1. OOC: Hey... can someone who knows the recorder switch over to... like... the oboe or something? 'Cause the oboe's kinda cool. 'N' stuff.

    IC:

    "I think that's a good idea," Kaeus told Nafel in approval of the idea that this should be their last song. He felt a bit sick to his stomach, and very embarassed. He wanted to go hide somewhere and throw up. Too many people had had there eyes on him, too many people watching. It made him incredibly uncomfortable. Two or three people he could handle, but a courtyard full of them? His solitary dorm felt like a stronghold to him right now, and he wished for nothing more than to be there, locking all those prying eyes out.

    But he played the song through, the rocking melody of the lute lifting out of his bit of nausea. It was great to be playing with someone so talented, but next time he'd like to do it somewhere more private. Somewhere he was safe.

  2. OOC: Hm... I don't know. ^_^;;

    BIC: The last notes of the song ended, the cords resounded in the air. Nafel gave a small "bow" of her head, and the students went back to their work. She took a cloth and polished the lute, loosened the strings so to not warp the frame, and placed it on her knee. As she polished, the lute took on a warm glow, like amber, almost. She looked to Kaeus and spoke.

    "Hey, are you OK? You kind've freaked out during that last song..." He had seemed fine untill the last few songs, and then he seemed to have gotten really scared. What was it about the last few that had been different from the first. Suddenly, it dawned on her. There had only been a few people watching the first songs, but there had been at least 10 watching the last two. She paused, and an expression of worry altered her delicate features. "Oh... You're not afraid of crowds are you? Oh, I'm so sorry!" She wrung her paws, as she had not meant to cause harm to her friend.

  3. Kaeus finished playing the song, the last few chords of sound resounding through the courtyard, finally dissipating into the ambient noise. Like clockwork he began to go through his routine, removing the capo that noosed the guitar's neck, pulling the strap over his head, placing the guitar gently down in its velvet-lined hard black case, closing the lid and doing every latch with a click click click click. He was aware that Nafel was talking at him, but all he wanted to do now was go away. He wasn't angry or depressed, just incredibly embarassed. He couldn't believe he'd flipped out like that. And by her words, neither could the brilliantly aquamarine pendragoness.

    "Oh... You're not afraid of crowds are you? Oh, I'm so sorry!"

    "Yeah, no, it's okay," he sputtered, a jumble of words flying from his mouth. "I'm..." he started, slowing down, "just not a people person, I guess. So don't worry about it. It's not your fault." He did his best to smile at Nafel to show that he had no hard feelings against her.

  4. Nafel nodded at the comment. Until coming to Janardian, she had been just like Kaeus. She had hardly spoken to anyone, and jumped like a Terran Jackrabbit any time someone spoke to her. She had vastly improved since coming here, but she still knew what it was like. She couldn't believe that she hadn't spotted it earlier, however.

    "Good then. Hey..."

    Her ears pricked as she streched her wings and looked at the timetracker on the Janardian building.

    "Are you on break? How about we go to the cafeteria and get something to eat?"

    She figured Nurano was OK with it, as he was nodding in approval.

    Good thought. It would calm him down, I think. Nurano's dark brown eyes were covered half-way by his ebony lids, he seemed to be drifting off. A cool breeze swept the grounds and Nafel wiggled her toes in pleasure, sighing at the good weather.
