Aurora walked nervously up to the main register.

Demori's attention was rather divided, between keeping an eye on Laz, and working on her own things. There was only so much that she could do, though, and, for the majority, her focus was on the papers before her. If he wanted to do something, she'd know before he had a real chance to execute any stunt. Her mind was close enough to his that any such thoughts should ring a bell in her mind, after all. She had long since learned to pay attention to such jangling in her mind, and would probably be able to halt the youngster in any case. Though getting on in age, she was stronger, by far, then most gave her credit for. Athletically inclined as she was, and with her trades, it was something that came as second nature.

She was a bit surprised when he passed them back, and spoke. Hart quirked a brow, and looked down at the chosen classes. All were open, so she merely nodded in acceptance, and tilted her head a bit. His words seemed to suggest he had no preference to dorms. She pulled the sheet towards her, and asked the inevitable, anyways, choosing a room if he said he didn't care, merely so she'd be ready. "I presume you have no preference, but I don't like to go on presumptions. So, have you any preference for dorming. Who you dorm with, or something?"

  2. The male 'dragon looked squarely into the eyes of Hart, and then shrugged. He didn't know anybody... he had just gotten to the academy, and traipsed into the front foyer but a scant moment before he came in sight of the large building. He'd met Taydran, but he wasn't sure what he felt about the cocky male. No, best to just add an element of mystery to the whole situation. When things were left up to chance it was more exciting, anyway... Smiling, he told Hart, "No, I've not had a chance to meet anybody. Mayhap if you could pair me up, I would get a chance to meet somebody new."

Laz tossed his purple headfur in annoyance out of his crystalline orbs. He looked out of the window. The Janardan campus was overcast and cold that day, but still quite pretty. He couldn't wait to be out in the nippy air, sparring with the other students. The crisp Tessera weather was putting him in an aggresive, high-energy mood. He slid his claws from his paws, and then pulled them back in.

Tail-flame flickering, he looked at Hart for her answer.

  3.

Hart always had trouble placing newcomers in dorms. If they didn't care where they went, then it was difficult to find one that would suit them. After all, some personalites clashed. It didn't matter, ultimately, since they could always change dorms later, but it was a tiny bit of a hassle to shift them, too. They didn't usually end like that, but she never left the possibility out. Eyes flickered to the window, for a moment, watching the Courtyard with unfocused eyes. She saw, but didn't see, what was going on outside. Her thoughts were elsewhere, even as she observed various occurances that were actually rather routine. Playing youngsters, walking teachers, and various others that were either visiting, or would soon come in to bother her. If they wanted to do the latter, they'd run into quite a bit of trouble, since she was pretty busy, at the moment, and planned to eat after she was done with Laz.

The words of the new student caused her to turn her head back towards him, a thin smile on her lips. She nodded a bit, and considered the dorm paper once more, before penning in his name in one of the empty ones. It was better to fill up, but she would prefer to shift him later, if he did find someone he wanted to bunk up with. Nodding, she unlocked the key drawer, and pulled out the appropriate key. Sending it across the desk, towards the young pendragon, the Principal nodded a bit, and smiled in a friendly enough manner. "Here is the key to your dorm room. It's not got another in it, yet, but I can put someone in there later, or you can find someone you want to room with... Is that all?" She inquired, tilting her head a bit in inquiry.

  4. Eagerly the male extended a paw to take the key from Hart. Here it is, Laz... the key to the beginning of your experience here at Janardan... He blinked. Did I just think that?! Shaking his head at his own cheesiness, he examined the key. Just a normal one, silver, with a little tag on it that read, ROOM 430. But still. He lived on his own now... An independant 'dragon with his own space to take care of. A total new level of responsibility, really, but Laz was ready for it. He hoped.

A wave of excitement washed over him... He was totally free now! Well, not totally... he still had school and homework and the like. But now he had almost free run of the school and campus. And he was in control now. Free to meet people, sign up for things... And maybe have a real family. A family of friends.

"Thank you, Hart! And that's it... I'll contact you if I want anything else, though."

And with that, the 'dragon, acting much younger than his 17oo years, bounded out the door of the office, taking no care now to think about the lock he'd picked. To the dorms.
