Alamu blushed, giving Averin a wide-eyed, too innocent look. "What do you mean?" She asked, smiling in spite of herself as she struggled to keep a straight face, not noticing she'd already given herself away. She wasn't going to ask for a picture of the two of them there. That wasn't the kind of thing she wanted to put up on her wall. Maybe somewhere a little more romantic.
Averin noticed that she was blushing, but tried to hide under her innocent smile. Confused on what she want or was thinking about drove him a little out of the boat. He was curious on what she was thinking about. “Hiding under that smile isn’t going to help you. What are you thinking about?” he asked again.
Alamu's smile widened and she carefully laid out the money for dinner on the table, leaning over to wink at Averin. "You'll have to catch me if you want to find out." Thus said, she leapt over the railing to the patio where they'd been eating, weaving into the crowd. A little ways away, she turned around, waving when she caught sight of Averin.
Averin gets up and watched her run through the crowded pathway. She’s evil, but I love her no matter what. He pondered through his mind. He jumped over the rail and chased after her amongst the crowd. The crowd was thick as he weaved between them to find Alamu. When he finally caught up with her, he leapt into the air to tackle her.
Alamu squeaked as she was tackled, giggling happily. She pushed herself to her feet, moving to grab his hand and drag him through the crowd as she grinned. "Come on, I know the perfect spot to get a picture taken!" She looked over her shoulder, giving a smile just for him.
Averin was about to nuzzle her, but was too late as she got up. As she grabbed his hand and dragged him through the crowd. I wonder where she’s taking me? He pondered over the thought as he saw the scenery changed as the crowd dimmed down. When she looked over her shoulder and gave him a smile, he couldn’t help, but look away with a light blush and a small smile. “Alamu, where exactly are you taking me?” he asked with a curious tone.
Alamu just smiled at his question, stopping in front of the gates to one of the city's parks. "Here we are." She smiled, tilting her head to look at him happily. "This is my favorite place in Aurius." Cuddling a little closer to him, she gazed up, waiting for him to speak.
Averin saw her just smile at him as they stopped in front of some gates to a park. He looked around at the park wondering which park they’re at. “I can see why this place can be you favorite. So, you want to take a picture here... Cool. Where we going to take it here?” he asked curiously. He moved his right hand around her back and held her close to him. He used his other hand to guide her mouth to his to kiss her. “This is a memorial moment that should be treasured.” Averin muttered to Alamu.
Alamu closed her eyes as he kissed her, sighing softly. Opening them again, green swirls gazed into his eyes and she nodded to his words. Digging the camera out of her bag, She turned her back to the park and held it up, tucking herself close to Averin. "Smile." She gave him a moment before standing on her tip-toes to kiss his cheek, at the same time snapping the picture and hoping she got a good one. Sticking her tongue out at him playfully, she looked down at the picture, tilting it so he could see, too. After a moment she spoke again. "Would you like to go home?"
It felt as if the world was moving slowly through that kiss. Averin watched Alamu as she looked in her bag for the camera she showed him earlier. He felt her move closer to him once she got it out and held it up and pointed at them. Hearing Alamu say smile made him grin, everything about Alamu made Averin happy to have this moment with her and only her. When he noticed she kissed his cheek was when the camera snapped the photo of it. Laughing that he didn’t see it coming till it was too late. His amber eyes stared at her when she stuck her tongue at him playfully, which told him that she was teasing him. He gave her a smirk as he viewed the photo. It was good, better than any photo Averin ever taken. As soon as she asked if he would like to go home made him smile as his hand advanced to move Alamu’s head to face him. “That would be lovely.” He said just before he pressed his lips to hers softly before his eyes looked into her emerald swirly eyes.
Alamu turned her head willingly toward him, smiling as he spoke. Before she could answer, he kissed her and she sighed, closing her eyes again. It was so good to be here, with him, after so long apart. She'd never let him go again. Standing for a moment after the kiss, she slowly opened her eyes and offered an even brighter smile than before. "Let's go." She said softly, sliding her hand into his and taking a very slow step back, almost reluctant to leave his embrace.
This was the life Averin always wanted even though it was hidden with his obsession with taking down his brother, but it had its cost on his body and emotions as gained scars that could never be healed. Nearly losing his life, he would never experience this thrill of having Alamu as a lover. Averin loved her so much and did want to let her go, but they do need some space. Smiling happily at her as she gave him a big pretty smiled as she told him to get going as she slipped away from him, but didn’t let go of his hands while Alamu took small steps almost as if she didn’t want to leave his grasp. Averin smiled as he moved with her wrapping his arm around her lower back as his tail coiled up with one of her tails. His jacket swayed with the little breeze they had. Moving his big bat-like wing across her back and over her shoulder to keep her warm. “Hey Alamu, I’ve been wondering… what will I do now? I mean after all, I won’t be leaving anytime soon.” He said curious on what Alamu’s answer would be.
Alamu smiled again as he embraced her, winding her second tail around his and leaning into his side. She never wanted to leave him again; there was nothing worse than the pain she'd felt with his disappearance, and now that he was back she would make sure to follow him to the ends of the earth if she had to just to stay by his side. Hunching her shoulders against the slight breeze and glad for his wing around her shoulders, she tilted her head back a little, smiling up at him. She laughed at his question, nudging his side playfully. "You'll stay with me, of course! We can do whatever you want to do, Averin. Set a goal and I'll help you reach it." She smiled, her gaze far-away as she enjoyed his embrace, waiting for his answer. She would do anything for him; he'd done so much for her, it was the least she could do.
Averin was very happy to be with Alamu as they head toward where she lived. The slits in his eye slimmed down when he glanced at her and focused onto her radiant face. Letting his body heat warm her from the cool wind as each step they took was simultaneously, which made Averin giggle on the inside. He was thinking about what he wanted to do now with Alamu by his side. When she playfully nudged his side near under his wing, he chuckled with a jolt almost making then both collapse, but Averin maintain his balance hold her to ensure she didn’t fall face first. Once they were organized and headed to her apartment, which was just ahead of him or it was what Averin could make out that was her apartment. He gave her a blushed when his idea as his eyes looked at her hoping she wouldn’t notice his red streak across his cheeks.
Alamu giggled as they stumbled a bit, winding her arm around his waist to help keep her own balance. Now if she fell, at least she'd drag him with her. She smiled as the apartment came into view, looking up at him with a smile. Curiousity bloomed when she noticed the red flush on his cheeks, another smile teasing the corners of her mouth. "Averin? Do you have an idea?" He must have, if he was embarrassed. She pulled away a little when they reached the door, unlocking it carefully and pushing it open, leading him inside. It was a small apartment, only a two bedroom though she'd converted the second into a work-room for herself. There was a kitchen to the left, and a sparsely furnished living room--a coffee table and a couch, with a wall of bookshelves across from them. She didn't have a TV, but if Averin wanted one she thought she had enough to get one. "Welcome home." She said quietly, smiling at him.
When she asked what was on his mind from his previous flush made him go from green to scarlet. Averin was slightly relieved they made it to her apartment before saying what his idea was. Just as she slipped away to unlock and open the door before leading him into her crib. It was quite nice for an average home, a little spacey for an apartment that Averin has been in. He scanned the new environment from corner to corner. The living room was basic with a soft padded sofa, a white ivory coffee table and one wall filled with books on shelves. A small kitchen with what appears to be marble counters, a stove, refrigerator, and plastic cabinets. His guess was that since one of the bedrooms were made into a work room of some sort the other was her bedroom, which would probably meant he would have to sleep on the couch or something. Averin turned his attention to Alamu with a sweet grin when she mentioned the welcome home, which made him chuckle. It was rather homey and he was glad to be out of the woods and inside an actual domestic home. “Wow… this is nice Alamu.” He said to her with a smile before he moved to press his lips to hers. After that he observed the area once again to get a feel of it. However his thought lingered around within his mind, which made him wonder if this was the right time to ask or was it too soon. “To answer your previous question, I do have an idea, but I don’t know if it’s appropriate at the given moment.” Averin told her with his golden eyes locked on her.
She set her bag down on the coffee table, smiling back at Averin. "The couch pulls out into a bed, so you should be comfortable out here, or you can take my room. I usually end up on the couch anyway." She'd decided to do something useful with her skills, and becoming a natural healer had been easy. Her second bedroom had been turned into an herb storage area, with bunches of the most useful plants hanging from the ceiling and bins filled with more of them lining the walls. It was surprising how many 'dragons prefered natural remedies to actual medicine; she was making a good living for herself. She went back to him, smiling at the compliment. "Yeah, it is, isn't it? I thought it would be the perfect place to start over." She tilted her head up just in time to be kissed, closing her eyes and sighing softly. This was perfect; he was finally here, after all the time she'd spent wishing he'd come back. Wishes really could come true, she supposed. Opening her eyes again to lock them onto his golden gaze. She tilted her head, confused, and blinked up at him, frowning slightly. "Go ahead and tell me anyway. I'm sure it's alright." She coaxed, smiling again in encouragement.
It was good to have Alamu back in his arms like this; he now knew how much he truly missed this feeling he had with her. Although he was happy and thinking of how there life will be now that one thought lingered in the back of his mind. The best idea would to say it and just get it off his chest, but what if it offends her. He didn’t want her upset or hurt after being so happy from his return. This was a hard choice to choose from, but he knew the best option was to tell her and hope for the best. Her encouraging smile told him to say his idea. “Well I was thinking I could settle down and have a family.” Averin said with a blushing smiled as he looked into her eyes to see how she’ll react to that thought.
Alamu blinked again as he spoke, frozen for a moment as she processed the idea before a blush crossed her cheeks. "You could." She agreed, smiling back at him as she tucked her hair behind her ear. It was unexpected, to say the least, but not unwelcome; they'd grown up together, and she loved him. It was only natural that they would follow that path eventually. Tilting her head back to smile at him, she leaned up to brush her lips against his, leaning her head against his chest and giggling gently. "We'll need a bigger home." Her little apartment would do for now, but when they finally did set about having a family, they would need more room.
Averin smiled at her as she processed his idea over in her mind, but the flush across her face made him smile softly even before she said her remark to it. He was glad she did shun it away or retaliate against it. She was just caught off guard with his request of what he wanted to do now since his brother was gone. Surprised when she moved close without realizing it till their lips touched then departed as she rested her head on his chest giggling. What so funny; he wondered before listening to her comment on the house being too small for the idea, which in fact it was true. This place was only good for two or three dragons, not a family. Shocked from remembering what she said about the bed and couch. Placing his hand to her sides before kissing her once again before smiling. Moving his head next to her ear to whisper to her as their bodies touched. “You can have the bed love, I’ll have the couch.” Averin said before hugging her close to him. After that he moved to the sofa and sat down to relax from the tiring trip he had when he was away.
