  1. <span style='color:yellow'>"Thanks a lot Mr. Jay"</span> Uni said gleefully as soon as she caught her breath <span style='color:yellow'>"hey, look, i found some firewood!"</span> pointing at the branch of the tree. She saw a red trickle on Jays sholder <span style='color:yellow'>"umm... are you ok?"</span>

  2. Fujjeyj looked down at his shoulder where it had been hit. A small trickle of blood isued from the raw wound. He wiped it gently with his paw, letting the crimson blend with his already red tinted fur.

    "It's nothing."

He said looking back down at Uni. He picked up the branch and looked it over. I would do for now. He would have to go get more later but for now it would work.

'Dead wood is far simpler, safer, and environmentaly friendly to get."

He said under his breath, not really concerned it Uni heard it or not. He started to drag the wood to the camp and gestured for the small pendragon to follow him. Just one night, then we will find a city and I will be rid of her. He thought to himself hopefully.

  3. A while later at the campfire that through some mirical they had been able to set up, Uni was chomping her way through the cooked rabbit that Jay had caught earlyer. She reached for her pocket and pulled out a small pack of cards <span style='color:yellow'>"So, Jay, do you beleve in fate?"</span> Doing her best, which really wasnt very good, to create some sort of an atmosphere.

  4. Fujjeyj sat with his back to a large tree, staring into the fire. They would need more firewood soon, they would need more food....they would need to get out of here eventualy. But he would let all of it be until it was really something of concern. He let out a sigh and lifted his head at Uni's voice.

    "Yes, I do."

He said simply. He was a very superstitious pendragon, he beleived almost anything, thought he was smart enough not to let others take advantage of this fact.

    "Why?"

He added quizicaly, still staring at the seething flames engulfing the branch. A dark smoke rose from the fire, live wood did that sometimes. At least it would give their position to anyone who was passing by so they could get directions or something.

  5. <span style='color:yellow'>"well"</span> she said, attemmpting to shuffle the cards <span style='color:yellow'>"Do you want me to read your future?"</span>

  6. Fujjeyj looked up at Uni at the mention. He ganced at the cards, only now noticing them. He thought a moment and reached for a peice of some rabbit.

    "Sure, I guess."

He said, taking a bite of this chunk of fleshy rabbit meat. He wondered if Uni was actualy skilled at the cards, or if she just had them to pass the time. He watched her shuffle the cards and leaned forward a bit. He had never seen a 'future reading' before. It might be interesting.

  7. Uni placed the deck on a tree stump. She flipped the first card over, <span style='color:yellow'>"The champion"</span> The card showed an image of a galiant knight in golden armour, the last survivor in a battle feild. Uni paused and pulled out another card <span style='color:yellow'>"The wheel"</span> This card illistrated a large multicoloured wheel, being spun by both angels and demons. She placed this by the first card, and drew two more at once <span style='color:yellow'>"The lovers, and death"</span> She said, trying again to sound spooky. <span style='color:yellow'>" And the last card, showing your ultimate desteny..."</span> She flipped the top card, and stared at it, looking more shocked than she had ever been in her life.

  8. Fujjeyj watched her quizicaly, chewing his rabbit meat thouroughly. 'The champion' something he did not usualy seem to be. He smirned at the strange cooinsedence. The one time he had dome something like this, was when he was dubbed a champion by a stack of cards. He almost let out a small laugh but held it in, not wanting to upset the little pendragon. He listened to the other. Lovers? Maybe someday but he did not have a particular need to settle down any time soon. Death, not surprising. Being a pirate is bound to kill you sooner or latter. He listened for the last one, but it did not come. He looked up at Uni and the expreession on her face.

    "Well what is it?"

He said, finding he actualy had a care for what these card told about his future. He had not expected to be so eager to find out what they meant. He leaned in toward Uni, waitig to here the card's nature.

  9. Uni stared unblinkingly at the card. <span style='color:yellow'>"Th... this isnt meant to be in hear... why is this in here?"</span> she said, her voice filled with fear. <span style='color:yellow'>"I know what all the others meant... but i cant read this one..."</span> She flipped the card. It was blank on the other side, apart from being covered in some sort of luminous substance.

OOC: my bad spelling, glow in the dark substance

  10. Fujjeyj raised an eyebrow quizicaly. He relaxed and leaned back against the tree once more. That was what he had gotten worked up about? He was not as thrilled or amazed at this as Uni seemed to be.

"Im sure its just a mix up of cards or something."

He said staring back into the fire. He thought a little more about the cards Uni had revealed to him. His eyes seemed to fade out, looking into something that could not be seen. He weighed the different ways his life could turn out according to these cards, which seemed to be a little vague at best. He looked up at the sky, it was begining to get dark. Finaly he looked back at Uni.

"Well thanks for that. I think we had better get some rest."

It was more of a suggestion than anything. He planned to stay awake, keep watch. If she stayed awake it was no real setback, it might help him stay awake easier. But then again she might be tired the next day. He had no knowledge of these types of things.

  11. Uni sighed. This had to mean something, this had never happened before, and since when did luminous playing cards exist anyway? <span style='color:yellow'>"Yeah, probly right... but still, I dont have a clue where a card like that came from in the first place"</span>

  12. Fujjeyj looked over at Uni and shrugged.

    "Just let it go."

He said calmly. He did not know where the card had come from, or what it meant. Could it have been in the deck the entire time and she had just ever seen it? Seemed a little unlikely. He shook the thought from his head and looked up at the sky.

"You feel like sleeping at all?"

He said sleepily. He was getting a little tired, but he would have to stay up to protect them both.

  13. <span style='color:yellow'>"nah, im not tired"</span> she shrugged back. Although this was not entirely true, the shock of that card comeing out of nowhere kept her sleepyness marginal.

  14. Fujjeyj shrugged and looked up at the sky. It was fading ast and the stars where almost visible. Once full night broke out they would be able to get a move on in the right direction. Since Uni did not want to sleep, Fujjeyj figured that this would be an oportune time.

"Well, for the better I guess. The stars are comin' out. Once its dark we can head for civilization. Sound good?"

He asked her, though she still seemed to be occupied with the strange card.

  15. <span style='color:yellow'>"What?? how can it being dark help us find anything? If anything, it will get us more lost than we already are! I say we stay here for the night in case anything else wants to creep up on us. At least were prepared this way"</span>

  16. Fujjeyj stood up and looked down at Uni. He spoke in a calm but almost commanding voice.

"I am a professional astronomer. I know what I am doing. Besides, if something does decide to creep up on us its no good to have fallen asleep when it does. We should move."

He said. He started to gather up a few things. He looked up at the night sky and quickly calculated a few directions into his head. They would only be able to travel at night, unless Uni suddenly became a navigator. Fujjeyj had almost no idea what he was doing in the day time, but the stars revealed all.

  17. Uni followed Jeys example and collected up her things. Her plastic wings, old claws and she put the four cards back into her deck...<span style='color:yellow'>four?</span> she was sure she had drawn five. Uni looked through the four cards she had just picked up. The wheel was there, as were the lovers. so was the champion and death, but where was... <span style='color:yellow'>"That weird card. Jey, have you seen the weird card I drew? I cant find it anywhere here" </span>

  18. Fujjeyj paused. He shoved down the things in his hands. He stood there for a second in thought. He thought about where the card could have gone. After a moment he looked over at Uni.
"I have no idea where it would be."
He stopped what he was doing and started looking around the camp for it. It couldnt have gotten too far. It should have been just around there. He scanned the ground quickly and straitened up.
"Could it have fallen into the fire on axcident?"
He asked her, listing a paw to rub his neck.

  19. <span style='color:yellow'>"well, i dont think so. That was the ultimate fate card and so it was placed at the middle of the other four cards. unless it was actually taken out of the middle it cant have been moved 'cos the other cards were untouched."</span> An extremly scared look appeared on Uni's face as she pulled the cards back out of the deck. <span style='color:yellow'>"one... two... three..."</span> she slowly counted as she put them face down on the tree stump.

  20. Fujjeyj was begining to loose his edge. Missing fate cards, swamps of no return, and bands of bandits all in one night. He hung his head and rubed the back of his neck.

"Well I dont know what happened to it or what to do about it."

He said hopelessly. She was begining to share Uni's astonishment but he did not show it. He had already been so strongly pent on not beleaving it that to give in would be to admit some sort of weakness. He shook his head and went back to get his stuff. The sooner they were out of there the happier he would be. Besides the night was slowly slipping away.

"I dont think there is anything we can do. I think we should get moving."
