Kae followed him relunctantly. She didn't like leaving Rachel. Nah, not really. I was just looking around as I flew As they entered the forest, she looked around, trying to remember. {This way} She telepathed, turning towards the left. {Left} She telepathed a few moments later. She could fell that they were getting closer, they had to be. Another turn and, hopefully ... {Stop ! Here they are ...}
Rachel licks her lips a bit as she lies there in the sun feeling as if nothing can mess with her. A sudden shock comes over her as she opens her eyes then lifts her head up from the rock slowly. Turns to the forest back over towards her home as she sees the flying of many Aktrieor from there. Glares slightly as she watches them fly off and sniffs the air slowly. "I hope...their all right...", sits there continuing her observation of the flock as they fly off to somewhere.
Nelson nodded. { Heh, good enough... } He followed her in complete silence. He never allowed himself to step on a twig or dry leaves. Hearing Kae's final telepathed message, he hopped into the clearing in which the Rheyants grazed peacefully and pounced onto the largest one he saw - probably leading male of the group. His weight pinned it down and with a swift slash to the face, the Rheyant fell, blinded and unable to retaliate in any manner. He watched it squeal and out of pity, kicked it in the gut powerfully...He was pretty mad his slash in the face didn't kill it. Poor Nelson did usually eat seafood anyways...{ Haha..I think it's dead now. } He smiled nervously at Kae.
Rachel closed her eyes for a short moment and attempted to reach out to Nelson and Kae. (Hey you guys? If you can hear me I need you to come back to the mountain as soon as you can. I feel a little uneased at the time. If you are getting I need you to come back to the mountain.) Opens her eyes and looks back and notices that the flock of Aktrieor was gone out in the distances. She stands up from the rock and jumps down off of it then heads back to the path that leads up the mountain then waits there for their return.
Nelson sat down and listened to Rachel's telepath. He raised a paw to his chin and rubbed the side of his face with his thumb. { Sure, we got a Rheyant. What's wrong? We're on our way. } Nelson turned and looked at Kae with a raised eyebrow. "I wonder what this is all about. Let's eat by the beach..better scenery there anyways, right?" Nelson wondered why Rachel seemed so uneasy in her telepath. Is this forest safe? Hm..well I suppose if Rachel cared for us, she wouldn't have even let us come in. Or maybe she would have at least warned us about any dangers. If she cared. He shook off the thought and hoped Kae agreed on getting out of the forest.
Kae would have liked to kill aswell, but one Rheyant was more than enough for the both of them and she didn't like wasting. She didn't understand why Nelson hadn't gone for the throat, thus killing the animal instantly and rather painlessly. Perhaps he isn't very experienced. Or maybe he likes killing... She shuddered at that last thought. Upon recieving Rachel's telepath she grew a little uneasy . Yeah ... Let's go back. I wonder what's the matter? Her tlepath was anything but reassuring.
Back by the mountain area, Rachel paces back and forth waiting on the others to return. Wonders if either one of them recieved her message. I hope that they're all right and nothing has happened. She shook the though from her head as she continued to pace back and forth from worry.
OOC: Sorry I haven't posted in so long! It's been terrible living without RaL, or the internet for that matter. x_X;; But I'm back. BIC: With one final kick, the Rheyant, lying on it's side, died. Nelson shook his head with a raised eyebrow. "Alright." He softly close his jaws over the back of his prey's neck and dragged it between his two front legs as he walked behind Kae. At least we aren't leaving empty-handed. He was happy he had managed to show Kae he could catch his own prey, and was eager to share it with her. He hoped she was impressed...His land hunting abilities weren't too adept because he was so used to catching fish.
OOC: Welcome Back !! BIC: - Wait, let me help you carry it. We'll go faster that way. I didn't help in the killing, how can I expect him to carry it back, too. She quickly came behind him, knelt nd picked the dead animal's two hind legs in her mouth. She was quite amazed at his strenght, never would she have been able to kill it that way, she just didn't possess the strenght. She'd have gone for the throat, sunken her sharp teeth deep under the tender skin... W'dyu tin i' wron'? Realising that it was virtually impossible to speak while carrying the reyhant she telepathed, first to Nelson: { What d'you think is wrong ? } Then to Rachel: { We're coming, what's the matter, is anything wrong? } She suddenly stopped walking, noticing something in he sky. Something she didn't like seeing. Ne'on, l'k ! She dropped the Reyhant's legs and repeated, fearfully: Nelson, look ! Her head was pointing to the sky where large white and black forms were flying, just above their heads.
"Thnks"...He couldn't speak any better than she could, with a mouthful of bristly fur and tender, muscular flesh. { Heh, makes you wonder. I have no idea what could be wrong. This place is so peaceful... } He continued his leisurely walk down toward the beach beside Kae. Then, when she spoke out loud and saw her look to the sky, he immediately dropped his prey. She repeated herself without the Rheyant's legs in her mouth, but he was already ensuring a powerful grip on the dead Rheyant's scruff and ran. Whatever those things were, he ran, knowing that must have been why Rachel had been telling them to return to the beach. Nelson kept his head low as he ran with the heavy prey in his jaws. He struggled at first, but as he got a steady, quick pace, dragging the prey was easy. He knew Kae was right behind him, he heard her thumping footsteps resounding right from behind.
Rachel picks up on Kae's telepath message back to her tehn shakes her head as she looks back towards the sky. Growls heavily then dashes away from the beach into the woods searching for the two as she goes. If something was to happen to them both I would never forgive myself. Picks up the pace as she scales tree sides continuing on their way through the woods. As she nears the other side of the woods she comes out into a clearing where every direction was visiable. Looked up towards the skies and those large black and white forms begin to fall towards the earth. Doing a prey attack to claim food as it seems. Rachel looks back out onto the land and noticed Kae and Nelson moving at a quicking pace. Looks back to the creatures then roars out to the other ones as she runs out into the field then one of the beast drop down super fast to intercept Kae. As the beast neared where Kae was running Rachel blasted up from the ground and collided with he beast causing it to cry out in pain and crash to the ground with Rachel lying beside it.
Nelson almost crashed into the creature that fell from the sky as Rachel crashed into it. He stopped and his jaw dropped, thus making the Rheyant fall to the ground. He backed away from the injured...thing and said, "Sweeeeet..what _is_ that???" Keeping his distance, he examined it. It was something he'd never seen before.. Nelson hoped Kae wasn't injured because she was lying down beside the creature. But he couldn't bring himself to approach it. It was at least double his size, and had claws that could slice him in half in one swipe. And besides, it had been chasing Kae and him..so Nelson wasn't about to trust the half-conscious animal.
As Kae's eyes flutterd open, she felt a wave of pain flowing through her body and cried out weakly. She closed her eyes again, almost hoping that that would help take the pain away. But it didn't, and as the seconds ticked away, her anguish grew. She tried to locate the origin of the pain and decided the one of her legs must be badly injured, broken even. She couldn't quite remeber where she was and even less what had just happened to her. She opened her eyes again, and lifted her head to try and see her surroundings. She almost jumped, and would have, had she been able to, when she saw the Aktrieor 's large white body besides her. She raised her head even higher so as to see above the creatue's massive body and met Nelson's eyes. She smiled wealky but it eneded up looking like a grimace. She then closed her eyes again and let her head fall back onto the ground, praying for the pain to go away.
Rachel groans lightly as she places her forepaws against the ground then lifting herself up slowly. Shakes her head slowly then looked to the unconious beast then to Kae that laid on the other side of it. Rises up onto her feet completely and moves over to the other side of the beast to Kae then reaches down with her jaws and gently placing her mouth over the scruff of Kae's neck. With ease Rachel begins to pull Kae away from the beast over to where Nelson resides. Releases her there beside Nelson then looks up to him slowly. "We...have to get back to the mountains where...we can hide." Rachel winces in pain as she rose up onto her hide legs and stood upright like a man. A fine scent of blood came from Rachel's underside as she rose up on her hide legs. She then kneels down and picks Kae up in her arms then turns slowly towards the mountains. Bends her legs a bit then dashes off in a easy pace as she head towards the mountains.
In agreement, Nelson nodded. It was just then Nelson realized how injured Kae was. He wanted to carry her, but standing on his hind legs and running was not one of his strong points. But Nelson waited, pondering on what to do with the Aktreior. Kae would need food while she was nursed back to health..But there was no way Nelson was about to kill this creature...it was going to wake up any second. But the Rheyant would not be enough to sustain the three. "Rachel!! What should we do about this bird? It's gonna come after us if we don't kill it.."
Rachel comes to a sliding stop and looks down on Kae then sighs. Winces a bit and looks over her shoulder at Nelson and the Aktreior. "There is no way that the damn bird will follow us...it is to injuried to fly anyhow." Pops her neck then shakes her head as she continues on her way to the mountains but stop short at the enterance of the woods. "It is going to end up dying anyhow, so just leave it alone and comeon!" Leans back against a tree watching Nelson from afar as he dewells on the fact if he should kill it or not.
Considering what Rachel had said, Nelson took a step away from the bird, and the caught up with her. Slightly apprehensive, he talked again. "Man, I'm not so sure about that. Sure, it may not fly, but did you see the legs on that thing? You only managed to break its wing, and maybe a couple of ribs..." But Nelson shook that thought off and followed her with the Rheyant in his jaws. He was awfully hungry..all this running around was exhausting him, especially with a 30 pound animal in your jaws.
Comes to the mountains and looks up towards the skies from the trees before heading out into the open. Gazes over her shoulder at Nelson then nodded then headed out into the open over towards the mountains. Rachel drops dwon behide a large rock that provided cover then sets down Kae there gently then leans back against the rocky surface wincing in pain slightly. Reaches her paw down and places it against her side covering the bloody wound there. "Let us rest here before we head up the mountain to the cave...", closes her eyes and leans her head back and sighs heavily as she sits there.
Nelson dropped the carcass hastily as Rachel stopped behind the boulder. Panting, he collapsed in a heap. His jaws were numb from carrying so much weight for so long. He was the only one now who wasn't injured..So he supposed he'd be doing the hunting alone now. "Kae, Rachel..eat this Rheyant. You guys won't be able to hunt for a few days now..and I can't bring down too much prey alone. How many opportunities will we get?" He peered over the boulder, his ears held low beside his head. The aktrieor still lay in the field, writhing slightly. By now, Nelson had caught his breath and only could do one thing..go hunt down the hunter. He leaped over the rock and jogged towards the oversized turkey at a steady pace, his head low to the ground. As Nelson approached, the aktrieor scrambled to it's feet. He snarled, and the tall bird of prey shrieked a threat. It stumbled, backing away as it winced in pain, its left wing held away from its body. Nelson took this as an opportunity to pin it down before it ran away. His claws unsheathed into the bird's feathery body. This enraged the bird very much..its legs kicked furiously at Nelson, but he escaped, barely missing a fatal kick to the ribs. Nelson was tiring again..so he moved in for a quick kill, watching for the claws and hooked beak with a swift snap to the bird's throat. With one final shriek, the bird ceased its helpless writhing and breathed its last. After resting a few minutes, Nelson pridefully dragged the dead bird by the wing back to where Kaelarah and Rachel were. "I guess the threat's gone now. We don't need to worry anymore..about being hunted, or about starving." Satisfied, Nelson tore a leg off the aktrieor and ate it as the sun went down.
Rachel looked over at Nelson out the corner of her eye and away from him as he feasted upon the leg of thee huge bird. Shook her head slowly and drew her paw back from her side looking at the blood that covered her light blue furred paw. I wish what you say is true Nelson. But the truth behide it all is that those birds will get revenge anyway they can. Licks the blood from her paw then looked back up at the skies. Noticed as the sun was dying down, the Blood Moon rose and casted it's elegant rays down upon the green forest and dried grasses changing them to a red colour. Rachel reached her free paw over and placed it on the cheek of the injuried Kae and caresses it gently as her eyes shifted from the soft green colour to a deep red colour. "Comeon Nelson...lets get Kae and these beast up into the cave before it gets to late." Rachel looks over at Nelson and Grinned slightly as she rose up from the ground with Kae in her arms. Then grabs up the beast that he offered her and Kae, throwing it onto her shoulder. Turns away from Nelson and walks over towards the sea that faced out away from the mountains and walked to the edge of the beach. Looks up towards the cliffs that she and Kae used to get out into the sea then walked over towards them.
