Stryx couldn't help but shudder at Morbid's grin, but he quickly pulled himself together. "I'm not picky, I'll take pretty much anything you offer." he said, running a hand through his bangs, "As long as it's a fair deal." he added. Still slightly unnerved he turned to the vivairium's stacked against the wall. He opened one of the large tanks. Inside a gray, white and black snake lay under a small heat lamp. Stryx gently picked up the male. It was his favorite snake, an even-tempered creature named Harlequin. Stryx slung him around his shoulders, stroking his smooth scales. Holding Harlequin always calmed him down... Stryx got a carrying box for Morbid, opening it up in preparation for it to recieve it's cargo. He also retrieved a care sheet and the males info sheet. Male 2 silver-bloodred-light copper-striped-irregular FA-EA-DE-vu-ts "Here." he said simply, offering the items to Morbid.
Reaching forward, Morbid took the box first. It was a bit difficult to hold the box while getting the snake inside with only two thumbs, but she managed to slide him in with little difficulty. Closing the top carefully, she then reached out for the papers, slipping them in a carry pouch that was currently buckled around her waist. "Anthing, huh?" she muttered, rummaging around in her pouch until she found a small, glass vial. In it was a greenish, pasty substance; the mashed mouth and water of the asuran plant. They were exceedinly hard to find, and Morbid had only discovered this one earlier in the day. She was confident she could find more, though. "This is from the asuran plant. It can cure infant illnesses in pendragons and animals. Might come in handy if any of your little guys get sick."
Dade grinned, and waved as he took his leave. The poor guy was being bombarded with requests for snakes and had plenty to do at the momentÂ…
Mara noticed one of the 'dragons was sneaking out the door. He gave a small wave, so she waved back and mouthed, "Have a nice day." Morbid gave Mara a slight feeling of emptyness. She almost wanted to feel sorry for her, but she had no idea why.. She looked up when Morbid handed Styrx the vile. Then she put a very confused look on her she explained what was in the vile. Her sad excuses for ears only caught some words. Like "infant" "pendragon" and "illness". Her confused look increased. She couldn't be suggesting.. Her and.. Then she relaxed as she heard the rest of the explaination. Amaranth shook her head and laughed a little bit as she handed the flitter back to it's owner. She snuck up behind Styrx and poked in him in the back. "I'ma go out in the hall and have a smoke," she said in a whisper, "feel free to peek out if you need anything." She went over to her bed and grabbed her lighter and dwendelling pack of cigarettes and headed out into the hall.
Stryx gave Dade a small wave before excepting the small vile. He held it up under the light, tipping it back and forth; watching the contents swish from end to end. "Thanks," he said, tucking the vial into one of his pockets, "It might come in handy later." He nodded slightly to Mara as she hurried off into the hall. He could go for a smoke himself, but forced the notion out of his mind. Instead he worried the small stud stuck through his tongue.
Out of Character

Srry 4 the late post!!

Thi smiled and gestured towards the small tan creature flitting about the room. -The only unspoken for Flitter from my last clutch.- she announced happily wanting a smoke herself. But while creatures were in her vicinity she wouldn't.
Stryx took a look at the small tan bird, and nodded. "Deal." he said hurriedly. He started edging for the door, pulling out a half-empty carton of cigarettes as he went. He could wait outside in the hall to see if anyone else was interested in his snakes... He need a smoke, NOW. He lit up as he exited the door of the room, plopping down just outside the doorway and leaned against the wall.
Mara laughed a bit as she saw Stryx scramble for his carton and quickly make a deal with the only remaining pendragon in the room. She took a drag and stared down at him on the floor. "Couldn't stand it any longer could you?" she said grinning. When he didn't answer she looked back in the room. She noticed that the remaining pendragon seemed to be saying her good-byes to the bird. She looked down at Stryx again. "I take it you traded for that thing." she said.
Stryx took a large drag from the quietly smouldering cylinder in his hand. He mentally sighed in relief, visibly relaxing. "Yeah," he breathed, "It'll go with the mottled one a friend is holding for me." he smirked. He hadn't told Mara about the other animals he hadn't brought to the dorm yet. "This gal I know is taking care of a flitter and a trisk for me, at least until I can get a place in the mews for the trisk." he mused. He looked down the hall. "I wasn't expecting this much interedt in the little guys," he said, thumbing over his shoulder in the direction of the vivariums, "But I still hope I can find homes for the females that are left."
Morbid gave a short nod as he accepted the vial. Good, now she could leave. Only, he seemed more eager to get out of his own room than she did, and the bat-like 'dragon ended up following him out the door. Ah, a smoke was what he wanted? Of all her bad habits, that was one thing she didn't do. Not plain cigs, anyway. She could go for a little 'homegrown specialty' on occasion, though. "Thanks for the little dude." Morbid said as she passed Stryx, waving one winged arm in departure.
Thi patted the small Flitter on the head and began to walk from the dorm. As she was passing by Stryx she pulled a cig from his pack and popped it in her mouth. With a smile and wave she started on her way back to her dorm.
Sylverstryx waved at the two with his free hand, taking a another puff of his smoke. "See yeh all around some time." he said, but not really planning on meeting up with any of them at a later date. Stryx gave Thi a slightly odd look for taking one of his cigs, but didn't say anything about it. Out of curiousity he pulled out the vial Morbid had given him as payment. He opened the top, giving the contents a small sniff. His eyes watered at the strong, harsh, smell his nose was met with. "Whew...Gods, Mara, yeh have ta smell this stuff." he said, covering his nose with his sleeve and offering her the vial.
Amaranth looked back into the room as she saw Thi take one of Strx's cigarettes. She was tempted to say something out loud, but didn't. She just muttered over at Stryx, "Made herself right at home didn't she?" wasn't partial to thiefs, even those who took silly things. Mara sat down on the other side of him and took the vial. She waved it under her nose, but quickly wished she hadn't. She let out a cough and shook her head. "Damn.. That smells like burning hair." she said with another cough. She handed the vial back to him. "If you feed that to any of them, you're gonna have to force it down their throats.",she said taking another drag and smiling.
Stryx 'humf'ed slightly at the comment Mara made about Thi, nodding slightly. He wasn't really pissed, but damnit, cigarettes weren't cheap. He grimaced in the direction Thi had left in. He guess she was trying to be cutsie or sumthin', but it still really bothered him. If she had asked he would have given her one, sure as heck, but she hadn't, and that was the point. "Ugh.." he muttered, rolling his shoulders. He took the vial back from Mara, and our of boredom stuck his little finger into it, getting a little of the goop inside on his finger. He tentativly touched it to his tongue. His eyes widened slightly at the bitter taste, but it wasn't as bad as he expected. He closed the vial up and stuck it back in his pocket. "S'not that bad actually, if I end up needin' ta use it I can probably just spike their food with it." he said.
Sojnyel was holding a small post-it note on which he had copied down the room number that the notice had mentioned. This ought to be it... He thought. Suddenly, he caught the harsh smell of smoke, which sent him into a violent coughing fit just as he rounded the corner. When he finally straightened out, he noticed a pair of pendragons standing next to a door, smoking like there was no tomorrow... Of course, it seemed like all smokers did, but that didn't matter. He whinced mentally as he looked at the room number and realised this was it. Drawing a harsh breath, he walked up closer, yet still at a reasonable distance. "I'm here about the snakes." He said, not adressing any of the two in particular, just speaking in their general direction.
Stryx yawned. "The alugha?"He asked, "Sure, just hold come on in." He ground his cigarette butt out on the sole of his boot, and stood up. Stryx walked into the room, gesturing to Sojnyel to follow. "Allergic to smoke?" he asked idly. The room itself was pretty much smoke free, he had been airing it out for a while now. "If the smokes bugging you we'll try and hurry this up." He thumbed towards the tank that housed the hatchlings. "Take your pick, then we'll get down to payment."
Sojnyel gave a slight nod of agreement. The smoke did bother him. He spent a few moments just watching the four remaining alugha, quickly making his mind up. "That one." He said, pointing to the charcoal-pale red alugha. "I'd like that one." He repeated.
Stryx slid open the tank and retrieved the female. He slid her into one of the small carrying boxes and handed the container to Sojnyel. "What do you want to trade for her?" he asked, pulling out another care sheet and the females information sheet and handing them over as well. Female 3 charcoal-red-pale red-striped-solid AF-EE-ED-vu-st
Sojnyel grabbed what he was given with his left hand and dug through his pockets with the right. "The bloody thing has to be here somewhere..." He muttered. Eventually, he fished up the fruit of his hand. It was a Menlo chip, a post-it note similar to that he had written the room number on was attached to it. "Speed" It said in a barely readable handwriting. Sojnyel held this out to the other pendragon. "Would this be sufficient?"
Stryx nodded and took the chip, "Should be great, thanks." he stuck the chip into his pants pocket and grinned. "Just make sure you go get that little female registered asap, m'kay?"
