong. Nylorac dragged her to the other bank and Kuss collapsed into a heap. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" she sobbed. Looking up she said "I'm a cocky little bitch, and I risked both of out lives to show off. I'm sorry."
Nylorac breathed heavily trying not to agree with Kuss as she sobbed out a confession. She patted lightly on Kuss' head and said kindly Don't worry, at least it was interesting and nobody really got hurt. It was stupid but we all do stupid things all the time right? So lets get goind and see if all that trouble was worth something! Nylorac waited patiently for Kuss and smiled at her little speech.
