Everything had happened in a split second. The beast had jumped upon veaji Just after she had came to her senses. In that minute Shadow had frozen, his heart in his throat as he feared for the worst. The resonating sound of a bullet hit his ears as the Panther creature exploded ing a flurry of red gore. A chorus of roars and growls eminated in shadows eardrums, as one by one the larger of the pack creatures closed in on them both. hearing the thump of the body Veaji had shifted off of herself, the offered his paw as a means of support for her. As soon as she was standing and stable again he would go into his quad form, giving him an obvious speed advantage due to his wolven traits. You alright? He asked quickly, as she fortold the fact that there was more. All he could answer her with was a agreeing smile. She was hurt, which would attract more, but animal instinct would teel them to attack the stronger of the two, which right now - at least till he shed blood - was him. One more of the shadow coloured creatures, pawed forward. Dripping with anticipation as it eyed the two up.
Veaji took his paw and stood up. She was angry at herself for not noticing. How many were there? There might be dozens... even hundreds! I'm fine. she said, despite the fact that the wound on her left arm stinged alot. Her right was clutching the gun with spots of the creature's blood on it. Another of the panther-like creature stepped out from the bushes. Veaji aimed the gun at it and shot. The bullet hit it squarely in the middle of its head and it went down without even a squeak. It was then that more decided to come and soon, Veaji and Shadow were pretty much surrounded by hungry beasts, dripping saliva on the ground. Their eyes gleamed and one dared to come a little more closer. Veaji shot at it and it too, went down. The rest now made cautious moves, circling them. She pulled the trigger again but was met with only a click. She was out of bullets. Joy. she muttered sarcastically.
Shadow by now had become his quad form. Wincing at the click as the last bullet had been spent. Magic was the only means of non natural defense they had. Use your magic, just not fire, or the place will go up in flames Shadow then jumped at the nearest of the panthers, dragging it closer to them, so he could-if needed to- protect veaji. Out of Character

brain dead...eugh

Veaji put her gun away in its holster and scanned the large crowd of hungry beast. She should attack the strongest first. Half of them look stick skinny, the other half looked as if they had meals everyday in a week. Her hand was still dripping blood and if she used most of her energy in magic, she would get tired very easily. But still, she have to try. Lucky thing she has two weapons. She unseeth her sword and sliced one of the creature's head off as it took a leap towards her. Okay, never mind the strongest, she thought as another aimed for her leg. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw three or four of them aiming for Shadow. Hoping that he would be alright before the fight was over, she sliced another head and teleported a short way away from the scene, hoping to draw some of them away from her companion. Now she wished she hadn't teleport for she was feeling nauseos already. A sharp pain was felt on her back followed by a pushing force. She fell on the ground. The creature was on her back. Veaji dissapeared and reappeared behind the creature, slashing it. She mumured something under her breath and a ring of fire surrounded her, keeping away the other attackers. She then sat on the ground, and vomitted. When she look up, one of the beast had found its way in the ring.
Shadow had been occupied with the many others all reaching in for attack. The only thing that snapped him back to reality was the ringing sound of a sword being drawn. Shadow chanced a look at Veaji, and upon seeing her slice the head of the panthers, foolishly chanced a smile at her. one moment later and he yelled in agony. The panthers all jumped at once, teeth and paws slashing at his face and back. Veaji disappeared. Jaws sank into his neck and began the vicious method of strangling him. He wheezed, his eyes desperately searching for Veaji - He looked in front of him where the white dakestoe stood. no... He gasped, reconising his tribes guardian, Waiting to take him to fromina. Shadow struggled desperately, Tears escaping his eyes. He couldn't die...Veaji... she needed to be helped. The stony determination woke from his chest as he Stared at the Spirit. Heaving himself up with all his might, he slammed down the fur with a back breaking crunch. Using his Magick he covered his body with ice spikes impaling the last few. Shadow collaspsed down, watching the spirit nod with respect and disappear in a sudden wind. veaji..? Shadow looked round for her, his head darting around the area. He smelled fire. Then he saw. A ring of fire surrouned her, many of the pantheres had run off, with the instinct that fire was bad. Shadow with his new found stength galloped over to the red crackling ring and burst through it, the ice melting in an instant. Shadow formed into his dakestoe form, Causing the panther to look very surprised . A deep rumble escaped from shadow.
She remember when she was just about 10 or so when her parents decided to get her a personal trainer. A pure breed anubian, with bad temper, who thought her how to be very lady-like. It was pure pain in the behind. She can't run, she can't jump, she can't fight. So when she left her tribe, she was useless and a weakling, with only a gun to protect her. Fortunately for her, what she lacked was replaced by cunningness. She stole, she bribed, and watched dark groups in Black Market fight. It was from them that she learned how to defend herself, fight for herself. But it wasn't enough. She still needed to learn. So she asked them a favor but fled when they wanted a big price in return. Namely, herself. With no one to teach her, she learned how to watch, how to take in details on how tough pendragons fought each other. She practised what she saw and practised until it was perfected. She got herself a sword and she was ready to take on the world. She was tough. She didn't need anyone. But as she saw Shadow in the form of a white dakesto leap into the fire ring, she thought to herself that maybe she hadn't learn enough. As the beast ran away and her vision began to fade into nothingness, a voice inside her told her that she would forever be a weakling. No matter how hard she try.
As the panther ran away he turned to veaji, a doggy smile on his face. She was out for the count he realised and his smile turned upside down as he saw the injuries she had sustained. The fire had went out as she had fainted, leaving smoldering ground in iits place. Shadow shifted into his bipedal form - three large gouges now ran down his left haunch, but they never bled. Carefully he hoisted her into his arms and stopped her head lolling back deftly. She was light - and breathing. Padding over to a grand tree he had saw earlier, he placed her down under the gnarled roots. This place would provide shelter for one night. Shadow mumbled a few words as the glowing barrier appeared around her and him. He was exhausted as he shuffled her gently to the inside of the alcove , lifting her up momentarily to let her lie on his fluffy warm wing. he arranged her so she was using hias a pillow. His other wing was her blanket and automatically before the moment of sleep hit him, he nuzzled into the back of her neck and slid his arms around her waist.
Walk straight! That book is going to fall off your head. And Veaji pulled back her shoulders, walking straight after a poke in her ribs. She was young. Very young. She caught sight of herself in one of the many mirrors in the white washed room. How ridiculus, she thought. A book on her head and a line for her to walk. Her teacher was standing behind her looking tall and proud. Like all the others. Shouldn't they be already satisfied that she has all four of her limbs? Don't stare into the mirror! Pay more attention to your line! Veaji looked away from the mirror and was so tempted to look down to see the line but she remembered just in time that she had a book on her head. Then, there was a bell and her teacher was called. She heaved a sigh of relief and let the book fall to the ground. She didn't even bother to pick it up as she went to sit on the comfy chair at the corner of the room. There was a knock on the door and her mother came in. Veaji? I brought something to eat. Veaji smiled and walked towards her mother. She was about to reach for her when her mother slapped her hand away. Veaji gave a puzzled look. You killed me, Veaji. You think by running away you can get away from all this?! Now the youngen only look up at her mother in fear. No, this isn't happening. Oh, but it was as Veaji watched in horror a bullet wound on her mother's chest. She watched as the blood come out. You killed me! You murderer! She could only shake her head... ________________________________________ Her eyes snapped open. She realised she was breathing rather heavily. Then she realised, something soft and feathery. Almost like a wing. It is a wing. she thought as she looked to the ground and then at the thing that was covering her. She looked to her other side but cannot move more. Something was at the back of her neck. Only when she felt warm breath and arms around her waist did she realise where she was and what was happening. Blood rushed to her cheeks and her brain was going haywire again. But then, there was something she felt in this position. She somehow feel... safe. So she snuggled closer to Shadow, her paw on Shadow's arm, feeling more safe and secure than ever. Out of Character

Sorry for the long but useless post. I am just feeling too creative today ^_^

Shadow didnt stir from his sleep until the rising sun shone through the trees. Even then he didn't move - not that he could go far anyway. It must have been the most peacful sleep he had since leaving the tribe. Veaji was still oblivious to the world and he couldn't help but smile as a sigh of content left her sleeping form. He realised his feelings for her in that moment that they were attacked, and for once he wasn't thinking of a one night stand. Veaji made him forget the horrible world, the sorrows and the woes. Magically she could wipe the mind with laughter and joy. But it wasn't love. at least not at this early stage, but he did know that he wanted to be around her. To wake like this with her often. He wanted to cuddle and snuggle into her warm fur and most importantly, he wanted to keep her safe. But for now he would let her sleep, and when she woke he would make sure she saw a doctor and a warm meal. Out of Character

tis ok, your creativeness makes me happy! :)

The word that came into her mind when she woke up that particular day, with Shadow so close to her, was 'beautiful'. The sun's light shone through the leaves of the trees, making it as though the leaves were giving out their own light. The 'dragon next to her, beautiful. The slight breeze that blew, beautiful. The feeling she woke up with, beautiful. She nearly wanted to slap herself when she realised she sounded so corny. But, it was the truth, wasn't it? This day, this morning, this particular moment, was beautiful. She had never felt so nice before in her entire life. What was this new feeling? She turned her head to look at Shadow. There was a fleet of surprise in her face but it was gone the next moment. She had thought he was still asleep. A small smile escaped her lips as pupiless eyes met amber ones. Good morning, she murmured, still a little drowsy.
morning... Shadow said his voice still thick with sleep. A small smile playing on his face at the way this morning had turned out. Maybe love and war were more connected than people thought. how're you feeling? he then asked, looking for signs of stiffness and any possible bleeding from what he could see orsmell. Either way she needed the doctors, in case of infection and to prevent any scarring on her beautiful figure. He needed to see the doctors too, and the one he planned to go to usually had a blood supply ready for vampires.
The wound on Veaji's arm had clotted overnight. She felt a little feverish but she didn't show it. She didn't know it either. She didn't bother anyway. She had worst wounds than this. I feel fine. she replied. Then she noticed her sword was missing. Her gun was still in it's holster, but her sword was nowhere. Worried, she sat up straight, wincing in pain as she used her left arm to support herself up. Where could her sword be? She needed it. It was precious to her. She scanned the area but the search was in vain.
careful... he whispered quietly to her as she rose from her position. A paw lingered on her as she began her scann of the area. You lost somthing? He then asked seeing the worried, almost desperate expression on her face. She didn't answer him, nor seemed to actually register what he had said. He softly nudged her with his nose to get her attention. His other wing still draped over her like a soft blanket, he lifted his wing off of her, in case she tried to get up andended with a wing stuck on her holster.
No. Swords just don't dissapear like that. She remembered she left it beside her before she blacked out. Where could it be? She felt him nudge her and turned. Had he been talking to her? His wing had been lifted off her. She didn't want it to move, she wanted the warmth of it to stay. But she didn't say a thing. Her sword was still missing and she must find it. So how come she isn't up and going? She was still staring at Shadow, a million thoughts running through her head. Snapping out of it, she said,Shadow, my sword... did you see it? Her eyes returned to scanning the area, double checking it. Surely, it must be somewhere. She rose to her feet in bipedal form. She felt a little dizzy but brushed it away. It was beside me the last I was using it. I fell asleep after that. She barely realised she was staggering, trying to get her footing. Why was the day so warm? Where was her sword anyway? There were ashes on the ground, the place where she had fire surround her. But her sword was nowhere in sight. And the world keeps spinning... spinning... She sat on the ground, trying to stop the world from spinning.
She was panicking, stumbling around. She wasn't well... standing wasn't the best of her ideas. She seemed so frantic. Her wounds had clotted at least, but she still didn't seem one hundred percent. Shadows brow furrowed, as she stumbled again, hopefully she ws just stiff. Looking at the ground they were lying on he saw a glint of metal. Her sword. Veaji, look it- Shadow stared at her as she slumped to the ground, with her sword in hand he jumped up despite the raging pain in his haunch, and rushed to her side. His paw instantly went to support her and he quickly scooped her up in his arms. During of which he also placed her precious sword in her hands and clasped her paw around the hilt. we're going into town... you're ill he stated simply between painful breaths as his wound bled freely, bravely he began to trudge to the hospital, which unbeknown to them was barely ten minutes walk from here. Unfortuneately for them the panther type creatures had been prowling on the outskirts for food.
Her hand tightened around the hilt of her sword. She never want to let it go. She cannot lose it. Her other hand, the one which hung around Shadow's neck for support, pulled her closer to him. She froze at the word 'town'. Town? No, we can't go there. she said. She didn't tell him why though. She was just running away from civilization to get some peace, and of course, the many pendragons she stole possesions from. She said no more when she smelt blood. In her half-awake state, she asked, Shadow are you bleeding? Stop. Put me down. You can't walk like this. _________________________________________ Somewhere nearby, a scout of the panther-like creature had been following the blood trail.
We're going to town, veaji, and i'm not putting you down. Don't think i can anyway. Shadow added, the smell of his blood hungering him, yet the pain was constraining him to act upon it. Luckily for him. no-one will touch you in town... was his final addition to his words in case there was further reasons for reluctance from her. He needed to feed, and the doctor he knew was a friend as such. He shifted veaji in his arms propping her higher up on him so to spread - her already light- weight. The blood was now pooling as they stopped for a "chat" will you let me take you then? He asked if only out of sheer politeness to her feelings and pride. His eye caught sight of the blood pol and he clasped his eyes shut and moved his wing forward so she wouldn't see it. HE waited patiently for an answer.
Shadow, I appreciate your helping me to the town because I'm currently incapable of doing so. But my nose doesn't deceive me that you're bleeding madly. At least get something as a torniquet to stop the bleeding and we can be on our way. she told him, staring him in the eyes. Or where she thought were his eyes. There were actually two of him now. She momentarily shut her eyes and opened them again. I can wait, I'm not in a serious condition. she lied. Now put me down and get a torniquet. ________________________________________ Upon seeing the couple, it ran another way. Its pack weren't far off. Two pendragons would not suffice such a pack but it was at least enough for the stronger ones.
Shadow looked at Veaji, clearly thinking it through. She appeared to be slipping in and out of conciousness which was a worry, but the blood could attract predators. fine. He sighed giving into her, carefully he placed her down, the tree propping her up. There was a patch of lush grass nearby, long and thick stranded, hopefully it could be used to staunch the flow till they reached town. i'll be back in a second, ok veaji? And with that he scurried off into the bush grabbing some grass on the way to sort out his wound in private. He didn't like to be watched when tending to himself.
She nodded and was glad he had set her down. For one, his blood was driving her sensitive nose insane and for another, she actually cared for him. She laugh softly to herself. Had it been months and seasons ago, she would have said it was impossible for her to care about anyone. But here she was, worried for a friend. Friend. It was a weird word, but it brought a little fuzzy feeling inside her. While she was completating all her feelings and recent events, she did not notice the dark creatures lurking nearer and nearer each passing second. So strong was the scent of blood in her nose that she failed to notice another strange scent coming from the foes. They, however, were delighted by the scent of blood and crept even nearer, hunger urging them to be bold. It was her ears that perked up and alerted her of the danger that was to come. Her hand was still clutched tightly around the hilt of her sword and she brought it closer to her, getting ready to strike. She feigned helplessness and when one so dared to come quite near, she poked it right through its eye with the sharp point of her blade. Its howl was loud and sounded only of agony. The sound of it however, did not discourage the rest of the pack and so she found herself surrounded by the many panther-like creatures. Some were growling, some was just baring teeth. She uttered something in Anubian and immediately after, a blast of wave spreaded out and knocked all of them off their feet. She could do no more as she was weak and the spell had taken most of her energy. Her vision returned to its blurry state and she tried to focus as her foes regained their footing. Which shall she make howl now?
